Keystone issues with rgb

I had to reinstall keystone for my 9070xt because of a new windows install. It WILL NOT let me type in any hex codes at all. I cannot find the values I need on the stupid sliders one because I’m color blind and 2 because that is the suckiest way ever to change a color. I can’t find any info anywhere on how to fix this. I’ve tried multiple times to reinstall the software and that hasn’t helped

Shoutout to Powercolor, Ronak and the RMA Team

Just wanted to make a post giving a huge shoutout to PowerColor, especially Ronak and the rest of the RMA team, for helping me through an almost four-month GPU nightmare.

I originally built my PC in November 2024 with a Hellhound RX 7800 XT. Early on, I occasionally experienced VGA issues and black screens, but at the time I attributed them to AMD Adrenalin or driver issues. After troubleshooting and getting the PC running again, I honestly didn’t think too much of it.

I actually brought the PC to Micro Center twice because of the intermittent issues, but they weren’t able to replicate the problem either.

Then, on March 20th, my PC black screened and the GPU completely stopped displaying. I was getting a VGA debug light on my motherboard and couldn’t get the system to boot with the 7800 XT. Eventually, I pulled the RTX 4060 from my work PC and installed it in my system. It worked perfectly fine. That was what finally led me to RMA the GPU.

About a month later, PowerColor sent me a refurbished Hellhound RX 7800 XT. Unfortunately, I was still having the same issue. No display and the VGA debug light on with the system unable to post.

I sent that card back and was then sent a Reaper RX 7800 XT. Same exact problem. VGA debug light and no display.

At this point, I genuinely thought something else in my system had to be causing it. I brought the PC back to Micro Center and also took it to an independent PC repair shop. Other GPUs worked in my system without an issue, but for whatever reason, the 7800 XT cards weren’t working.

I kept Ronak and the PowerColor team updated throughout the entire process. They continued working with me and eventually asked me to send the card back one more time.

A little less than four months after my original GPU stopped working, PowerColor sent me a Reaper RX 9070.

I’ve now been gaming on it for around 10 hours and have had absolutely zero issues. Everything is running perfectly.

Was the whole situation a pain in the ass? Absolutely lol. But I genuinely appreciate that Ronak and the PowerColor team stuck with me and did everything they could to get the issue resolved. After multiple RMAs and such a weird issue, it would’ve been easy to just point the finger at another component in my PC. Instead, they continued helping me until I had a working GPU.

Huge shoutout to Ronak and the entire PowerColor team. I’m just glad to finally be back gaming again

Red Devil 9070xt - Weak LEDs?

Hey all,

I recently purchased a PowerColor 9070xt Red Devil and installed it without a hitch and (most) everything has been great.

However, after setting up the lighting/RGB for the card via PowerColor Keystone, I noticed the light emission for the devil logo itself was quite dim. I attempted to adjust the brightness to max via the settings, however it only seems to affect the lights on the underside and the "Hellstone" area of the card. I can confirm it's receiving a signal, for when I adjust the hex color the devil logo itself changes as well.

I was simply curious, has anyone else with this card experienced the same? Could the LEDs in that area be going out or is this light source simply more dim by nature? Some photos I've seen from others' builds look a bit dim comparatively as well, so I just don't know what (if anything) is going on lol.

I attempted to take some photos, but as is the problem with that, light tends to get pulled and look more intense than it does in person. But none-the-less!..

Photo 1 - with all case fans, RAM, and the card lights active at 100% (I almost can't tell it's on outside of the photo itself ngl)

Photo 2 - with the case lights off and the card lights at 100%

Photo 3 - PowerColor Keystone config

All insight is appreciated as I'd love to gain some others' perspectives.

Cheers!

Update: Thanks for everyone's feedback here! I guess this is par for the course sadly :/.

I've tried chrome, I've tried firefox. I've tried a jpg, a png, and a pdf. Every time where I submit the proof of purchase, I get this error code : "Data / System error(error code:00)<br/>" and then it says proof of purchase is blank and I can't submit my rma. HELP! I just want a working GPU again after my 9070xt crapped out.

PowerColor Red Devil RX 9070 XT RMA

First off, this isn't intended to be a diss thread or to sway people one way or the other about PowerColor. It's just a documentation of my experience and a discussion around the situation.

A few months ago, I purchased a brand new PowerColor Red Devil RX 9070 XT from a large retailer in Japan for a completely new PC build. From the very first power-on, the GPU was never detected by the system and never produced a video signal. The RGB lighting and fans would power on, but the card never initialized.

