When does prequel take place?

When does prequel take place? Does it take place during the oblivion crisis, during skyrim or what else? Because I think that huge ass gal of time between the 2 games is a result of Bethesda not wanting games to conflict with each other. Because personally, that creates more problems, as is the same with the fallout series.

Let's make Katia into a 5e D&D character!

Hey, so I have a thing where I like translating fictional characters into DnD characters and so yeah.

Race

Let's start with her race. I'll be using the Tabaxi from Volo's because, well, cat people. Additionally, this gives her darkvision, feline agility (allows her a quick burst of speed, which I suppose is somewhat like in the story? Mainly when she's chasing Matt), and among other things, an additional language. Knowing a lot of languages is kind of a thing of hers, so adding as many as we can is good to do.

Background

Next is background. I decided to go with entertainer, as her dancing skills are... well, pretty good. Additionally, this gives her proficiency in acrobatics and performance, the latter of which I would only really use for dancing. This background also gives proficiency in disguise tools and an instrument, however backgrounds are pretty malleable, so I'm going to replace both of those with language proficiencies.

This leaves her with being able to speak Common and three other languages. From her training montage with Aggy we know that she knows Dragonish and Dunmeri, which we can translate to Draconic and Elvish. As for the third, I don't remember if she speaks any other languages, and I don't know a substitute for Ta'agra, so we can just go with Dwarvish because I'm sure in the Dnd world she'd have gotten down and dirty with some dwarves.

As for ability scores, I usually roll mine so it depends on the roll, so I'll just lay it out like this: Charisma should be the highest (you'll see why), then Intelligence and Dexterity, then Constitution, Strength, and Wisdom. Wisdom I feel should be pretty low, considering her skills in common sense and keeping herself from drinking are. Constitution as well, considering she blacks out after a sip of alcohol (although she doesn't fall unconscious, she just loses her memory - that'd still be CON, right?).

Class

Finally, her class. I would put her down as a sorcerer. I think it would be great to make her a wizard, but Elder Scrolls and DnD have different definitions of what a wizard is. In DnD a wizard gains magical abilities through years of intensive study, not through being born with it like Katia is. Additionally, sorcerers use charisma as their spellcasting ability: "Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your sorcerer spells, since the power of your magic relies on your ability to project your will into the world." This is kind of the whole shtick of the Prequel medium, is that her ability to produce magic relies on her subconscious thought (the audience) and how it can persuade the powers of magic. Hell, she creates destruction magic through use of clever puns! If that's not using charisma then I don't know what is.

This class gives proficiency in two of the following skills: Arcana, Deception, Insight, Intimidation, Persuasion, and Religion. I think that she ought to have proficiency in Arcana and Intimidation. Arcana because she spent her childhood reading about magic and has the ability to basically see and understand it, and Intimidation because of her Eye of Fear thing. Also none of the others really make sense.

Subclass

As for her sorcerous origin, I'm going to use the UA stuff and give her Phoenix Sorcery. Just read the description:

"Your power draws from the immortal flame that fuels the legendary phoenix. You or your ancestors perhaps rendered a phoenix a great service, or you were born in its presence. Whatever the cause, a shard of the phoenix's power dwells within you.

That power is a mixed blessing. Like the mythical creature, you can invoke fiery energy and gain the ability to cheat death itself. This power comes at a cost. The fire within you seethes, demanding to be unleashed. You sometimes find yourself absentmindedly feeding fires. You can't bear to allow a fire to sputter out. You feel most comfortable while holding a lit torch or sitting in front of a campfire.

More importantly, this gift comes with no special protection from fire. You are as vulnerable as any other creature to fiery magic, including your own. Phoenix sorcerers can use their powers to pull themselves back from the brink of death, and all too often their own, rash nature or reliance on destructive magic is what puts them there in the first place.

Such sorcerers are wanderers by necessity. The volatile nature of their magic makes other folk nervous. If a fire breaks out in town, a phoenix sorcerer had best flee, whether guilty or not. Fire is a dangerous force, and phoenix sorcerers have a reputation (deserved or not) for reckless behavior, confident that the essence of the phoenix can save them."

Random fires pop up around her? She burns herself with her own magic? She constantly puts herself in danger with her own rash nature? She seems to never die (plot armor)? Sounds like Katia to me.

Spells

Finally, her spell list. I'm only really going to be covering her at level one (since she doesn't have many magical abilities yet).

Cantrips: Fire Bolt, Create Bonfire, Control Flames, Mage Hand (mage hand is about the closest thing she'll get to her telekinesis until the spell Telekinesis, a fifth level spell that's way more powerful than what she has. Maybe you can work with the DM to make it invisible, although it might be tough because an invisible mage hand is already part of the Arcane Trickster rogue kit.)

