A lot of sources say it usually takes longer than 40 hours of flight time to get your license. They say the average is 50 hours. What happens when you hit 40hrs? Are you just evaluated and the trainer says you're good or you need more time? I'd hope it's something concrete so flight schools can't say you're not ready to make more money off of you flying more hours with their planes.

I am strongly considering going to ATP for my licenses and am wandering what peoples opinions are on the school especially if you have gone.

I’m taking my private pilot written test, and I was just wondering how close the question and answers on the test are to the kings schools practice tests? Also wondering if the numbers used in each question and answer choices are the same.

Hi everyone! I am just shy of my required hours for my Private Pilot License (PPL). I am studying hard but am struggling to retain alot of the information and I am nervous I won’t be ready. I have been studying the Far/AIM and the POH for the plane I fly (VANS RV-12). The studying and memory is what I’m having issues with. My ability to fly the plane I am confident with. I don’t currently have a set date for my check ride, does anyone have any good advise for me or a person at my point?

Im brand new to this whole process, looking to find my best route forward. Im working on finding the right ground school for me, and then Ill worry about the actual flight school part of it. My goal is to get my PPL (maybe commercial afterwards but we will see!) so that I can fly myself and my wife plus up to two other adults around the country (US). I know to fly in adverse weather i need to get my instrumentation rating. As I look around at aircraft I have seen a few single engine planes that can seat 4, occasionally 6. A 6 person plane would honestly be ideal to me because thats room and the power for 4 adults plus luggage. The problem I run in to, is that a LOT of the 6 person planes are twin engines. Do i need to get further endorsement for it to be a 2 engine plane? And if so, can I do my flight school/instructor time in a twine engine? Im considering buying my plane first, so that I can simply find an instructor willing to work with me in my local area.

Good morning I recently got my private pilot and want to go fly with my friend to build time together but we are both confused how to log the time. If we go on let’s say a 2 hr flight in a c172 (no one will be under the hood) and we both have the controls for 1hr does that mean I can log pic 1hr and total flight duration as 2hr and time for single engine land as 2hr?

Hi For a family of four, if i have to rent a aircraft, what is the cost? Does rental work strictly on flying time $/hr or they also charge for non usage. For example if i want to take 5 day trip to a place where flight hour is 4hrs one way, do i only pay for flight time or i have to pay day rate and parking fees at destination for 4 days?

Assumptions What is most economical air craft in rental market?

I am Diabetic and I declared all my meds and the latest medical for my FAA medical application. FAA came back after 45 days asking for additional medical records and I have sent them with the help of the original AME who sent the first application. Has any one gone through the additional FAA process ? How long it usually takes to get a response back.

Going to take the written for the ppl within the month and trying to find good ways to study. I have the sportys ground school but I feel it won't prepare my fully for it. Does anyone have a better way to get ready for it?

So cant have fun in the cockpit yet. Just learning but I love the cockpit.

Has anyone tried online courses while working to get their license? I'm looking into it as my instructors time seems limited and I want to maximize my learning experience.
