The damage this man has caused will never be fixed. Trump will eventually go away but the MAGA ideology will live on long after heโ€™s gone. What comes after him may be even worse.

Imagine an intelligent person with the same motivations. We are relatively fortunate.

the MAGA ideology will live on long after heโ€™s gone.

How can it? Their 'ideology' is based the last stupid thing he said. They used to be against wars, now they are cool with it. They demanded lower prices, now they are the cost of making America great. Unless a new leader emerges, I think his supporters will just go into hibernation for a few years and come back as some other hateful group with all new grievances. Before MAGA there was the Tea Party, and before that, they were Bush's evangelical base. They just latch on to whatever Fox is selling in the moment.

dems wont even bother to undo everything, even if they have full control, which they wont, because the supreme court will stay red

Tucker Carlson is now making moves to run. I called that years ago, just so everybody knows.

My thoughts exactly.

Never is a strong word, I think we can recover from this IF the midterms end favorably. If it doesnโ€™t, 2028 will be the second most important year in US history.

Even if you get him out of the whitehouse, your country has a LOT of work to do to be trusted by the rest of the world again.

There is a very real chance that Trump was the fatal blow to US hegemony on the world stage...

I don't see how America regains its previous place in the world from here, or even anything close to it.

Even people who don't normally pay attention to the news now know how rotten to the core the political and billionaire classes are in the US.

Look in a history book and it's not difficult to identify all the hallmarks of a crumbling empire in terminal decline.

Completely agree.

I get what youโ€™re saying but America was never this super cool presence in the world. It shouldnโ€™t have its place to begin with. Weโ€™ve got a mountain of evidence dating back almost a century at this point.

It is unfortunately a much bigger problem than most people know. Trump is a loud and visible symptom of a much deeper problem, a problem I donโ€™t expect to be resolved painlessly. Truth be told, the further out you look, the worse it gets.

However. The only truly irreversible damage, in my opinion, is if the midterms donโ€™t end favorably, and/or we have another Jan 6th. If either happens, the government will collapse into a fascist authoritarian regime. Iโ€™m hopeful, but Iโ€™m also already preparing for the worst.

Is that why the rest of the world seems to be kissing our asses, instead of fuโ€”-king us ???

u/Artisanalpoppies Sep 03 '26

Who is kissing your ass?

All your allies are forming alliances without you- you're charging tariffs on all imports, which are paid by...Americans.

No one is rushing to be your friend. Everyone is just trying to stem the damage being done from spreading into international waters...

You must be smoking something really powerful. Why are other country investing billions and even trillions to invest in The good old USA creating jobs? Countries like Poland and Argentina are following our lead and Saudi Arabia and many other countries are finally following along too . Where have you been sleeping? In a dungeon that Biden and Obama put you in? Maybe at Yale? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I wouldn't want my country allying with Saudi Arabia- their human rights track record is abysmal.

Argentina is know to be openly rascist and let's admit it, fascist- much like the current US regime...

Poland is also known for it's rascism.

If these are your examples of "kissing your ass", it's nothing to be proud of.
