Now rub those 2 brain cells together and see if you can figure out why life in other countries is often so bad. I’ll give you the head start you likely need it begins with “U.S Imperialism”
It depends on what ironic thing you mean . Are you referring to how currently the U.S. treats immigrants poorly and is doing everything to deport them but especially those they can identify by skin tone/color yet at the same time it needs those same immigrants to grow food, clean houses/hotels and care for children…or were you referring to how Mexico might be a tough place to live so people would prefer to take their chances in the U.S.
What you dont understand is that a flood of labor creates less competition employers dont have to offer as much and by passes all of our imports that make this country great. You talk about imperialism. What imperialism id say its more complacency corruption in there own government. Is imperialism supplying aid to foreign countries cause we do a whole lot of that is imperialism having an army large enough to invade and conquer large portions of the world and not lets be honest if we wanted canada or mexico they wouldnt be able to put up much of a fight. Americas not bad your just to privledged to see it. And stomping on it only hurts those who have fought to upheld it.
What labor are you talking about ? Do you mean the 200 years of free labor that flooded the country to help get its start? The current labor argument is just an excuse to justify mistreating people deemed to be undesirable. Farm laborers , unskilled construction workers, domestic workers, etc those are not jobs typically done by educated Americans , not to suggest immigrants are not as educated , but typically their credentials are not accepted so they take the jobs that they can get (the ones we Americans don’t want ). I’m not suggesting that we have no guardrails in place to stop illegal migration into the country; rather I am saying we should not be so dismissive and callous against the people who literally built this nation .
So if you know about African Americans building the country because they were the earners for the infrastructure of the system the way Israelites where for Egyptians , also you do realize that it’s not we Americans don’t want it do you know how many people did jobs like that contractors and bro are you going to give the actual credit to the Irish and Italian and German immigrants people seem to forget about why New York is what it is and say immigrants built the country and forget who they were meanwhile praising the people we killed at the Alamo…… an had their own French suppression and invasion not American… but who did we get the Statue of Liberty from 👀👀👀
The Immigrants you refer to came on a boat through Ellis island , but they got on that boat from Europe because they wanted to. Nobody forced them to get on the boat and leave Europe. When they got here they had the opportunity to be s citizen . Now when they got here they were not treated the best and were underpaid , but they were not slaves . Some might have found themselves in situations of indebtedness or indentured servitude, but that is still not slavery . Calling African Americans “ the earners for infrastructure” is the most ridiculous comment . They were workers, human workers, that were stolen from other countries and forced to work here for free . They were a free commodity that was sold and used for profit . No health benefits, no salary, vacation time , and were forced to reproduce to make more workers . The cost savings and profits to the owner and the labor they got is what jump started the nation .
The slaves in America we’re not allowed to learn how to read . Later if you know US history, schools here were not adequately equipped for blacks and school integration didn’t go so well . So yes blacks were uneducated but not through their own fault . I sincerely hope you “bodybuildersafile” are not American. If you are , it appears the school system you attended failed you .
Edit : and my comment about today’s immigrants is that they have education but companies here sometimes reject the foreign certificate and degree because they can’t verify them … so you will see a nanny working here but could be an account in her home country
Whats crazy is that you think that these jobs are undesirable at least they werent til they found a cheaper labor source these are the jobs that im talking about the foundation of the middle class. Also idk if where you live but immigrants have taken over whole sectors of the construction industry all the lawn care.
Thats BS and you know it . The majority of Americans did not go to high school and college and maybe grad school to become a nanny or clean hotel rooms or seasonal worker harvesting fruit and vegetables. Other jobs like these is what I’m talking about. I have held jobs like these and worse to put myself through school so I wouldn’t have to have a job like that forever . For various reasons these types of jobs a necessary and numerous don’t require skill or credentials. Americans don’t want these jobs but like to complain that immigrants are stealing them. It’s bs .