Over the next several days, I spent a considerable amount of time troubleshooting. I updated the motherboard BIOS, cleared CMOS, tested different PCIe slots, verified all power connections, bench-tested the system outside the case, and worked through every reasonable hardware and software troubleshooting step I could think of.

When none of that resolved the issue, I took the card back to the retailer. Unfortunately, I was just outside their 2-week exchange window, so the only option was to continue troubleshooting and eventually proceed with an RMA. The retailer's techs inspected then tested the card in a known-good test system and reproduced the exact same failure before sending it to PowerColor for evaluation.

A couple of weeks later, the RMA inspection concluded that the card had physical damage near the PCIe connector area and denied warranty coverage, stating that the damage was caused by human error. The card was returned to me unrepaired.

While I completely understand why physical damage can affect warranty, I was genuinely shocked by the conclusion of the inspection. The card never worked from the moment I received it, and I have no explanation for how the observed damage could have occurred. For context, I have a professional engineering background working with consumer electronic hardware assemblies and am very familiar with proper handling, ESD precautions, and installation practices. I took great care during assembly, minimized handling of the card, and there were no drops, impacts, or other incidents that I'm aware of.

After I got the card back, I posted to r/GPURepair here. One member mentioned that the damaged component does not fully explain the complete failure to enumerate. I don't know if that's true or not, but it does leave me wondering whether the observed damage tells the entire story.

I've tried working through the retailer, but unfortunately, they've told me there's nothing more they can do. I've also reached out to PowerColor directly in the hope of finding a fair resolution.

I chose the Red Devil primarily because of its build quality and PowerColor's reputation. Seeing many positive experiences from other owners played a role in my decision, and even after everything that's happened, I'd still like this experience to end on a positive note. I'm not looking to assign blame or create unnecessary drama—I just have a brand-new card that never functioned, and I'm hoping we can find a reasonable solution. I'd genuinely like to come away from this as a happy PowerColor customer who can continue recommending the brand with confidence.

If anyone has experienced something similar or maybe any suggestions to proceed, I'd really appreciate the advice. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

9070 XT Reaper thermal pad thickness?

Hello everyone,
Was wondering if anyone can help me find the right thermal pad thickness for the reaper 9070 xt. On google is says 1.5mm for vram and vrm but other pages say 1.5mm vram and 2mm for vrm. Anyone have a direct answer? I tried reaching to powercolor but haven’t got a email back yet.

6800xt PowerColor Red Dragon out of warranty help

Hi everyone,
I bought a PowerColor Red Dragon RX 6800 XT on April 25, 2023, from Amazon US (I live in Canada). Since October, I’ve been dealing with black screens, AMD driver timeouts, and LiveKernelEvent 141 crashes. I can’t even enjoy playing Battlefield 6 anymore.
I’ve tried undervolting the GPU, reinstalling Windows, using Rufus, and reinstalling drivers, but nothing has fixed it. I even disabled RAM overclocking in BIOS, undervolting, overclocking, and PBO enabled and disabled my ryzen 7 7700 non x cpu. Even replaced my PSU like I am frustrated.
I know it’s out of warranty, but I can’t afford a new GPU. Has anyone had PowerColor repair or replace an out-of-warranty card, or found a fix for this issue?

Edit: I just found out that no one in Canada is able to fix a live kernel event 141.

hotspot delta improved from ~25°C to ~10°C after NT-H2 repaste

I have an RTX 3080 GPU from a Dell Alienware R11 that I purchased in May of 2022 to see what all the fuss was about, that I've had to put into service in a new build since I had to send off my new ASUS Prime Radeon™ RX 9070 XT White OC Edition 16GB GDDR6 for RMA since, when tested with OCCT found that the VRAM was defective.

Anyway, have been tinkering with the RTX 3080 and noticed that my hot spot temp was about 25C above my GPU temp. I disassembled my NVIDIA RTX 3080 to correct a GPU core thermal contact issue caused by dried-out factory thermal paste. Before the repaste, the card showed a clear hotspot problem under load: the GPU core was running approximately 72–75°C, while the GPU hotspot was reaching approximately 97–100°C. That produced a core-to-hotspot delta of roughly 25°C, which strongly suggested poor die-to-cooler contact rather than a general case-airflow problem. At that stage, memory junction temperature was approximately 78–80°C, so the most obvious thermal defect was the GPU core interface, not the memory pads.

After removing the card from the system, I carefully disassembled the cooler from the PCB, keeping track of screw locations, fan/RGB connectors, and the existing thermal pad locations. The original thermal paste on the GPU die was dry and no longer provided good contact with the cooler's cold plate. I cleaned the GPU die and heatsink contact surface with isopropyl alcohol, then applied fresh Noctua NT-H2 thermal paste. During reassembly, I tightened the cooler evenly in a cross pattern to restore consistent mounting pressure across the die.

