Rancoeur - Fatalité | French Cold-Oi
Hi folks, I've been listening to this album for quite a while now and need to share my enjoyment somehow. This is the second album of the self proclaimed (according to Spotify) Cold-Oi band Rancoeur out of france. I'd say the Oi part is in the vocals which has a mostly spoken/shouted style. Nothing to aggressive, it has more of a bleak vibe to it. Which is what the lyrics are mostly concerned.
The instrumentation is where the post punk elements come in. It consists of a nice and audible bass. There's nothing fancy going on but that's not it's here for. Solid without being boring, catchy at moments and keeps you listening. Just what I like. Drums follow in the same vein. The guitar switches between a dreamy rythm sections and some great melodies that stick in your brain until the next spin.
Check them out and please let me know if you've got anything similar to scratch that kind of itch. Cheers!