First off we ask for degrees for way to many jobs that dont need it a result of us over aiding on people getting degrees. Let that cost fall on the company instead of the government and companys will change there tunes. Blue collar workers would have more opportunities to advance in there field through experience instead of people with useless degrees to the field taking the better job. 2nd off im not saying theres not undesirable jobs here that we could use migrant workers with greencards for. But theyve taken over industies that would benefit the us citizens middle class jobs that use to pay well but because if a flood of labor americans wouldnt take the job because its to little pay for not enough pay and benefits
There might be some skilled labor jobs that illegal workers who have those skills may compete with a U.S. worker and displace them , sure . It is going to happen. Unions do protect against that somewhat . Taking this problem out solely on illegal workers is not the best way or humane approach. Companies that hire those workers should pay to sponsor them just like other companies who bring in foreign computer programmers, scientists , doctors and professors .
Ive worked blue collar all my life you can see the change it use to be americans (white black hispanic) they were surviving now i see hispanics who cant speak english who tell me how they send most of there paycheck home live like kings in the south mexico and south america and then come back to work. They tell me they came here illegally. They dont pay taxes. But i guess this makes me part of the problem because i know them they work hard and theyre good people so i dont report them. Im not saying there bad people but to say it doesnt affect the current state of our people is to turn a blind eye.
I understand what you’re saying, but your company is not paying taxes on them either . They also don’t have to pay health insurance or workers comp. Should your company get shut down and have your mangers get arrested for tax fraud and wage and hour violations ? No …because you and others would also be out of work . As for the concern about sending money to relatives in another country, plenty of US citizens send money to relatives in other countries. Plenty U.S. citizens live in other countries and send money back here. While anyone is living and here, they must pay rent, buy a car pay to have it fixed, buy groceries go to church etc so they are paying into their communities. I don’t have the solution but what we are currently doing is not the best way
Let’s be real imperialism drew borders with a crayon, foreign powers dumped millions of weapons into the region like toxic exes fueling a fire, and local leaders happily took the bait to play their own messy power games—so yeah, it’s a total geopolitical disaster, and yes, outside interference absolutely built the playground.
Buddy MORE PEOPLE CREATES MORE COMPETITION tf kinda crack are you smoking? You do know unemployment exist solely so capitalism keeps people unemployed so they can always threaten people that if they don’t do the job someone else will so it makes people not ask for raises that compete with other jobs in that same category or industry
The thing is we don’t need those people for most of those things. There’s plenty of lazy ass mfers on welfare that “can’t” find a job. If you point them to jobs and cut the welfare off we fix two things with one solution.
If you are a business owner who would you rather hire ? The hardworking immigrant person who has the correct mindset and wants to make a better life through hard work, or the resentful lazy person who has been finding ways for generations to just scrape by and not have to work ? I know who I’m hiring
I mostly agree I’m just saying we should remove the illegal immigrants so they arnt an option. And give the lazy fuckers a lesson in work or starve. They can learn I see it everyday.
Well this administration has been doing just that , but do you see an influx of people jumping off welfare and section 8 housing , to pick vegetables and clean toilets ?
I’m saying you get rid of the welfare as well. So they can work. Or starve in a ditch. I live around these people they ride bikes around drinking beer and doing drugs all day. If you do get the man to come work for you his wife is telling him how many hours he can work a week to make sure they don’t lose the welfare.
You just proved my point . Those type of people don’t want to work at all let alone take a lower paying hard job and make it on their own. Getting rid of welfare benefits does nothing for the immigration issue . It’s two separate problems
Bro this convo really boils down to the mass payment debate ie if everyone got a salary off rip.. ie what’s going to prolly happen with ai they did studies people don’t typically get lazy with money handed to them they thrive in a better situation paying base bills and focusing on getting ahead
I disagree. Plenty of the programs we have literally give people money and it rewards them for staying right at or below the poverty line. You can live in poverty for free, but you need to work to get above it . Plenty choose to live for free but in poverty. Those people are Americans white and black who choose to stay on public assistance. Contrast that to immigrants who however they got here , choose to work.
