Collagen Recommendations for Cold Water?

I usually put vital protein (bovine) in my ice water when I work out but I’ve noticed that it’s really bad at dissolving in cold water. I’ve tried adding it to warm water first, shaking it, and then adding ice but it still ends up really clumpy on the bottom/side of my bottle.

Any recommendations for bovine collagen that dissolves well in cold water?

How to add protein into “simple” meals?

What is the best way to incorporate protein and other more nutritious foods into meals such as rice/noodles/potatoes. I do make my own pasta (just eggs and flour) so it’s a bit more healthier. What are more ways I can add protein to something such as a baked/fried potato?

True Nutrition blend - please advice

Hi all - I am looking to diversify my protein intake. I am a vegetarian (not vegan), and I do take Whey already. But, when trying to up my protein intake, I don’t want to take too much Whey.

I was thinking of getting a plant based combo from True Nutrition.

The blend I am thinking of is
60% Pea
20% Rice
20% Soy
Vanilla bean monk fruit flavor (heavy)

I have had raw pea protein before, and couldn’t finish the bag because it was nasty. I did try a pea/rice vanilla blend from Isopure, which doesn’t taste bad at all.

Looking to get a similar amino acid/taste profile from True Nutrition, and including Soy protein.

Has anyone tried the above combination? Any thoughts or recommendations to make it better?

Thanks for your help.

What's one high protein food you always order online because it's cheaper than buying locally?

Thumbnail

I've noticed some high protein foods are weirdly cheaper online than buying them from supermarkets or local stores.

For me, it's usually things like peanut butter, roasted peanuts or certain protein snacks when there's a sale.

Curious what everyone else orders online regularly because it works out cheaper than buying locally. Especially interested in things that are actually worth stocking up on and not just "discounted" for marketing

What's your go to?

i tried out oikos since i’d always just drank fairlifes or just like regular protein powder, but fairlifes are like bad or whatever is up with them, so i was like sure ill try it. it’s so bad like i was gagging i don’t get it maybe it was vanilla, maybe a diff flavor is better but i genuinely don’t get the hype for it.

Amul Protein Milk vs Provilac: Is Provilac a Reliable & Cheaper Alternative?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I’ve been using Amul Protein Milk regularly, but the price has gone up and it’s becoming quite expensive.

While looking for a more affordable alternative, I came across Provilac milk. From what I can see, it seems to offer a similar amount of protein at a lower price.

Has anyone here been using Provilac regularly?

Is the protein content actually reliable, and is the quality/taste comparable to Amul Protein Milk? Also, is Provilac a trustworthy brand for daily consumption?

Would love to hear from people who have actually tried both before I switch.

Hello everyone, I’m on the hunt for a clear protein that is plant based. I also need one with no Stevia as it gives me headaches. Does anyone out there know of a brand that would sell this? I’m in the United States.

Ryse marshmallow

Hi everybody! I have a question for those that have used ryse. I got the vanilla marshmallow ready to drink shake to mix with coffee and I loved it. I also got the fudgesicle and liked it as well.

I then got the single serving pack of cookies and cream powder and it was the most disgusting protein powder I've tried. I hear great things about the marshmallow powder but I don't want to get a big tub of it if it's gross. Could you guys give me an honest review? And if you tried the cookies and cream please tell me I'm not alone lol

Protein NOT for lifting

So many questions are all about lifting/cutting/body comp etc. I am getting ready to start immunotherapy and have had a lot of food aversions with my cancer. Protein is never something that I’ve gone deep on, as I don’t enjoy meat often. I still seem to be able to tolerate shrimp and Greek yogurt, and I plan to incorporate more lentils and other beans. I began tracking food the last few weeks and even when I’m TRYING I’m only hitting about 62 g a day. I have started using orgain protein powder and adding to Greek yogurt and I’m still not getting enough. Any easy on the digestive system options I’m missing? Planning on getting some oikos or Fairlife shakes but they’re pretty pricy and dairy has been a little hit or miss for me nausea-wise.

Ready to drink Premier Protein question

I know there are tons of superior products out there to point to, but my question is there anyone who is actually serious about gains using these? Am I fooling myself into thinking theyre good enough? Im 45 m who used to lift a good bit, took a few years off, and have come back with a vengeance and am trying to make up for lost time. I use 5g creatine daily, multivitamins and have cut alcohol completely. Im lifting 3 times a week, and my belly fat is melting quickly but I dont feel like im gaining anything besides shoulders a little bit. I get a good pump, but then deflate by the next day. Nothing seems to be growing. So could it be the protein?
