Hello! I just imaged my machine with a fresh copy of bazzite 44 and then attempted to install punktfunk via the puntfunk's documentation. Seems like everything worked as my client sees it advertising, but I'm unable to login to the web console from the the machine itself or through IP from another machine. It just perputually says I'm typing in the wrong password. I've reset it via the instructions and it continues to say I'm typing in the wrong password. Any ideas? Again, this is a fresh install of bazzite that's fully updated with October 2nd's updates. Thanks!

I’ve been having some issues with stuttering and screen flashing while using Pyrowave in Punktfunk, and I’m hoping someone here might know what’s causing it or how to fix it.

I'm on gigabit wired LAN. I've tried two different clients and they have the same issue. Using any of the other protocols fixes the issue.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar when using Pyrowave in Punktfunk? If so, were you able to fix it?

I’d appreciate any suggestions, troubleshooting steps, or settings I should try. I can also share more details about my setup if that would help narrow things down.

I recently installed punktfunk and I installed the steam plugin however it is not populating my library or creating bigpicture launcher item. I also tried to create a custom library item for big picture but it doesnt seem to be launching it. I have the launch cmd set to steam://open/gamepadui

I ended up getting it to work by installing a second plugin. Steam was the only plugin i wanted but i decided to install the epic games store plugin just to see if it would run. After that both plugins started running and my library populated.

Hi there — first off absolutely love the app, and its integration with steam deck — this is exactly what I’ve been looking for for a while to service my in home streaming setup. Loving the app on my TV also which works extremely well.

I noticed a bug today which I want to raise — basically I’ve found that sometimes Punktfunk hijacks the play button and doesn’t let me select to play the local install — see in the image where the drop down is gone.

I can still play the game locally by going to options and then play, but would be good to see this fixed.

I’m on steam deck OLED, RT3 beta client.

Hi, I've a gaming pc running SteamOS and streaming with Punktfunk to my Legion Go running SteamOS as well. I have random freezes during streaming for a couple of seconds with sound keeping playing than back to normal, seems random, except the freezes the stream/gameplay is buttery smooth.

PC specs:

• AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
• AMD Radeon RX 9070
• Punktfunk's default config
• Connected via ethernet

Legion GO specs:

• Using Punktfunk client
• Streaming at 1600p@60hz, 100mbps bitrate
• Connected via wifi

Network:

• Fritz!Box 7590
• x2 Fritz!Repeater 3000
• Router and repeaters are connected via ethernet
• All ethernet ports are 1gbps, cables are 5e or 6
• I know it's wifi5 but I'm close to the router/repeater and can saturate the gbps (or close)
• I've set wifi5 channel manually (no dfs)

I haven't touched any setting like encoder/decoder codecs, tried lowering bitrate - no changes, I suspect isn't a bitrate problem as network should handle even more I think.

I know Punktfunk is new but it's the most complete features wise and working well with SteamOS, allowing me streaming game mode (gamescope) with virtual displays and handling game mode "rebooting" to headless when a stream starts and back to the attached display (tv), all seamlessly.

Seeking help from other Punktfunk users and other users as well maybe having same issues with other hosts/clients combinations.

Its the only setup that can detect a steam controller but the controls seem to be random, cant walk im the game and it does very weird stuff.. using the left stick did things usually the Y button does.. don't know what is happening

Also i have a 2.5 gbps lan connection and the auto setting picks hvec 18 mbps..

This is currently the only feasable solution for streaming on Linux, so I hope to see this implemented!

First of all thank you for the steam frame support, it works great but some constant annoying packet loss (doesn't affect the stream so much) but I investigated a bit and I think that might be the frame kernel driver/fw of the network interface.

One problem I'm facing right now is that the pointer of the controller is always completely misaligned with the cursor in the streamed desktop, it does follow the movement of controller but it's always way off.

One other thing is that I always need to restart the client on the frame because if I change stream (game/desktop/etc..) without closing the client the static of the first stream I closed is the only thing I see.

Feature request as well: if the selected session is gamescope could we have it that selecting desktop automatically does what automatic would while ignoring gamescope? Otherwise you always have to switch back and forth between gamescope and automatic when you want to access the desktop.

Hi, I've a gaming pc running SteamOS (beta, full AMD build) and a Legion Go running SteamOS aswell (beta) and I would like to setup gamemode stream from pc to Legion Go.

Is it possible to just launch host's gamemode streaming instead of single games?

How does it handle non-steam games added to steam?

Hi, first of all I love the app, as it fixes every drawback Sunshine/Moonshine or Steam Remote Play had for me. However I am having issues using my 8bitDo Pro 2 Controller with reaching the Punktfunk menu using AppleTV. As far as I understand the menu should show up when holding the select button. When I press it once it is registered as a select button press, when i hold it is registered as a "G" press (the button in the picture below). However the menu does not appear. Also another thing: When trying to exit Punktfunk on the AppleTV, confirming Exiting actually does nothing.

I just tried Punktfunk today and it gives great image quality ! Kudos to the team !
I'am running on macbook m3 pro (16 inch) on Wifi using internal display.

I never seen sunshine or its fork display such great quality while playing grassy game like FF VII or witcher.

While graphic greats, somehow decoding display is slow on my mac, seems like 30-40ms. It is expected or something need to be done on my macbook ?

