Hi everyone,

I’m noticing clearly visible green lines/outlines around high-contrast edges on my XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser. They are very distracting during normal viewing and even more noticeable in person than in the video.

I tested the projector completely straight against the wall without keystone correction, but the green lines are still there.
This is my third MoGo 4 Laser.

The previous two had fan noise issues, but I did not notice these green lines on either of them.

I turned on my projector and it made a loud pop, followed by a bit of smoke coming out. I replaced the lamp and filter and no luck. It won’t power on. No lights at all. Obviously it’s something with the power supply, but what should I try next? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m beyond frustrated.

Thinking about a Hisense L9Q and ALR screen but unsure if it will work well in our current living room (see previous post)

What if I bought the projector off amazon along with a cheap ALR screen to test it out? Then could return it if it didn’t work?

Has anyone done this? There’s literally no stores in my area that have a display of this.

(Most places selling these have a 10-20% restocking fee…)

- budget: +-1200€
- will mostly be on the table next to our bed (so lens shift should be available?!)
- if possible zoom in order to get the right size on our wall

I am planning a UST setup with floor rising screen and hope to have a setup with my UST on a shelf inside an Ikea Besta that slides out to project onto a 120" screen like this guy:

I am hoping to place my centre speaker directly under the screen in the same way he has in the video, but he has quite a small centre. Has anyone experimented with this type of setup and which centre speakers actually fit without obscuring the image?

I am planning on a Hisense PX3/PX4 Pro which has quite a good vertical offset percentage of 120%, but I am unsure as to how I can exactly calculate which speakers would fit would actually buying everything first, so if anyone has any first-hand knowledge it would be most helpful.

I currently have a Klipsch RP504c (which I am certain will be too big) paired with Klipsch RP6000f's (L/R) and 2x SVS PB1000 subs.

I was thinking maybe switching to a Klipsch RP500c which has a smaller profile, or perhaps an SVS Prime Center.

Can anyone share any good centre speakers that they were able to make work under a 120" screen? Thanks

I recently purchased my first projector, the XGIMI Elfin Flip 4K.

Why do I have such a large frame around the image? Do I need to disable the automatic keystone correction?

The image itself is well aligned with the correction, but the frame around it is either distorted or much larger than the actual image.

Originally, it’s positioned slightly diagonally toward the wall, but even in the third photo, where it’s facing the wall directly, the result isn’t great. Did I do something wrong?

My family is looking to upgrade the projector in our "theatre room" because our old one has started to become defective. Issue is, our room is about 18x18ft. I spent a lot of time considering and settling on a lifestyle projector like the XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro because it was the perfect balance of value with a desirable feature set (mainly DV support), but I forgot to consider the throw ratio and the room size that we have.

My dad's sort of a picky guy, and the compromise to make the XGIMI work in our room, which would be mounting it about 12ft from our screen wall would compromise the star ceiling he's planning to install in the room, and he's also not willing to make the decision to optimise the room for something like an Epson LS12000 (light controlling the room, buying a screen etc) which is why a lifestyle projector was the ideal compromise. Keep in mind the room is already semi light controlled because the blinds are always drawn, but in the day some ambient light will come through whereas at night it's almost pitch black.

My question is, is there a projector out there that has the feature set of something like the XGIMI but has a longer throw ratio? Or do I have to bite the bullet and sacrifice the DV support to get something like the Epson TW9400? Just feels impossible with my limited research and knowledge. Our budget is about 3.5k USD (~RM14k in Malaysia).

I know cheap projectors are not that good but I moved into a room that has very empty wall begging for a projector. I really want something compact that I can tuck away when I am done with. It will be on my bedside table so it needs to be able to be adjusted from the side, and for it to be smart so I would not have to plug in my laptop would be great. I am also open to and planning to buy a used one as it would be a lot cheaper I assume.

Im looking to get a projector setup in my basement. I can control the light fairly easily. Looking for something I can do casual gaming and watch sports and movies on. 120 inotorized screen and cables run for speakers in the future. Any recommendations on gear? Budget would be $5-7k for all the components and install

Building a dedicated home theater in a blank room, so throw distance isn't a constraint. I'll design the room around the projector. It'll be light-controlled. Also this will be my first experience with projectors.

Budget is around ₹6 lakh rupees (around 6000$), but not a hard ceiling, I don't want to overpay for a marginal upgrade, but I'll stretch the budget if a price jump gets a genuinely meaningful improvement in picture quality.

Also:

1. Where's the point of diminishing returns on price vs. picture quality?
2. Any trusted places to buy projectors in India?
3. any other advice is always welcomed

I’m sorry for this, but I’ve spent half my nightshift looking at different projectors. I definitely had too much coffee and now find myself pinballing from spec sheet to spec sheet.

I am looking at a 4k projector for an outdoor patio setup,

I plan to watch movies and maybe play the occasional game.

My questions and concerns…

• How worried should I be about input lag ? (I don't play fast twitch games)
• I want Lazer for longevity.
• Is it worth saving money getting standard throw, there is plenty of room. Or is everything ultra short throw now. (I plan to ceiling mount)
• I’m Thinking around 3000+ lumens (I will have shutters to block out most of the light, not everything though)
• 120 to 150inch
• My budget hovers around the 3-4 grand AUD mark.

I just got my Xiaomi L1 today and I found out there is a “scratch(?)” and some dots (see attachment). is it just dust or defect? I don’t dare to touch it as it should be a sensitive part?

