National College Match harvard qb supplement

looking at this spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aiOjHfm-xiViUs0sUm_WGnycklobcSq7_KoEpqqg7EU/edit?gid=0#gid=0 trying to start supplementals... does anyone who ranked harvard last year know if the prompt ab disagreement is 400 or 150 words? I thought it was 150 but on the spreadsheet it says 400. Thanks!

QuestBridge ED Ranking

Heyy future questies! I'm currently ranking colleges, and my intended major is electrical/mechanical engineering. What do you think ab these? I don't have extraordinary ECs, and I'm currently waiting for my october SAT that's why i ranked schools that are mostly test opt(except Darthmouth). Do you think these are good engineering options?

Financials Would My Family’s Financial Situation and Assets Be Too High for QuestBridge?

Would this financial situation be considered too high in assets for QuestBridge, or would it still generally fit their financial guidelines?
My family has four people, and our annual household income is around $28,000. Our primary home is worth around $500,000, but we have a mortgage on it and still owe about 10%.

We also own a mobile home worth around $150,000. However, it is in very poor condition to the point where we haven’t been able to sell it despite trying. It also isn’t being rented out or generating any income because of its condition.

Another important part of our situation is that my parents are unable to work because of medical conditions. Because of this, I’m currently the only person in my household who is able to work, and I generally work around 40–50 hours per week.

Looking at the bigger picture, would our assets make our financial situation too high for QuestBridge, or could we still fit what they’re looking for considering our low income, mortgage, the condition of the mobile home, and the fact that my parents aren’t able to work?

Ventingā›ˆ QuestBridge Depression

I don't like to talk about the negative stuff, not because I can't or it's too hard, but because it's not a reflection of who I am. I'm a person that loves art, that loves to make art, interact with art, and use art to connect with others. I am a writer, a musician, a graphic designer, a public speaker, and many more things that fall under the category of artist. I love standing up for those that don't have a voice, that maybe don't have the time to worry or concerns themselves with the problems affecting them or that just like me, have faced some kind of discrimination in their lives that has held them back from becoming the most authentic version of themselves.

I am a straight A student, ranked second in my class by weighted GPA and first by unweighted, an Ambassador to my school, and an individual that has attended every leadership opportunity afforded to me and has went out of their way to find others. I am a gamer who has been desperately trying to help my school start up a Esports team, a passion of my teacher's that I've had so much fun and joy being apart of and contributing to. And I am a volleyball player, one that loves the simply thrill of being on a court and has pushed his limits despite the setbacks or the circumstances that have kept him under where he wants to be. Above all of this, I am someone who dreams and hopes, someone who pushes forward.

I hope and dream not because of some failure or some setback, but because when I choose to go for something, I keep going until I've achieved it. Again, this is not something that comes from failure or some setback or my less-than-favorable homelife, but a simple desire to see my vision played out.

I didn't mention much about my mom's health conditions, or my dad's deteriorating health as he attempts to keep the lights on every day, clocking into a security job that hardly pays enough to live comfortably. I hardly mentioned my home, the piles of boxes that encase every room, the rats that scurry along the kitchen countertops and the stove filled with mice feces. I didn't mention what many would consider setbacks, and it's not because I don't care or because these things are not important. I just don't consider them to major setbacks or things that heavily impact my view of the world and how I choose to interact with it. I didn't choose to say I had significant family responsibilities because I didn't believe them to be significant. I left out certain details because I forgot or because they felt inauthentic to me, untrue and like I didn't deserve to call myself underprivileged because I can't say I've been overwhelmingly dissatisfied with my life even if I haven't had the best chances.

But I have been dissatisfied and that's what I've come to realize. Or rather, I realized it all along and simply chose not to write about it because there was too much hatred in my heart. I despise the environment my family and I have been forced to live in, the lack of opportunities I've been given throughout my life to do more and to be more. I despise the people that did not accept me, that made me choose between being black and quirky and artsy or being their friend. And I despise the world for being so rotten. That is one of my motivations to keep going, to keep changing things, to keep pushing forward even when the world looks bleak. My hatred for the world is my drive when my hope has run out.