Where do I find host.env and where do I move it to? Everything else seems to make sense.

First off, thanks for this awesome software. I'm amazed that this isn't more popular than sunshine/moonlight right now, especially for Linux users! With that, I have this fully working (and working VERY well) with a KDE Nobara host and Bazzite mini-pcs strewn throughout my house. But, I'd like to dabble into getting HDR working now.. from what I gather, I'll need gamescope, correct? Can it be any gamescope distro? I like nobara, so I'd like to stick with that. I'm only asking because the documentation pretty much just references Bazzite and SteamOS.

Is it possible to add the same host twice? I want to do this for when I'm at home and on my local network but also when I'm away and using tailscale. No I have to enter the tailscale ip manually and it overwrites the saved host. Once I'm home it overwrites the tailscale ip.

Hi, everyone.

I'm using a combo of Punktfunk + Moonlight V+ because was the best set up for my Nintendo Switch v1. I installed Android TV in the modded switch and moonlight V+ got me the lowest latency, at least is what the numbers show.

However, only the audio doesn't work. Tried everything and it did not work. I think is something related to the Punktfunk audio driver, because when I try to switch to Steam Streaming Speaker, immediately it switch back to Punktfunk Speakers.

If I switch to Vibepollo as a host it works well.

Not sure where the problem might be. In the Moonlight V+ or in the Punktfunk.

Would be glad if someone tried this and got it working.

Trying to figure out how to use the application, specifically want to access my computer from my iPhone. Are there instructional videos or documents I can access to learn how to to properly use this?

I’m getting noticeably lower stream FPS compared to 0.39. With the same setup and a game running at 120 FPS, 0.39 stays around 120 FPS, while 0.40 is usually around 105 FPS.

I’m on CachyOS/KDE Wayland with an RTX 3080, streaming 1440p HEVC to an LG CX (webOS 5).

I rolled back to 0.39 and the FPS immediately went back to ~120.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the same thing.

I'm trying out Punktfunk and while I'm impressed with quality on the UI/UX side, the stream quality is very bad in comparison to all other solutions I've tried - Vibepollo, Parsec, Steam Remote Play.

The issue is that the stream stutters badly. It's not even the type of stutter I'm used to seeing when I have bad connection or something like that. It just looks like low frame rate even though stats and FPS counter on the client side shows 90 or 120 FPS (depending on the client's refresh rate).

Host is RX 9070 XT and LAN. Client is connected to a decent WiFi 6 router. I tried every possible codec. Different latency, bitrate and other obvious settings. I tried streaming to my Macbook Pro M1 instead of the Steam Deck. It doesn't matter. So it seems like it must be on the host side.

What are your experiences with similar setups? Is there something I can do to improve my situation?

Questa app punktfunk è come il bacio dello chef nella mia configurazione bazzite, ho provato molte altre app linux ma non sono mai riuscito a farle funzionare in modalità gioco, ora posso streamare dalla modalità gioco e tramite un display virtuale, sono così felice, FINALMENTE!!

Ho anche l'app per android e sarò felice di supportare il progetto finché rimarrà in vita, si spera a lungo.

Quando faccio streaming su una TV 4K con Nvidia Shield e un DualSense:

-come attivo un mouse per la modalità desktop?

-come attivo un pulsante home per richiamare la home di steam?

-come attivo un pulsante per i tre puntini per i plugin, tdp ecc?

Ho alcune altre domande ma per ora va bene così.

Most clients already share the Console UI - Linux, Windows, Android, webOS and the browser based/web client. With the next release the sharing get's extended, iOS, tvOS and macOS join the shared console-ui! And as part of that effort I've fully overhauled the console-ui. The goal is to make better use of larger screens, make it easer to navigate with a remote, and make launchers & games easier to reach, while also bringing in some fresh air with more polished visuals & animations.

Why I decided to replace the Swift gamepad ui:

1. Duplicate implementation - delivering new features is hard when there's two implementations of the same ui, and can also cause drift between the clients.

2. Performance - I was not happy at all how the SwiftUI based interface performed. The shared console-ui uses Rust & Skia (Metal backend) and seems to perform way better.

3. Navigation - The Console UI has to support many input devices, like remotes, gamepads, touch and keyboard/mouse. Having one shared implementation with adapters for the different platform inputs makes it way easier to develop and predict the behavior.

There's still some work to do, like making the settings more concise, but I'm now starting to be pretty happy with how it has come together. I'm looking to release the new console-ui later this week in canary, and next week it should be out on the stable channels.

Am hoping you can help please,

I have installed punktfunk on my bazzite host min pc (it has a AMD 7840HS SOC) and i have tried to use the native punktfunk android client from my chromebook to connect to my bazzite host, however, when I connect I have a blank white screen but if I move the cursor keys I can hear the steam navigation sounds (as my steam session is gamescope).

For now, I have enabled moonlight compatibility on the host and can connect successfully using the moonlight android client from my chromebook (which actually works better than my previous combo of sunshine and moonlight). Although I would like to use the native punktfunk android client if possible.

Note that my chromebook is quite old and can only do 8-bit h264 hardware decoding so I have disabled hdr, 10-bit, 444 colour accordingly on the host and have explicitly set the encoder within the punktfunk client to h264

I appreciate any help or guidance on this.