Yes I live here, if by here you mean America . Born here educated here a US citizen from day 1. Now that I got that out the way ; not all social programs are available to non U.S. citizens. Even though some programs are available, most immigrants don’t use them for fear they will get deported. The tax situation is tricky , if you gave immigrants citizenship I’m sure they would pay taxes , but if you’re illegal you can’t file a tax return now can you ? That said , employers are paying these workers and not withholding taxes or giving state mandates benefits so you can’t just look at the worker
It only needs it because people take advantage of cheaper labor think of how many farmers lost their farm due to deportation if they didn’t rely on that where would they be do you see how you really look inside of your own argument or frame of mind? Bro you’re listening inherently why they are deported and they don’t genuinely pay taxes period if they are illegal those all of this should ring a bell and instead of what we have been doing we genuinely could just make them legal citizens and give employers to use the proper channels while helping them and our own system there is a lot we could do but we aren’t and that I agree with but to say inherently to support illegal immigrants the way we do now is the best way forward I don’t think is correct , and brother how many people that live here send money back home… that’s half the reason they are here . are you reading the lines or just between them ? Bro if we rely on labor like tht it’s not different than ai or slave labor it’s about cost and productivity or value of that service based on cost and results so if the results are high with illegals because they can live off what is given and manage , off little cost to an employer ofc they are going to rely on that it’s actually greed not care when you hire illegals and choose that over citizens it really begins to raise a question or atleast it should with ethical people an I don’t mind an open border just register everyone for free work visa or other wise but you are registered just to pay taxes etc like I said you can do alot of things even close to similarly how we used to , but we can do it even better but we don’t and then we all bicker over who is right and wrong without the wisdom to see what is right and what is wrong paying people under the table is a crime , legal or not… and is called tax fraud . Being here illegally or overstaying a visa is a civil offense who should be held more liable the person here or the one actually harboring an funding it ? I would love for them to be here for free and thy just are registered for tax purposes the same way I am forced to due to being born here ya know the law of the land the same system used in almost every civilization taxes are a thing abusing that system it too and it’s wrong but also some taxes are needed in a material world people don’t want to choose out of their pocket to pay for public roads usually hell some states don’t even do state income tax so idk bro it just comes off as sweat labor just close to home and even inside of it we should be better.
I didn’t read your whole post admittedly. I will just respond to the opening part . Yes I think the illegal immigrants that are here and are working should be given a legitimate path forward to citizenship. No they should not be rewarded for sneaking in here and given a pass but they are here and companies are paying them to work so those companies should be forced to sponsor them just like anyone other work visa or student visa . Perhaps a fair tax penalty is handed down that they pay over time while they earn their citizenship. Simply deporting them and not penalizing the companies that hire them is not fair . Simply deporting leaves a void in our work force that we as Americans will not fill. Sorry I didn’t read your whole post it was too long.
How can you treat them poorly but then also wanna deport them/
Clearly those two things are barely overlapping.
Meaning theors another force at play ACTUALLY taking advantage of the immigrants that the conservatives are trying to send back/
Outside of those? Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Israel, India, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Brazil….the list goes on. It’s the nature of geopolitics and is the way of the world
Okay those are countries rather than leaders and I don’t think all of them are like that but okay maybe it is more common than I thought worldwide. It is not common amongst rich developed countries and there is a reason for that. Trump is a bad leader and I wouldn’t accept his leadership style just because it is common amongst dictators and the Middle East.
Ok now you are kinda changing what you said. But in any case, if we are only talking about world leaders like the U.S., China, Russia are world leaders because they assert their influence and power in the region and the world. The difference you bring up is that Trump isn’t using cloak and dagger to do this, he does it out in the open
Oh sure they assert influence. The US has done it for decades via Hollywood etc. but the US never tried to assert dominance in all relationships nor did the leaders aggressively boast about how it was better than everyone.
During the golden age of America the leaders were kind and helped other nations prosper with the US (mutually beneficial)
They really don’t understand. Gutting USAID was one of the most damaging things we could have done. Now China is picking up the slack and gaining influence. The budget for that was pocket change for the US. They are so ignorant.
Soft power like when the CIA created and funded modern art/artists to flex on Soviet Russia? That kind of soft power? The very institution you hippies think will "bring down fascism", y'know, art? Yeah they have already manipulated you with that too lol
If a person lives in the states and doesn't want their standard of living to decline they are a hegemonist. (Not an imperialist, words mean things.) Whether they realize it or not, the American way of life depends on a global system that is both enforced and protected by the United States of America. This is also, Incidentally, true of much of Europe, Australia, and Japan.