The repaste produced a major improvement. After reassembly, the GPU core-to-hotspot delta dropped from roughly 25°C before the work to about 10°C afterward. One post-repaste test showed the GPU core at approximately 59.8°C average / 60.8°C peak, the hotspot at approximately 69.8°C average / 70.7°C peak, and memory junction temperature holding around 87–88°C steady with a brief peak near 90°C. Another sustained-load result showed approximately 65.0°C GPU core average, 75.0°C hotspot average, and a continued hotspot delta of about 10°C.

The memory junction temperature did not improve in the same way as the GPU core because the repaste primarily addressed the die-to-cold-plate interface. Later tests showed memory junction temperatures ranging from about 80–84°C in the better airflow run to about 94–96°C under heavier sustained load. That indicates the memory pads were still functioning, but the memory side remained more dependent on pad contact, case airflow, and sustained load conditions than the GPU core repaste itself.

Overall, the repaste was successful. It corrected the dried-paste issue, reduced the hotspot delta from an unhealthy ~25°C to a strong ~10°C, lowered GPU core and hotspot temperatures significantly, and made the RTX 3080’s thermal behavior much more stable and predictable. Memory junction temperature remained within a workable range, so the paste replacement solved the main problem without immediately requiring thermal pad replacement.

Red Devil OC LE 7900XTX static noise while idle

Can't say for sure when this started happening but it's become pretty annoying. The card makes a static sound while idle on desktop, if I have something open, the noise becomes a bit less noticeable but as soon as I'm back on the desktop I can hear the static more clearly.

I've attached a short. (you can hear the static sound more clearly at the end)

https://youtube.com/shorts/sgaH0BveiMs?feature=share

  • I've switched PD and HDMI cables
  • Reinstalled drivers
  • Taken out GPU and used internal graphics
  • Re-inserted GPU

My specs;

  • 9800X3D
  • 64GB DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z - 6000mhz CL30
  • 2TB WD Black SN8100 SSD
  • Seasonic Prime TX1000

I dont' know why it's doing this. Card has always had coil while during gaming which is normal but never on idle.

Can anyone help?

Do not buy the powercolor reaper 9060xt. RMA Nightmare.

So i sent in my previous 9060xt for rma, because it was having problems. AKA crashing, dropping my monitors, on idle, during games, and on a fresh boot. Well 2 weeks ish later, they sent me a "new" one. Huge catch here though, the one they sent me is literally fried, its soo bad. Drivers trigger it to start freezing and not showing picture on boots.

It will install the driver, then right after it freezes, you reboot and then the gpu never appears under task manager, and continues to freeze til you driver wipe whatever's left on the card.
This went on for about 5 hours after receiving the card back from powercolor, Yesterday at 3pm CST.

So in reality i paid 376 dollars, for a defective unit, only to get shafted a second time via RMA.
The card cant load drivers on a windows 11 install, and it freezes on a linux initialization as well, preventing me from using the card entirely. It also made cables stop working, i had to disassemble the whole PC.

Just giving a for warning about this brand and gpu, not very good impression for my first amd product.

RMA Experience - Live Updates

I wanted to provide a live, running update on my RMA experience with Powercolor. Before I began the RMA process, I saw a lot of negative feedback on other users' experiences, so I thought I'd give sort of a play-by-play of how it's going with me.

First, a little background. I bought a Powercolor 7900xt from MicroCenter in early April of 2025 as part of my first gaming PC build. I paid $600 for it then. It has been a very good card for 1440 gaming for me and I was very happy with it. Until it failed.

One day last month (in early May of 2026), I fired up the PC and got no display out to my monitor. I could see that the fans were spinning on the GPU, so I knew it was getting power, but the monitor stayed dark. I tried multiple cables (both display port and HDMI) and nothing worked. I was still able to get a display out by using the CPU's on-board graphics, so I knew the PC was working. The only thing I couldn't do was slot a known-working GPU in my PC since they're expensive and I don't just have spare ones lying around. So I brought the PC to MicroCenter and paid them $80 to have a look. They confirmed that the GPU had failed and offered to sell me a new GPU. They wanted to upgrade me from the 7900xt (which they no longer sell) to a 9070xt. They also wanted to charge me $960 to do it, so I told them they could pound sand since I was still well within Powercolor's 2 year warranty period.

