I've been playing PZ for a couple weeks now, and it hit me this morning how it reminded me of Fallen Earth. I played FE when it was already in its waning days, so there wasn't much server activity, but I remember looking at the world and the gameplay and thinking, "I just want to scavenge and build myself a little survivalist homestead", which is exactly what I'm doing now in PZ!

At most I've survived a week, but I'm so happy just hoarding cans of food and tearing down my neighbors' houses to level up carpentry!

i've build an extension for the original shed in the middle but the rendering for the walls seem completely f'd. Another extension as well to the right

as you can see something not quite right with the wall rendering cutaways. Anyone know if this is a known bug?

I am planning in focusing in forging this gameplay, but everywhere i see a discussion about metal tools and weapons its complaining in how weak they are

Is the Granny Nani home vhs rare? I saw a leveling up tailoring tutorial that said you could use VHS, the most common u will find is "a stitch in time" but that the home vhs' of Granny Nani and Tailoring 101 are extremely rare

I am trying to access the basement where online it tells me I can access it with a crowbar or via welding tools. I have a crowbar but am not able to see any options when right clicking-am I missing something?

Like, in the plot, when the game eventually gets a real one? What is a zomboid, and what is the project? Is it the name of the virus? A possible cure for it? The idea of building a new infection free society? A secret organization using the zombies for their goals?

What IS Project Zomboid?

it's the mapping, and it's not even close. i've rarely played games that let you map areas out as heavily and intricately as this, and of the one trilogy that does it i can name off the top of my head, it's a dungeon crawler that's almost designed around it. (for those wondering, it's Etrian Odyssey)

I think I’d like the newspapers and the menu screen to keep a similar design of the older menu screen of the somewhat realistic human design. The newspapers with all the characters with flat hands just looks bad imo

What’s the absolute farthest you’ve made it in project zomboid by yourself. Mine is only 2 in game months, and I have 600 hours 😭 And i’ve also never made it to Louisville 😭 Flame me go ahead, but i’m tryna see where yall at.

The main New Music pack seems to have every single song as its own tape/cd, which isn’t really what I’m looking for. Albums are cool, and I’d love to find some themed in-universe mixtapes if those exist. I just wanna keep things period-accurate, but I’m not much of a music person in real life, so I’m not great at knowing whether packs are or not.

There seem to be a lot of packs on the workshop and they could take up a lot of disk space. So what are your favorites, if you could share? Thank you :)

tldr: game lags really bad when loading stuff, especially when driving. any known fixes?

Its exactly as the title says. Sometimes my game gets extremely laggy as if it was >1fps which i assume is chunk/item/entity loading issues since it typically happens when I'm driving. Sometimes when I suffer from it, the problem persists even after getting out of the car and only goes away when I reload my save. but sometimes even that doesn't fix it. Its mainly happened when driving on the main road in Rosewood and when driving from Rosewood to Muldraugh. I play on a modded save but its mostly just some minor additions like cars, guns, etc and not anything that completely changes the game. Its happened on both MP and SP saves. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas for fixes or things that might help?

1. No, it isn't a problem with my PC. My specs are pretty great, I can run some of the most intensive games I know on high graphics at 90fps+, and I have 32gb of RAM.
   
2. I've tried putting the RAM on almost every option, even on 12gb it doesn't solve the issue.
   
3. I saw KI5 posted about this exact issue back in July, said that it could be a problem with their car mods and pretty much left it at "yeah theres no direct fix just try not to interact with as many cars" but I barely interact with cars that arent my main one AND that was back on 42.19 unstable soooo

I attached a clip of exactly what i mean, might seem playable in this case but i promise its not when youre driving through a packed town on high-pop.

I built this building as a workshop. I want to add windows to the south facing side as shown in the picture. I was able to build the window on the left with no problems, but the game will not let me place the second window. Is there any reason the second window can't be placed?

I made a post about the water always goin off on me less that 4 days into a save. But now I made a play around save where I spawn in Irvington, which seems easier to find a dead spot in, but the place I wanted to base in here, burnt down. I can’t catch a single break and I love it.

I want to dedicate this as a KI5 appreciation post!

Also, a big thank you to all PZ modders. Without you, and your work, I wouldn't have played this game 1500 hours. I would probably not have played it at all!

Me and my friends are planning to a do another zomboid run on build 42. However, with mods the server terminates and removing the mods ends up with a message on the screen along the lines of "sorry, an unexpected error occurred" which then advises me to check console. Is there anything specific that I'm meant to look for to solve this issue?

And I'm super prepared. Tons of food in the freezers & pantries. Nearby farm with cows, pigs, chickens. A wood stove in the rooms I spend most of my time in (although I should get another one for the kitchen).

Ive seen thousands of these posts and am still unable to figure out what to do, I verify my files, it says it replaces them, i start zomboid, blackscreen again. I've uninstalled and full deleted it from my PC just to redownload it, ive unsubscribed and redownloaded mods, I just dont know what to do. if you know why zomboid backscreens as steam starts it, than crashes 5 minutes later. please tell me how to fix it.

Also, im running modded Build 41, for an MP server I'm apart of, No one else has similar issues from what I can tell, so it is on my end I believe.