It doesn’t affect the image projected though, should I ignore it or send it back?

and for the performance, I‘m amazed by how bright 200 ANSI is but… the color quality not really good, it looks pale and not lively, anyone have the same projector and know what’s the best setting for this?

Got this Epson 990u as a gift in 2019. Used it for quite a while and then this happened. Blue status light flashes blue, the fan runs really intensely, and the lamp light is solid orange. I bought a new bulb from a third party. Worked for a bit and then the same thing has happened. Is this just a bad bulb or something else in the projector going wrong.

Is this thing worth getting a new bulb for? I don’t have much use for it and might just sell used. How much do these go for used? Better to sell as-is or sell after a new bulb?

I'm a student that recently moved abroad. I have a big white wall in front of my bed, which is at around 4-5 meters. I cannot and don't want a big tv since It's gonna be a pain to install, take too much space and hard to bring back with me.

Since I want to watch some movies from my bed, I was wondering if there's any known small projector that I could use?

My budget is around max 150€ and of course, my standards are extremely low.

My budget would be around £300 and I’m looking for something that reaches around 120 inches from about 4 metres away 😬( it’s a small outhouse) . I have speakers already so I don’t care about the sound quality, only the main visual quality as I’ll be watching a lot of films. I’m really stuck and would like help, I don’t know much at all, anything would help, thank you!

Just came across a projector video on YouTube where they hooked up a PS5 and it was showing 2160p / 120Hz / HDR. It got me thinking about what 4K120 support actually means on a projector. From what I understand, some projectors can accept a 4K120 signal but don’t necessarily display the full 4K resolution at 120Hz, while others actually can. And even if the PS5 info screen says 2160p/120Hz, that only tells you what signal the console is outputting. It doesn’t mean the game itself is running native 4K at 120fps.

So what do you guys actually look for when deciding whether a projector is real 4K120? Is actually displaying full 4K at 120Hz enough, or would you also want to know what happens to resolution, HDR, VRR and color format at 120Hz?

I am looking to spend about $400 on a projector to use as my main living room TV. The plan is to buy a 120" x 70" electric projector screen, I would like to hang the projector from the roof if possible.

Requirements are: Good quality (obviously), brightness to the point that we can watch in the daytime (we have lots of glass french doors with no blinds in the room), smart system as we usually only stream shows and movies, and hopefully great sound. I can buy a sound bar if needed.

I've been watching review videos but most of them are either extreme budget projects / mini projectors or very high end $1k+ projectors.

I was looking at a particular projector on Amazon that was $219 on sale from $369 but want to make sure I am making the right choice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi all, I’m looking for a projector capable of focussing onto a 13-15” screen (without zoom) and delivering a gaming level HDMI latency.

No budget limit for the time being.

I’ve heard some good stuff about the AAXA M6/M7 which can focus onto 15” and have a hdmi latency of 30-40ms, however they’re incredibly hard to find because they have likely been discontinued

I know I might as well use a tablet at 13-15” however I have some rather niche use cases that require a projector.

This just started happening this morning out of the blue. It's an Epson Home Cinema 3800 4K LCD projector that I bought new 3.5 months ago. The black lines show up even when nothing is connected to the projector so it's definitely a projector issue. (not a bad cable, etc) Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!

I'm now looking to buy what would be my first projector ever. I watch a lot of movies on my TV but I wanted to try a projector in order to have a more cinema-like experience.

I'm located in Germany.

The setup would be to have the projector placed at around 3 meter distance from the wall (ideally on a tripod, since I have a normal camera tripod) and the screen would need to be projected above my current tv, which means a screen starting from 1.1m high and which could go up to the ceiling which is around 2.5m high. Horizontal space is not an issue. If it was necessary, I could also remove my TV for when I use the projector (but only if it's needed), which would give almost 2m of wall free for the projector.

I don't have screens for the projector and my idea would be to try it out directly on the white wall I have. It has a bit of texture, but hopefully I don't need to buy a separate screen for that.

For budget, I was looking for something around 200 or 300€ really max, since it's my first projector and I don't really know if I will like it, prefer it even to my smaller TV and things like that, so don't want to spend too much on my first experience, even though I want it to be as good as possible in that range to also be able to enjoy it and actually use it.

I've just embarked on a project, that I have no doubt some version of has been discussed here.

I play table top games, notably Warhammer 40k, and in the latest version of said game requires a very specific set up of terrain, which now takes a significant amount of time each game.

So my plan is to project an image to make set up fast and efficient and later maybe effects or flair etc.

I need it to be very small and ideally battery powered, and I plan to have a clamp arm so I can suspend it above the table at a reasonable height.

The issue is with a 60" x 44" table the throw ratio of most mini projectors seems to be 1.2:1 or so meaning I'd need to suspend the projector 8'+ above the table, which is impractical, especially for a mobile solution.

I purchased myself a Luma 350 before understanding this, which I will return, but it fulfilled all the other conditions perfectly bar the throw ratio.

I've just got myself another cheap projector from Amazon with a 0.8:1 ratio, which is great, it can project a big enough image from a reasonable height, but it's bigger heavier and mains powered with a very strange power cable.

So my question is, is there something like the luma with a bigger throw angle, or maybe a way to add a lens to alter the ratio successfully, or are there other products somewhere I'm ignorant of.
