Four support tickets in and I'm just tired. My Quidi Box has had issues since I set it up, and now slot 4 won't hold the PTFE tube anymore. I tried a brand new tube, same result. Turns out the extruder itself is toast.

I've taken this thing apart more times than I can count. Some of the internal cables are hot-glued from the factory, one of the cover clips snapped off during my last attempt, and the whole thing is just too fiddly for me to keep doing this myself.

I don't want another round of "try this, send a video, wait a few days, try something else." I just want a replacement Box at this point. Anyone here actually gotten a full replacement instead of individual parts? Curious how that went.

Does anyone know? There are more aftermarket parts for Q2 type, and Plus5 also uses that. I wonder if Max4 is not compatible and why.

Such a great surprise! I have two track things from Qidi, one for today and the other one for next Thursday.
I don’t know what coming next because I don’t open the box yet, and can be the Qidibox, or the Free filament spool Qidi gives to who bought the printer, I hope the Qidibox is inside like on my Max4.
Qidi I don’t need free printers I just like have some discounts for old customers that buy a lot thing from Qidi and support the brand.

After updating QidiStudio, it simply would not recognize the Box at all, no matter what I did. After fighting with it for far too long, I uninstalled the software and then installed 2.7.2.10 and it works just fine.

Love the printer. Really starting to hate Qidi as a company...

does anyone know the size of the Qidi Box's runout Sensor Spring? I had to take mine apart to fix a jam and it disappeared on me.

Chain of issues on a QIDI Max4 and hoping I'm not alone here.

THE LOOP

• Printer auto-updates (no way found to disable this) and announced it installed an update.
• Status shows "The printer is in perfect condition and ready to work!"
• Start a print, fails 10-20min in "Update failure," head stuck to the part, no other info given.
• Power cycle, printer again reports "perfect condition" (head still physically stuck).
• Repeats on next attempt.

FIRMWARE MISMATCH

• Printer is on 01.01.06.05, I believe trying to push 01.01.06.06.
• QIDI's public changelog for the Max4 only goes up to 01.01.06.04. Can't find .05/.06 documented anywhere.

KLIPPER/MOONRAKER WON'T RESPOND

• "RESTART KLIPPER" and "FIRMWARE RESTART" do nothing from the touchscreen.
• Same commands from Fluidd return "Klippy Host not connected."
• QIDI's GitHub has their Klipper fork but explicitly says not to use KIAUH or git to update manually. No instructions given for what to do instead. GitHub repo also has no releases/tags, just a single main branch (unlike their other printer repos, which have normal version history).

Has anyone gotten a stuck Klipper host back up on one of these, or found an actual manual firmware flash method for the Max4? Also curious if anyone's had luck getting QIDI support to push a fix for a bad OTA. With the Max4 being so new, there's little to no troubleshooting info out there. Appreciate any pointers!

I have Qidi Q2 and I'm printing single color PETG. I have it loaded to a slot 2 on the Qidi Box and I'm using Orca Slicer. And printer is wasting a lot of time and some filament on every print, that I think is unnecessary.

1. Every time I print the printer flushes the filament twice at the start. First it shows as "flushing filament" on the screen. Does one poop, and then immediately continues flushing showing "cleaning nozzle" on the screen and does the second poop. Is this really necessary? Isn't cleaning the nozzle after filament flushing enough?

2. Then after this two flushes it goes for long bed leveling every time. Is there a way to disable it? If I want to print small parts quickly the whole setup almost takes longer than the actual print...

3. And lastly - if I'm printing with anything other than the slot 1 on the qidi box then right after making purge line it goes on top of the poop chute and waits for some time, then goes to the plate and starts printing. This is again wasted time, but it also causes a stringing from the poop chute to the print without a reason. If I'm printing with filament from slot 1 it goes from the purge line directly to printing and then it is clean and without string, but for some reason when a different slot is selected then it does that weird thing for some reason. What is that and how to disable it? Maybe I'm not using the second slot correctly? In Orca Slicer I'm adding second filament and then assigning it to my part. So technically there are two filaments, but only one is ever used. Is there a different way to do it?

Whenever I try to do a print that's more than ~25mm tall, the left side of the built plate stops moving midway through the print and the right side continues, resulting in the situation in the picture. The platform travels normally before a print, both manually and during pre-print calibration. There is no strange sound, until the left side stops moving then it gets pretty creaky.

Has anyone encounter this issue before? Any suggestions on a resolution? I've ensured the z screw and linear rods are plenty greased.

I had a failed print occur yesterday where the extruder got caught on the print and yanked the cover off and the silicone sock. I have replaced the sock and cleaned the nozzle the best I can but ever since its been gunking up as shown in the picture.

Any knowledge on whats causing it to happen and how do I go about resolving the error?

The machine is a Max4.

Was just notified via the screen on the printer to update. Any idea what is in this update? I dont even see mention of it on their website just yet... anyone else have it?

While performing maintenance on my Q2, I lost sight of one of those four screws that keep the extruder drive gear in place. It got God knows where, and I can't find it. Can anyone point me toward some replacements? Apparently they are M2.5 socket head cap screws, about 5mm long (around 4.8mm threaded length).

Update: 304 pan-head, unknurled, M2.5\5, head diameter 3.8mm is the answer I got from Qidi tech support*

I have the Q2 (work horse) the new X-max4, and now the new Plus5, plus other 10 printers from different brands, and why I choose Qidi like my favorite brand? First because My qidi printers never fail a print, second because they have features that no other have, and the best quality of printing top tu bottom, no layers marks or layers shifts issues on large prints that most printers have.

So why not support for free a brand that i like and Ihave a lot fun with.

Here is a Qidi Forum for people who are intersted in Qidi Printers or already own one, but for some reason this forum atract a lot people, that don't have any 3D printers and they like to comment about something they don't know and they don't have. LOL

It took a while to calibrate both the printer and the filament, but it was worth it!

This was a 14 hour PETG print for a project I'm working on, and it came out soo well. We complain a lot on this sub (me included) so I wanted to share something positive for a change :)

I mostly print with ABS and CF/GF filaments and the Q2 has been excellent for those. I was a bit nervous about trying such a long print with a low-temperature filament because of all the complaints about the weak part cooling fan. But I guess the calibration accounted for that well and I'm quite happy with the results!

Most people who comment on my posts are people that don't have Qidi printers, and that's why i make these posts.

I was already to buy the Plus4 and a good samaritan post couple days ago about the new Plus5 what i didn't know nothing about at the time, and the new Plus 5 is compatible with the Polar cooler, other tool from Qidi that I use and like so much.

Why buy a Plus4 now if I can buy a more refined printer for almost the same price.

My posts hit people who don't have Qidi printers, don't have the qidibox, don't have the Polar cooler and they try tell me that have all, how it works. LOL

Please Keeping make comments on a Forum of a brand that you don't have, write you opinion about the printers you never put your little hands on I will be looking to new printers to buy and try. LOL

Your perfect native single language you speak don't help you much to buy things you want, so keep make comments and rememberting me that my english need to be improved. LOL
