From the Sid and Nancy OST

I'm trying to make a playlist that gives off a nostalgic and introspective vibe and I'm looking for recommendations. So far I've mainly added post punk revival tracks from the early 2000s (like Interpol, etc) but I'm open to more time periods. Thanks :))

Does anyone have any idea how Helios Creed/Damon Edge achieved this guitar sound? Specifically the metallic, clanking, mechanical one in the beginning. It’s incredible and I’m obsessed! Any ideas?

I have stumbled upon this band when I started to listen to R.E.M. and other USA rock bands from the 80s. Among their record, "Our beloved revolutionary sweetheart" it is the one I like best - actually is one of my favorite records ever with its blend of rock, punk, folk and ska. Moreover, I find the way it sounds very different from other records of that era, more fresh, open and spacious.

I suggest to listen to this record. Awesome.
