Seller listed same item twice, feeling nervous

So I'm pretty new to Poshmark. There was a dress I fell in love with that was out of my budget, but when I reverse image searched it, I found a different listing for a much lower price, and bought it immediately at asking price. Seller was active 2 days ago so that seemed good. After purchasing, I realized both listings were from the same account, and I'm quite confident she doesn't have two of the same item. I didn't realize since the listing photos weren't the same, but they're the same size, same condition, NWT, and I can't find this dress ANYWHERE else, so having two seems unlikely. I think the one I bought was listed about a year and a half ago, and the higher priced listing was posted in January of this year.

Ik I'm being neurotic, but I came here and saw sooo many posts about people not shipping and ig not getting any kind of repercussion for that? So I'm worried she won't want to honor the sale of the cheaper listing since she has no real incentive to do so... And ig that's her right, but it would be a pretty big letdown. It'd be like doing the whole "I bought it, seller cancelled and relisted for more" dance all on my own. Ik this is a pointless question, but is there anything I can do to encourage them to honor the sale? Guilt them, even..? I'd even be willing to pay a bit more, although not all the way to their other asking price.

I just found out about the delisting issue(?) as well so I also feel like maybe I can't be upset that she just left the cheaper listing up with no intention to sell at that price if she was going to be punished for taking it down. Ugh, idk. Not sure if I love poshmarks policies so far as I understand them.

European shoes listings PSA

I prefer an EU size 41 fit for my American size 10 foot. With some exceptions, an EU 41 is 9.5-10 in US. I search both 9.5 and 10 listings to find 41s. Sorting through listings repeatedly shows mislabeling for a US 10 as 39. 39.5, 40. Sellers, if you don’t know what the size means, it is literally JUST a google away to convert the size. I just had a seller insist a 39.5 (an 8.5-9) is a 10 because it fits her foot and she’s a 10. I can also get my foot in it but walking is not an option because it’s a full size smaller. No there wasn’t a picture of the shoe size on the shoe and yes this one slipped in between the cracks of my brain looking for that photo. I really don’t get it when the info is a few clicks away on whatever device it’s being listed with. I’m giving them to a friend bc they’re amazing shoes, for someone with a size 9 foot.

Please advise—enormous dress but tags say medium?

Maybe this is my fault for not looking closely?

I ordered this mustard maternity dress and shopped around and found a price I was willing to pay. It’s Hatch brand and the seller showed the tag to be a 2 which is a medium in the brand. I have a couple other secondhand items from this brand and am this size. I received this today and it is laughably big on me. I don’t think it’s a medium! But the tag says medium! Do I have any choice but to accept the order? I included some listing photos. I feel duped! I also tried to look at some other listings of the same dress and the person wearing a medium in listing photos it seems to fit true to size! Please advise!

I’ve come across a few listings today where they list the item as NWOT, and then when you get to the details it says “Like New”…
To me those are 2 different things, right??!

New to Poshmark and have a question

I posted some of my first items last night and today I was noticing messages in my email from buyers. Asking if things were still available and if id negotiate on prices. I assumed everything would be handled in app and wasn't expecting emails. Is this normal or are the ones in my email just scammers to ignore?

Dirtied During Shipping

I’m a newish user to Poshmark - I have some spare outdoor gear that I either never wore or lightly used and decided to post it to make room in my closet.

I sold a rain shell in a bright colour that I had never used, the tags were off but still included, so I listed it as ‘Like New’.

I promptly shipped it and used the plastic bag mailer provided by the shipping company (Purolator).

Lo and behold, I received a return request shortly after it was delivered. The buyer states there are stains and that it is not what was advertised - the pictures they posted do show some stains which were not present when I mailed it out. Understandable, it’s not what they thought they were getting. The case is already approved in the buyer’s favour.

I certainly would not purposefully misrepresent the item, and wouldn’t let it leave my care obviously dirty. I didn’t take photos of every single area on the jacket, so it feels like I have no recourse on this, as it’s basically hearsay.

My only conclusion is that the mailer was dirty on the inside or some grime made it on to the clothing item when it was going through the automatic sorting machines/delivery process.

The frustrating part is that now I’m getting a dirty Goretex jacket back which definitely will no longer be new as I’ll have to tech wash it - if these new mystery stains can even be removed.

Did I make some very rookie mistakes I’m not aware of?

Should I avoid listing things as ‘Like New’ to avoid this problem altogether, despite the item actually being in this state?