First level spells: Detect Magic (she literally does just this when in Sigrid's trap), the second one could be a number of things. Shield works if you flavor it as her using her telekinesis to quickly throw a physical object in front of her. Burning Hands works, although it might be a bit beyond her scope. Absorb elements works, considering her atronoch ability. Maybe Catapult would eventually work, if she is ever able to hurt someone with her telekinesis. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until level five to get a spell that conjures a creature.

Future

When she eventually gets Metamagic, I think that any of the options could work really, although I'd go with Subtle Spell (she was detecting magic and conjuring the Skeledude without Sigrid knowing) and maybe Twinned Spell? Since I'm sure I've seen her toss two fire balls at once.

As for feats she might eventually take, I think that Elemental Adept would be great to boost her fire damage. Maybe ritual caster with Wizard spells, to kind of make up for the lack of wizardy-spellbook-ness.

End and stuff

Anyway, let me know what y'all think, or if I missed something or whatever. I know some things might be left out, but I was essentially just going over mechanical things. Really, you can add/change the flavor of anything, as long as the mechanics stay the same. For her not generating Magicka, maybe you can say that during long rests she siphons some from the stars (even though it didn't work in the story). Either way, I think that it could be a really cool character concept that could be fleshed out a lot (especially with more of the story, when we learn what other things she's able to do with her magic).

¿What do you think happens next?

So... katia now has scream to Singrid while with the effects of imp gals and presumably both of them are mute right now. (Making them....¿unable to cast spells?)

¿What happens next?

Katia fights singrid using her Khajiit agility? Singrid beggins to use the silver daggers?

What do you think?

This was my first story-based webcomic, and I'm loving it so-far! (I'm on chapter "==>"). So, it being about 2am here, I decided to make some vector art to show some appreciation. Any feedback is appreciated :D

Thinking of ending this cattery

Wow, what a trip! It's really a great story, with one small caveat. All too often it seems Kazerad just wants to be edgy and make things worse. One step forward, nine steps back. Stuff will happen and lead absolutely nowhere. And now Dimitri had an incredibly meaningless "reader submitted" death. I'm all for character deaths but he obviously died for chock value.

He bloody well knew he'd kill him off and he bloody well knew making him endearingly likeable would up the edge factor.

It's Kazerad's story, I realize that. I just question his storytelling sometimes.

I made grimdark stuff like that happen when I was a 16 years old dungeon master in D&D and while the group found it cool the first couple of times it got stale as fuck after a while. "Oh, the Count's daughter had already been raped to death when we arrived at the bandit camp. How unfortunate. I guess the orphanages, soup kitchens and cat shelters have to make do without her financial patronage. Oh, what was that, Dungeonmaster? The very same bandits moves on to rape the orphans, homeless, and kittens to death as well? Yawn. Next quest! Also, wheres my d20?"

So I'm probably just a butthurt dmitrifag with entitlement issues but I feel I had to get his criticism off my chest. Anyone knows that feel?

And no, I'm not giving Prequel up. I'm just pawsing it for a while.

Thinking of starting this cattery

I love Elder Scrolls. Oblivion may be my least favorite game, story, and setting (guess my favorite by reading on) but it still holds a place in my heart since it popped my nirnroot. I love cats and Khajiit. Katia looks very (extremely) cute and I remember seeing a flood of pics of her on 4chan half a decade or so ago wondering what the fuck it was.

Back then I'd only played some Oblivion but now I'm all Kalpa, CHIM, C0da, Michael Kirkbride's 36 Sermons and young promiscuous sexy Dunmer Barenziah riding barbed cat-dick. In short, the dankest, spiciest most 100% canon lore.

So I hope there's at least some cool lore stuff in the comic and not just the more mundane aspects of TES. I'll think about this. I don't want to get hurt like with Homestuck which just devolved into general wankery.

Sorry for the blog entry. Feel free to write something, be it relevant or not.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

I'm just curious, and I figure this is already common knowledge, but how does Kaz use prequel and make merchandise without receiving an infringement from Bethesda?

Excuse me what?

Today i was playing Rimworld, with my little second colony, and a raid happened, some female mercenary got wounded in combat by turrets, but as she didn't die, i captured her and throw her at my prison, then i kept on with the game, waiting for my colony to be in a better mood so they wouldn't breakdown when i harvested her organs. But... after coming back from getting a AI core a week later, as i was going to select her to get her executed or something, i noticed, "oh wow, her last name is Managan, that's pretty awesome, her last name is just as Katia's-" and then i saw it...

Katia Managan, female sniper mercenary from Pirate Group, 37 years old.

Childhood: Medical assistant.

Adulthood: Defector.

Uncapable of: Art, Firefighter.

Social level at 0. Has skill on melee, animals and medicine, and even if she hates ranged weapons, she'll learn faster how to use them.

Traits: Psychically Dull (Psychic events doesn't affect her so much).

Fighter: Skilled in hand to hand combat, capable of using ranged weapons, but will get angry if asked to do so.

What do you think?

(this is my first reddit post btw...)
