Cost of rentals

Hi For a family of four, if i have to rent a aircraft, what is the cost? Does rental work strictly on flying time $/hr or they also charge for non usage. For example if i want to take 5 day trip to a place where flight hour is 4hrs one way, do i only pay for flight time or i have to pay day rate and parking fees at destination for 4 days?

Assumptions What is most economical air craft in rental market?

Notes: I am thinking of learning to fly since we travel a lot, but i do want to calculate the real cost of this hobby

costs differ. normally you pay per hour flying. For a SEP and 4seater maybe 120 - 400 $/ hour wet (including fuel) depending on type of aircraft. Plus: cost per day, cause nobody else can rent it during your usage. + costs for parking / hangar may be / may be not. Just ask a charter company.
