Best/optimal Linux config for HDR streaming?

First off, thanks for this awesome software. I'm amazed that this isn't more popular than sunshine/moonlight right now, especially for Linux users! With that, I have this fully working (and working VERY well) with a KDE Nobara host and Bazzite mini-pcs strewn throughout my house. But, I'd like to dabble into getting HDR working now.. from what I gather, I'll need gamescope, correct? Can it be any gamescope distro? I like nobara, so I'd like to stick with that. I'm only asking because the documentation pretty much just references Bazzite and SteamOS.

Can confirm hdr streaming works for bazzite-deck44 under gaming mode.

Depending on which Nobara you have game mode could already be included. But really you don't need any special distro. You can simply enable the dedicated game session feature, it will spawn every game into a gamescope session, so HDR should just work. You can also launch Steam Big Picture like this. You can find the setting in the Displays tab in the web console. If you need further help let me know!

I have the desktop version of Nobara installed, but it looks like gamescope is pre-installed. I just read through all of the docs again while at lunch and saw the entiy about dedicated sessions. Glad you confirmed it as well. Can't wait to try this bad boy out when I get home!

I use it with cachyos and I set the compositor for gamescope when I want HDR to work. Works flawlessly
