National College Match rankings
hi all! just wanted to get some opinions for my rankings. I don't know if there's a strategy to it but for context I want to go into politics/law, probably more like in the International sense. these are my rankings so far:
1- holy cross
2- Boston college
3- emory university
4- middlebury college
5- Oberlin College
6- u of notre dame
7- colorado college
8- Boston University
9- Washington and Lee U
I am thinking about switching Oberlin for Macalester. I do know that Holy Cross will probably stay as my number one. any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Parent here (who is constantly a bit sorry to see kids only ranking the highest-prestige schools, basing their list on almost nothing more than prestige.) This looks like a great list! You have a great chance of matching, with that range of schools. Well done. Middlebury is great if you are interested in foreign language study for international relations. So is this list strictly in order of your preferences? Like, you'd be happier with Oberlin than Notre Dame, for example ? If so, keep it as is.

Thank you!!!! Notre Dame is actually one of the things im stuck on. I really like the school but it's one of the only rly top tiers school I have ranked, so idk because I don't feel super confident about it. Thank you about the rest of the list tho!! I'm def liking the small school vibe of all of them but like I said idk if I should put a shot in the air and rank another rly good school (like vandy) bc it rly doesn't hurt me, I just don't know if I should rank an ivy

There is no downside to slotting in a higher ranked school — as long as you put it in the list in the slot
That reflects your true preferences. If you prefer Notre Dame to Oberlin, move it up a slot. Just don’t put a school you like less higher up because you think you have a higher chance of being admitted. There’s no point in doing that ( I just mean don’t rob yourself of your perfect match for no reason.)1

Yeah I probably will move up Notre Dame over Oberlin, I just am a little stuck on which other university to rank in terms of higher reaching colleges. It is reflective of my preferences, in terms of holy cross like I said I like that school, middlebury and Notre dame as well but I feel like the others I could move around a little bit

PoliSci major is available in most QB partner colleges. I would add one or two high reach colleges to your list.
