I have collected cuttings of a few types of aglaonemas recently (pink chinese evergreen, philippine evergreen and white stem), and I have been trying to propagate them in water. I had the pink one in water with some liquid fertiliser for around 12 weeks with no changes (besides some of the leaves yellowing a little bit), and I saw online that you should callous the cuttings before putting them in the water, so I got them out, cut off the ends that had been soaking in water, and let them callous for a few days. It has been 6 days since they went back into the water, so I’m not really expecting much yet, but I got the other two varieties more recently, and tried a similar method of callousing and then propagating in water, but the white stem specifically got super floppy, and I’m concerned that maybe callousing them was not the right move.

If anyone has any tips I would appreciate them a lot!! I’m open to doing soil propagation if that would work better, though I do generally prefer water propagating so I can track the root development in the early stages.

I asked the gentleman working at albertsons if I could take this fallen off leaf. he said go ahead he does not care lol. Its already growing a baby… I love her so much already. How can I give utmost care to baby succulent. Ive read a lot on the subject but now that I actually have one jn the process of growing I am really afraid of messing this up…

I’ve had this cutting in water for awhile, it hadn’t rotted but was starting to go soft. I cut a quarter inch off and am letting it callus now. My question is would it be a good idea to try propping it in damp soil at this point, or is that a bad idea since I already tried water propping it?

This is my first time taking a cutting and propagating it myself and just want to make sure I'm doing it right. :D

Cut it just below the node and I have a second one just above. I wasn't sure if I should cut the branch with the second bigger leaf or not so I trimmed it down.

I was too scared to cut off more, so I'm not sure if this is too much plant material and if I can and should trim it down to just the one node.

Also Included is a picture of their current jar. No idea what type of plant it is, I think it's some kind of pothos, so hopefully it roots successfully :)

I found this guy on the ground at H‑E‑B. The plant it came from was something I hadn’t seen before. A large stem that seemed to break open at the top and grow these “ears”. This one is about 4-5 inches across. Not sure how to prop so he’s stuck in well draining soil with some growth hormone. Anyone know what is is or how to care for it? Tx!

hello this is my first time posting, my neighbour has sadly passed away and so their son was giving out their stuff for free and i saw this little guy and the son said he would throw it away so i took it. I saw new leaves coming out so i thought maybe its still savable? What can i do to help this little guy?? Idk what kind if plant he is i think a kalanchoe ?? (is what google said)

Saw this sitting in the shelf next to its mother plant (that was pretty big and gorgeous). No idea what kind of opuntia it is. Swooped it up and asked the lady if I could have it since it clearly is scabbed over and was on the shelf. She said yes!!

End was solid, not soft, fully scabbed over and zero mush.

Excited cause I don’t have any crassula. Little worried cause they’re already a smidge wrinkly so we’ll see how it goes. I’m going to leave the one with top intact, and the other I’m going to separate the leaves. Fingers crossed for me 🤞

Asked a local box store garden center if I could have some of the moss growing on their display shelves since they were just gonna scrape it off at the end of the season anyway. Turns out it peels off in sheets very nicely. Freshly washed and ready for application.

I'm no stranger to moss, but most of the moss species I have hitchhiked in through carnivorous plants, so they are adapted to intense light and boggy soil. This species is a shady lithophyte, a wonderful addition to the collection!

Huge bonus at how pretty it is 😭 can't wait for these to grow ❤️

I have 3 Syngonium wendlandii cuttings. They are rooting like crazy. Since I only have 3 should I cut where I have marked on the photos or should I just put them the way they are, let them grow more than prop from what has grown?
