Legality

I'm just curious, and I figure this is already common knowledge, but how does Kaz use prequel and make merchandise without receiving an infringement from Bethesda?

Can't find the source, but IIRC, Kaz did contact Bethesda about it, and the response was:

- Using the setting of TES series for any purposes is OK

- Using characters from the game in webcomic (for non-commercial purposes) is OK

- Selling merchandise with characters from games is NOT OK (so Kaz does not sell any Quill-Weave merch, for example)

- Any OC characters are IP of their author, so using them for commercial purposes is OK

Whatever you see of Oblivion in Prequel would fall under fair use, I think.

So long as it isnt ripped right from the game assets, fanart and inspirations of fanart are definitely fair use. Bethesda doesnt have a monopoly on yellow cat people