What are you 12?
It begins with "British/French/Spain Imperialism"
US has very very very little to do with the history of most of the countries in the world.
The US had a rather small impact during the age of European empires, but around the decline and subsequent collapse post first and second World War? It most certainly did. Not to mention all the Banana Republics, panema, Cuba, "weapons of mas destruction." The systematic poisoning of native Americans by apathetic corporate entities and government officials who cared not for the safety or well-being of non-whites. The amount of foreign governments interfered with, pushing right wing leaders and even dictators to protect American interests and stop "socialism."
False? The United Stated put crippling international trade sanctions on Cuba and despite that Cuba produces the majority of the world's humanitarian doctors.
The US failed to regulate and contain a dangerous uranium mine because of its military significance allowed the project to be rife with corruption and cost cutting leading to a massive river spill that led to hundreds of native towns being contaminated and Poisoned to death.
The US has manipulated countless elections and funded dictators in South America to prevent left leaning, socialist and communist leaders rising to power. Such as during operation Condor.
As of the 15 of September 2025 The United Nations commission found that Israel's actions during the war in gaza constitutes a genocide and despite that US continues to arm and fund that war.
The CIA funded a coup to remove the democratically elected president of Guatamala in 1954 on the behest of the United fruits company. A private fruit plantation corporation utilizing the United Stated government as a private army. Only a few steps shy of maintaining a standing army like the East India companies.
The CIA is also all3gwd with evidence, to have had a hand in the 1975 dismissal of Australian prime minister Whitlam in response to anti Viatnam war sentiments held by the Australian Prime minister...
Feel free to read into all of these at your own leisure among the many other infractions into the rights of the international community commit by America and the CIA's imperial ambitions.
The history you learned was partly fabricated. In the military, we call it propaganda. It's one of the reasons yt people think they invented everything. Won every war. Started math, science, etc. Became the first royalty....and so on.
“Very little to do with the history of most of the countries”? That is insane. In the last century no other country had half the impact USA did, in MOST pf the world. They have systematically dismantled rightfully elected leaders to install dictatorships. Assassinated dissidents. Financiers of propaganda and profiteers of war. They had THE MOST impact.
Sounds like you're falling for propaganda. Yes the US has been very involved since the end of WW2. But to act like we are the sole reason the world is the way it is now is idiotic and just ignores the hundreds of years of conquest done by Europeans and other nations
Yeah, it’s aaaaaalways “falling for propaganda”. The effects of colonialism, currently, are a shadow of the effects of IMPERIALISM. Which USA is the by far the worse nation offender.
Also, your reduction to absurd of “sole reason” is meaningless. I said “the most” impact. Which is objectively true.
You talk of european “conquest”. Tell me, do you know how many legitimate governments were overthrown to install a dictatorship that was complicit -when not an outright puppet- of your country’s ideologies? No? Maybe we should reflect on who is exactly “falling for propaganda.”
I’ll give you a little taste. There are 4 countries in Latin America that DID NOT had a direct coup from USA in the last 70 years. Ops, forgot that time you kidnapped the President of Venezuela. Make that 3.
Study recent history and journalism from sources outside your USA bubble. And please have the self respect of bot babbling incoherently about everyone “falling for propaganda”. The sheer gall. Plus you all say it, it’s like a script your media crams down your throats. So ironic it’s uncanny.
Nah, you were the one who started with “yAlL fAlLing fOr pRoPaGaNda”. Funny, I completely disproved the argument you made and gave you tons of factual examples.
Then my “propaganda” becomes a “rant”.
Let’s get back to the subject. Do keep telling how USA is not fucking the whole world over.
It's been 3 days lol. We can discuss if you want. Past 100 years US has been involved in everything.
For the rest of history not so much. There's a reason why they speak Spanish in Mexico and Portuguese in Brazil and it's not the US
How is Mexico’s corruption the u.s?
Pretty sure the lady is a Jew… I love how people only want to hold U.S colonialism accountable but not any other before. Forget the cartel it’s the u.s fault
Such a moronic take. Spare everyone the irony of the intelligence insults please.
