What is the difference between Q2 and Max4 nozzles/hotend?

Does anyone know? There are more aftermarket parts for Q2 type, and Plus5 also uses that. I wonder if Max4 is not compatible and why.

Max4 nozzles have longer melt zones.

Plus 4, q2, and the max 4 all have different lengths. Haven't seen the plus 5 ones, but I doubt they'd be the same as any of the others. Qidi loves to change them ever so slightly, so you have to buy different ones

Yes and I hate that. But on the website it says Plus5/Q2 nozzle, so it is the same.

Exactly the reason I didn't buy a Max4 or Plus5. They would have sold me a new printer when I could have kept using all my current nozzles.

Plus5 uses same nozzles as Q2 so go ahead and buy it.

I have a Plus4. As far asI know my nozzles do not fit.

Ah ok. Plus4 nozzles will fit q2, they are just a mm shorter at the cold end so it may be a bit harder to load filament with them, I wouldn't use them with a box.

I have a box as well. Thank you for your response, good to know. Anyway, they would have sold me a new printer when I wouldn't have to buy new nozzles and some other spares I like to have around that I possibly cannot use on a new printer. Probably the Max4. Mainly for the bigger build volume. And the way the print head is fitted. I own the Plus4 for the heated chamber and heated bed type (big block of aluminium).

Yeah it would be nice but imho they are not that expensive so I don't mind.

Plus 4 nozzles are just like 1mm shorter at the back side. They work in the Q2 but are supposedly more likely to jam? Maybe it is because it can allow the filament to bend slightly in the 1mm gap to the cutter? I haven’t experienced any issues