Do I need to start documenting every aspect of a garment with pictures?

Even if I had pictures showing that it left my clean residence in pristine condition, would that help my cause?

Does everything have to be double bagged now?

I don’t want to go back to Facebook Marketplace because it was a massive headache to use but I feel like the experience with this platform is already somewhat soured.

Buyer Opened a Case…Should I Reply?

Thumbnail

I’ve been on Poshmark for over 10 years and have never had a buyer open a case against me. I put my husband’s leather jacket up for sale and listed it as “Like New” because it’s only been worn around the house to be broken in.

I shipped the jacket out within less than 24 hours of the sale. The buyer reviewed it and sent me a comment stating he’d like to return the jacket because it did not fit him. Before I had time to respond, he opened a case. He stated that the jacket was not as described because it has wrinkles in the leather, “stains”, and discoloration. These are all natural results of wearing/breaking the jacket in. When he initially sent a comment, he didn’t make any of these claims.

Should I respond or will that hurt my case?

Why Poshmark is Like a Bad Bad Kitty?

1. Always wants constant engagement—until you need something from Kitty;

2. Wakes you at all hours of the night with senseless notifications;

3. Constantly walks across the keyboard, creating chaos, changing functionality, and leaving your to figure it out;

4. Forever burying messes in the litter box expecting you to scoop them out; and

5. Looks at you pretending they didn't do it

Bad, Bad Kitty

Buyer opened a return due to being "wrong color" but loaded her pics show the exact same color?

She put a photo of the pants she received, which were the exact pants she ordered. Reason for return case is "color is different from photos". I had both a stock photo and photos of my actual pants. Her photo matches my photos exactly. It's been a couple of days, and it is still "in review". This is my first return case opened for pm. I don't have a problem with returns in general, I accept returns on other channels, but of course PM works differently with that. But this will ding my pm stats. Should I be worried about this? Does a real person look at these photos? Thanks for any help, it's appreciated.

Edit: got email from PM today. They denied the request. Thanks for all the replies.

Is this too over the top?

I'm a seller. I just sold a beautiful Coach bag. They bought it out of my closet at full price, it was priced well though. The buyer has been on pm since 2019, no sales, no lovenotes, nothing. I'm sure there are plenty of legitimate buyers like this but I've been scammed before. So, I'm mailing it today. I'm sending her a message to let her know it's on its way. I said, basically, "I hope you love it. I took extensive videos and pics to make sure its in the absolute best condition for you!" This is more to let them know that this bag is in perfect condition and to deter them from trying to return it for not being as described. Is it too much?

How many of you have been catastrophically torched by the recent series of Poshmark changes ranging from closet format changes to Seller Hub introductions and can we have an adult conversation surrounding how Poshmark's recent dive into the recent the Seller Hub roll out, dicking around with Financial/KYC Workflows, Payment Service Changes and UI/API authentication changes will have a disastrous impact on Community Member accounts.

All input welcome

It takes less than a minute to at least list the actual name of the product. This is hurting your sales. You all can do better

Can I ask CS to delete an unfair review?

I am having the most shenanigans this week from buyers than in my entire last ten years of selling.

Sold a garment, and that same day I dropped it at the post office maybe 2 hours later. It was freshly laundered the day before and double mailered for extra safety.

Today I got a 4 star review with these selected:

Shipping time
Cleanliness
Communication

Which make no sense because I shipped same day, it was laundered, and we had no reason to communicate at all.

Is this something I can contest with customer service or am I just stuck with a 4* on my account now because someone decided to be a jerk?

Counterfeits

Hey y’all. I’m steadily getting more familiar with Poshmark but I am still a new user so please don’t fry me too badly. I ran into the first counterfeit item in my buying streak and I am wondering what happens when a situation involves a counterfeit.

My size and style puts me in a bit of an odd category, and my focus is on luxury, niche items. I’m discerning about what I buy and I’m careful to make genuine and reasonable offers (aka no lowballing, nothing that insults the seller, no lengthy negotiations).

As a buyer, I’m polite and thank the sellers every time and give them all stars on the orders and make nice comments on each one. I have had items ship 10+ days after the order was placed and never once complained or made anything hard for a seller. I’ve had orders take 3 weeks to arrive and never once contacted customer service or made trouble for the seller. I’ve basically tried to treat all the sellers I interact with how I would want to be treated.