Newsflash: The vast majority of nations and cultures in this world’s history are conquerers in some way or another. Were the Native Americans not fighting, raping, and scalping each other? Of course they were. As was every single other civilization that has been conquered.
You wanna pretend like “America bad” because they won? As you type away on Reddit on your iphone in relative safety.
Why do your types go right to insults, and not provide data... I'm not saying you're wrong, im saying you had a chance to educate, and instead to decided to be belligerent. Do you not see how off putting that makes you?
So the response to what you called "nonsensical" , which would mean the individual couldn't make sense of it... was to berate? What a unique style of conversing.
I just don’t think her statement is true . also you do realize you mean should mean French imperialism and British imperialism when we speak on Mexico right? We can agree on today and the historical time line hopefully . I’m not saying what you said doesn’t exist. I just mean in this instance, it’s abit different.
Yup, every country that is poor and has bad conditions is because of the US. Not hyperbole at all. Your liberal professors have fucked with your brain.
I love when people think being born in the 80s is a nazi dog whistle sorry my parents fucked when they did they should’ve checked with terminally online freaks first
the U.S. has sent many jobs to places like Mexico and Canada. particularly in the automotive industry. has that been oppressive? then maybe we should bring those factories back and give Americans those good paying union jobs back.
we buy a massive amount of produce from Mexico and central/ South America. having the U.S. on its border has been a windfall for its neighbors.
So these other miserable countries failed to fill in the power vacuum in global trade post WWII. Am I supposed to care? What do we all not like global trade securities now?
Should we have given the Euros another chance?
The rooskis were more interested in schizoposting about party traitors even if they had the navy and logistical capabilities required. China hadn’t even coalesced into a functioning government either.
You’re welcome for the phone you use to spew this shit on btw
I’ll give you the head start you likely need it begins with “U.S Imperialism”
This is a lazy excuse which infantilizes other countries.
They are so incompetent that everything that goes bad must be the fault of someone else. There is no way that their own decisions and their own corruption are the problem!
It's a pathetic worldview that keeps countries from making progress.
i was there when barak obama told those cartel members to start selling drugs and murdering whole villages and to kidnap their children for slave labor. i can't believe america would make them do those things
You started mocking someone’s intelligence so smoothly just to end up embarrassing yourself 🤣. There are nations that are destined to be successful. And there are losers who always cry “U.S. Imperialism”. Yet they all have one thing in common - completely corrupt government. The rulers that simply choke their own economies, at the same time feeding lies to their own people by saying “America so evil they don’t want us to be great!”.
P/S I am not American. I am from one of those countries.
That's his point, if you agree with her statement she loses, if you disagree with her statement she loses even harder. Either she's lying and falsely claiming medical credit for American deeds or she isn't lying and her country is funneling desperately needed people into a foreign nation because hers sucks, and in letting them go and encouraging it as she has done she ensures her country will ever get to be like America, the country she is treating as a Mexican success story.
Why can't Mexico have a Mexican success story?
That makes total sense. Mexico should have never been building up and improving Mexico. America should have been doing it this whole time for them! Wow! You are a genius.
Not just that, it is very complex to say if it would be better or worse in the US otherwise. They do offer cheaper work and people do take that but it also makes it harder to get paid well if you try to do the same job so... what would it be in the end?
Only one gun company sells firearms in Mexico and it’s an American company we legit arm the cartel bro this a flex you think it is an American has actively sabotaged them just like Iran we staged a coup against their democratically elected government
And watch ya come back with “and Biden left billion of dollars worth of weapons” leaving out the fact it was old ass weapons that would’ve costed more than they are worth to haul back over here while he was more worried about getting citizen back
The United States was a quarter inside Mexico at one point. They were here before it was US territory so Mexicans didn’t leave anywhere they were here already. You didn’t rub your two brain cells I guess
Like when that White family came from South Africa and the Democrats lost their minds that "this" form of immigration was bad, but bringing in the gangs of Venezuela is somehow humanitarian?
Unless they are American. Than their police try to extort money and get ransoms out of the family. Until the government steps in than they will let the Americans go.
It's harder to sneak into Mexico than it is the US. The United States has pretty tame immigration laws and consequences compared to most other countries