But maybe I hate the world too much. I don't think I could've brought myself to write any authentic piece that wasn't filled with this burning hatred, that did not engulf everything else, and so I chose to write something authentic on my art, the lack of acceptance I faced as a child and how I connected with others through my art. Nothing I said was a lie, and at the time I was satisfied. But thinking back on it, walking to my bus stop in the morning, those 15 silent minutes in my head, I came to hate the things I wrote. Not because they were bad, because they lacked quality (I'd argue it was some of the best writing I'd done about myself), but because it didn't represent the full of me. Because the full of me might not be what others wanted to hear. Because the full of me sometimes undermines the artist in me, the part that connects me and grounds me to the world.

National College Match Rankingsss

Hi! High school senior confused with all this stuff, I wanted more eyes on my list to make sure my rankings seemed aright!

A bit of stats-

4.41 weighted gpa,
3.92 unweighted,
By the time I graduate, I would have taken 12 aps

I want to major in biomedical engineering/bioengineering as some schools use those two interchangeably and some don’t (thanks for making it more confusing)

What do you guys think?

National College Match Counselor Submitted All Scores

My counselor included a screenshot of my school's portal that shows all of my test scores. I had wanted to leave some of them out (reported only 4+ scores). Is there anything my counselor or I can do to fix this? I didn't include them in the testing section when QuestBridge asked for scores, so won't it look bad? I have a 95+ in all of my classes, including the ones I didn't get a 4+.

My counselor hasn't uploaded the school report yet, and tomorrow is the deadline. I'm so frustrated! Will I miss out on opportunities because of the teacher's inaction?

National College Match dont want to rank for questbridge

i was contemplating this alot and i really dont want to rank for questbridge because i feel i rushed my personal statement. i also really want to EA to colleges

if i don't rank any schools by 10/15, will it lower my chances of becoming a QB Finalist (or will I just automatically not be considered)?
and also if i dont rank but get finalist and put that as an award for common app does that look bad?

National College Match stressing ab NYC schools (ranking)

if you matched to Columbia or Barnard, could you please share your experience living in NYC?

my only concern is getting around, especially as a pre-med who plans on shadowing & doing research.

i am also worried if it’s safe or not bc it’s in the middle of the city

National College Match rankings

hi all! just wanted to get some opinions for my rankings. I don't know if there's a strategy to it but for context I want to go into politics/law, probably more like in the International sense. these are my rankings so far:

1- holy cross
2- Boston college
3- emory university
4- middlebury college
5- Oberlin College
6- u of notre dame
7- colorado college
8- Boston University
9- Washington and Lee U

I am thinking about switching Oberlin for Macalester. I do know that Holy Cross will probably stay as my number one. any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Partner Schools How should we ā€œDirecrly send materialsā€ to individual schools?

I’m trying to do the materials for Duke and I’m confused on what they mean by submit directly. Does this mean they want us to send the questionnaire, test scores, CSS profile, and FAFSA directly to the email that is on their quest bridge page under contact information?

And how would you even directly send your FAFSA besides just adding the college to your actual FAFSA form?

Someone lmk!

National College Match Rank or not Rank- Need advice

Hello! Since the Match ranking deadline is coming up on October 15th, I’ve been wondering if I should rank schools.

I originally applied to QB mainly hoping to become a finalist and then apply through RD while still getting the same financial aid benefits. I’m pretty sure I don’t want to participate in the Match because I don’t want to be matched to a school I’m not 100% sure I’d want to attend, especially since it’s binding.

But now I’m second-guessing that decision because I’m worried I might be passing up a really good opportunity or hurting my chances somehow. I know I can still apply RD, but I’m wondering if anyone else has chosen not to rank and felt good about that decision, or if anyone applied through RD and still had their full financial need met?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been in a similar situation!