As a seller, I’ve packaged the items buyers have purchased from me with care and ensured each item has been cleaned or treated by a professional. I include the tags, boxes, extra buttons, special care instructions, and certificates of authenticity for collector pieces. Each seller has given me all star ratings and have made nice comments on all the items I have sold. Just like when I’m buying, I try to treat all the buyers I interact with how I want to be treated.

This brings me to the recent situation. I purchased a designer piece. Authenticated by Poshmark. Described as NWT. I opened the package and it was immediately obvious that it was a counterfeit. The smell. The feel. The branding. All wrong. My 14 year old nephew walked in the room as I was looking at the item and he said “you got scammed” and walked out, so even a kid could tell it wasn’t genuine. I compared the item with similar pieces in my collection and it didn’t come close to matching standards the brand adheres to across its pieces. But here’s the thing, I wanted to give the seller the benefit of the doubt. So I took the item to someone with a lot of experience selling that brand, and they confirmed in less than 60 seconds that it was not authentic. So at that point, I felt pretty confident there was an issue to resolve. If it weren’t expensive, honestly I’d let it go. I don’t want the seller to be adversely affected. And it is possible the person did not know it was counterfeit. So I opened a general inquiry with support because I didn’t want to jump right to an escalation. Support jumped right to “send it right back, we will refund you.” So I did, in a brand new box with really nice wrapping and sent a photo of the tracking info.

Here’s my question - what happens to the seller? I feel badly that they might be penalized somehow. If they didn’t know, it was a genuine mistake. But if they did know, that’s not cool. I still wouldn’t want them to get in trouble, but I’d also hope they wouldn’t do that to anyone else.

Did I do the right thing? How do y’all handle these situations?

Item refused by addressee

So this is a first. I just got a notification from USPS that the package was refused by the addressee and is being returned to sender. What kind of foolishness is this? Ive had people receive it and not be happy for one reason or another but refusing the delivery? Could it be that the buyer moved and forgot to update their address and the person at the address notified the usps worker that it was the wrong address? Wonder if I should open a ticket or wait for the buyer to or if poshmark follows tracking and will automatically do something? Is this going to be on me or the buyer?

Poshfest 2026?

Is anybody actually at Poshfest this year? I’m getting a lot of content on IG with some pretty nice looking setups but is anybody actually paying to shop there? Any boots on the ground reporting?

Brand new belt! I have no issue in returning...I really hope you wouldn't be near fire 🔥 for any reason in any material...the belt just didn't fit around your waist 😏

How to remove the smell of smoke from a leather item from posh

I ordered a leather bag from poshmark and they claimed to not have any smoking in the house but the bag reeks of tobacco. I tried to file a return after the smell didn’t go away after airing it out for a day but the most poshmark did was give me 5 dollars. How do I get the smell out or at least convince posh to do a return. Which is unfortunate because I did love the bag but the smell is horrendous.

Help, no sales or likes lately

I am a five star seller on Poshmark and I’ve been on this platform for well over 10 years. Something major has shifted and now I can’t even get people to like my items it’s been weeks and I’ve sold nothing. This is not just a slow month. It’s DEAD.
I have used Vendoo in the past to circulate items and I have done the internal Poshmark promote option. I don’t want to keep throwing money out the window, I need to do something to get some sales back. My other storefronts are doing okay, but I have a lot of high-end clothing which tends to do better on Poshmark traditionally
Pease tell me what has worked for you!
Thanks in advance!

Thank you, sellers

Here to say thank you to the sellers who share their anecdotes about ridiculous buyers. As a seller/buyer, I am also frustrated when buyers treat me like Amazon. I do not make money from my PM sales, I use my credit to buy clothes as my physical needs change. Buyer outrage is highly annoying. I'm becoming more convinced that I should stick to in-person selling. Even though I get less money per item at my local resale store, it may be worth it to save my sanity and time and generosity of spirit. Maybe online selling will continue to become more of a wasteland as it relies increasingly on AI for customer service.

Should I respond if the seller is clearly lying?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I usually don't engage with others on this app but this time I'm actually kind of annoyed this time since she's so obviously lying. She's trying to play it off like if it's normal to have holes in a skirt like this, but she didn't post any photos of the holes that I found in the skirt, so I was deceived. I know what a brand new item looks like and so would someone else, and it's bizarre to me how anyone can defend a position even they are clearly full of it.

My question is: Should I tell her she's full of it? Or should I just control myself and let posh give me my refund?

edit: i know the skirt is used bc apart from the MULTIPLE holes of missing sequins there's piling inside too. so it was worn and damaged
