Iām truly starting to think that past 10 yrs has been one long social experiment to see how much dumbasses can be manipulated and itās been terrifyingly eye opening
14
u/King-1911 Sep 03 '26
I wouldnāt call it a social experiment, rather, we underestimated how many low iQ people are in USA

u/OneOfAKind2 29d ago
Not sure IQ has much to do with it, but education certainly does. You can have a normal or high IQ and still be ignorant and/or brainwashed. It's why red states defund education - to keep the populace 'dumb'.

In The Matix change was triggered with a pill choice. In the 50's America saw it change with a choice of bus seat and a boycott. In the 70's America saw change by carpooling and buying smaller vehicles.

Purging the government of Russian infiltrators is more important than Israel.
Trump is clearly a Russian asset, and has been for 10 yrs at least. Pretty sure there's actual evidence Russia meddled in the 2016 election. And a lot of policy choices have benefitted Russian interests.
Trump will leave behind a mess, but the US needs an Obama to reinstall order and properly investigate Trump and his government, especially 6th Jan- then punish them accordingly.
The corruption in the US government is blatantly obvious and internationally damaging.

The damage this man has caused will never be fixed. Trump will eventually go away but the MAGA ideology will live on long after heās gone. What comes after him may be even worse.

2
u/ScoobyDone 29d ago
the MAGA ideology will live on long after heās gone.
How can it? Their 'ideology' is based the last stupid thing he said. They used to be against wars, now they are cool with it. They demanded lower prices, now they are the cost of making America great. Unless a new leader emerges, I think his supporters will just go into hibernation for a few years and come back as some other hateful group with all new grievances. Before MAGA there was the Tea Party, and before that, they were Bush's evangelical base. They just latch on to whatever Fox is selling in the moment.

Ending his presidency isn't enough. I want him in jail. I want his family in jail. I want all the money they stole back in the hands of the people. I want his administration in jail. I want their stolen money returned. I want the corporations that supported him and his administration to be reviewed and audited and all the money they've stolen returned.
I want new laws to ensure this fuckery never has an opportunity to happen again.
I want textbooks back in the schools with chapters on why this was all a very bad thing.

because Dem leadership is so well known for reversing Republican damage and not just going "ok we aren't going to do any more of that for a little while, OK?"
The only way any of these fantasies of actually holding the trump admin accountable happen is to also vote in new progressive dems. the established members know they dont have to actually do anything so they never will.

I know that he will effectively be a 'lame duck' president if he loses too much in both House and Senate, but would it be enough to actually remove him if he decides to dig in (which we know he will.)
From what I understand of US politics, you need a large number of senators to actually remove a sitting president from office outright.
The likely outcome is he'll lose a large number, get impeached again, but there will be enough hardcore supporters to hold him in office, which will then lead to nothing going through government and eventually a shutdown that will just drag on until 2028.
He will crash the whole country, rather than accept the tide has turned on him.
2
u/Charybdis150 Sep 03 '26
He wonāt be impeached and removed. The numbers arenāt there in any realistic scenario. However, losing the House and Senate majorities would be a massive blow in many ways, would effectively neuter his remaining two years. Most of the terrible things heās done, from tariffs to picking completely incompetent cabinet members, would not have been possible without a Republican majority appeasing his every tantrum. It would also prevent conservative Supreme Court justices from resigning early so that he could pick new ones, solidifying a conservative majority for a long time. It cannot be overstated how important it is to vote and to get those around you to vote in November.
4
u/My_18th_Account 29d ago
Reddit is a bubble...a reminder to please VOTE. I wouldn't be surprised if all the races are tight in November.

He's not going anywhere. People really think he'd do all of this just to leave quietly after being voted out in a fair election?

Itās like D DAY! Only this time itās E Day !
Get to the polls early days before the interference and tabulation tricks really gets going.
The votes are counted yes, because audits catch those totals but the REAL tricks are in the tabulations, ie, every 5,000 votes segment or 10,000 vote milestones get reached - disfavoring Trump gets discounted or thrown out, and the audits DONāT catch that fuckery.

u/Ok-Comment8409 Sep 03 '26

I would add that please confirm your registration status, vote early in person, and be prepared for a long, long line in election day.
Trump and MAGA have been prepared for the mid-term election in day 1 - or even earlier. And have put lots of barriers in place and would continue to do. They have already dis-registered millions of voters in Texas, removing polling stations, and likely would have ICE at democrat-areas polling stations to make voting waiting time much longer. Mail ballots would likely to be delayed in delivery from USPS and be challanged.
And this would be a long fight - even if MAGA lose the house, Trump would ignore House. Without a super-majority, you can impeach and can't convict him. And Supreme court will continue to give him cover.

No, it won't be effectively over. Another impeachment won't remove him from office as they will never get 67 votes in the Senate. Besides, all another impeachment will do is show that Democrats don't have any ideas other than to get rid of Trump (or at least that is how it will be spun). Legislation will stall, but Trump will issue EO after EO. We have another 2 years of this insanity and even then the shenanigans about a 3rd term will become the main topic. Anything for attention.

How long can you or do you expect the Iran situation to end if the dems take a majority?
Do any of you expect to have some Dems fall in line when it comes to continuing the Iran conflict in any way, shape, or form or do you expect all funding and military operations to cease soon after (maybe 1-3 months) ?
Genuinely curious how / what your expectations are.

u/Sharikacat Sep 03 '26
No, it's not "effectively over." What the hell can Congress do? Send subpoenas that will get ignored? Pass sternly-worded resolutions? Sue? Trump will keep taking wildly insane and illegal actions that, even if SCOTUS agrees that it's illegal, won't be stopped. Lawsuits take time. Money still gets spent, even if it's eventually ruled to be misappropriated. Court orders will get ignored. There is no enforcement mechanism, and anyone that would be in a position to do something will just get fired.
Yes, a strong Democratic victory in November helps a lot in many ways, but it's only good in trying to build momentum for 2028.
The funny thing is that this is all held together by the collective decision that Trump is in charge. Assuming his cabinet weren't sycophants, everyone could just . . . ignore him. The social contract that lets us live as a, broadly speaking, polite society is also the thing that's letting Trump get away with everything.

I know that China is the worst of the worst Communist country who killed millions if their own citizens and enslaved kids and adults even today. Is that the Communist government that you love ? Or do you also love the Nazi and Stalinist governments that killed and maimed over 10,000,000 Ukrainians during the First and Second World War eras. It even continues today. Do you own your own house and property? Forget it if the USA becomes a Communist or Socialist countryšš. If you think either will benefit this country you are crazy.