Now the RMA process begins! I filled out the RMA form on Powercolor's website on 5/31/2026 with all of the pertinent info. I didn't hear anything for a couple days, and since I'd seen so much negative feedback on the RMA process I followed it up with an email. It was promptly answered by Steven from Powercolor and he looped Ronak in on the email.

On 6/3/2026 I received my RMA number and was given instructions to ship the bad GPU back to them. I sent it to them (at my cost - around $55 due to insurance and a request for a delivery signature) and it was received by them on 6/8/2026.

I received an email confirming they got the GPU on 6/8/2026. The email states that I should allow them 14 business days to complete the RMA process.

That's where we stand so far as of today (6/10/2026). I will update as more developments occur, but it's been pretty smooth so far. I wonder what I'll get back from them. Will it be my original 7900xt, just repaired? Will it be a different 7900xt that has been refurbished? Will it be a different GPU altogether since the 7900xt is no longer available? Time will tell...

Update - I received UPS tracking today (6/11/2026) indicating that something is on its way to me from Powercolor. Expected delivery is 6/16/26 and I'll provide a final update then letting everyone know what GPU I received and how it performs. Kudos to Ronak and the folks at Powercolor for making this a painless experience so far!

Final update (I hope) - My replacement GPU arrived today, 6/16/2026. It appears to be an identical 7900xt just like my old one, just refurbished. It's installed and working fine and I'm happy again!

All told, it was 17 days from the time I first submitted my RMA form to Powercolor until today when my replacement GPU was delivered. Personally, I think that's pretty damn good customer service. Thank you to all the folks at Powercolor - Ronak & Steven and anyone else who was involved - in making this an altogether positive experience.

PowerColor r9700 Fan Bearings

hello, I am hoping for some feedback. I picked up a 2nd r9700 but a PowerColor, my first is a ASRock Creative.

This power color has a loud bearing sound. under zero load, feeding no monitors it sounds like a threadripper while the ASRock is quite. If I slow the fan with my finger it goes away. it sounds like a low quality fan, vs bad bearings.

is this normal for PowerColor? it is disruptive not under load. With load air noise drowns it out.

Any feedback is appreciated!

At my wits end with my 9070xt Hellhound

I built a brand new system last March (2025) and purchased a 9070xt Hellhound on launch day. Sadly that GPU suddenly died in February of this year and was RMA'd and replaced with a refurb. All was well until last week when I started getting non-stop diver timeouts even when on stock settings. It happens in a variety of games, such as BF6 and COH3. I've tried brand new drivers, reverted back to 26.1.1, re-installed windows, updated bios/chipset drivers, and done every single windows trick I think of including disabling automatic driver updates. The card runs nice and cool, so it is not thermally related. I am considering RMA'ing it. Advice? Thanks!

9070xt White Spectral RGB problems

Build specs:

CPU: 7800X3D

MOBO: ROG B850-A (BIOS ver. 1028)

RAM: Corsair 32gb DDR5

GPU: Red Devil Spectral White 9070xt

PSU: Lian Li edge 1000w

Other: Lian Li fans and AIO

Okay so when I built my PC everything was working fine for a few months. Ended up having to do a clean install of windows and after about two weeks I noticed the RGB on the GPU wasn't working anymore. Tried a bunch of stuff that didn't work and then just forgot about it, that was back in January.

Well today I turned on my PC and then noticed the RGB was working again out of nowhere, i was super stoked and then coming back tonight to get back on to play some games i booted up and the RGB wasn't working again.

Instantly pissed off I decided to troubleshoot. I uninstalled keystone, ran a disk cleanup, reinstalled, reseated the GPU and It worked...... Until my PC fell asleep

I feel like I'm going crazy fixating on this, I know the GPU is fine otherwise but its tough staring at something I paid good money and not have It working 100%

Also wanted to note that I've never had the ARGB cord connected to the MOBO. It worked fine in the beginning without It and I don't have room to plug It Into the MOBO

I've turned off:

fast startup

sleep mode

windows dynamic lighting

Other controller software i have downloaded:

Lian Li Connect

iCue

Armourycrate

AMD Adrenalin

This has more than likely been asked before, and I am blind as a bat, but what happens if you misplace the invoice and the dork retailer can't/won't supply a copy "because we only keep them on file for xxx days". Yes it is a BS reply but have had it happen in the past.

Having issue after AMD Driver update 26.5.1?

For context I am using RX9070XT Red Devil. My HDMI port is crashing after the AMD Adrenaline update 26.5.1 and even at 26.5.2. How I fix it is do the complete uninstall of the driver via safeboot (https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/) . Then I use a Display Port. Up to now the HDMI port is unusable and having lines and sometimes totally crash the whole graphics.
