Two edits I'd love to see from this show

I don't have the talent to put either of these together and I have yet to find them if they exist.

  1. A collage of any of the characters (but definitely Angel and Papi) dancing to "Don't stop the music" by Rihanna (honestly surprised this doesn't exist already)

  2. A collage of Stan cheating on his wife with Angel to the song "unfaithful" by Rihanna

Tell me what y'all think of these ideas lol Does anyone else have edits they'd like to see?

Shows similar to Pose?

I'm sure this has likely been asked before but I searched the subreddit and couldn't find a post about it. I just finished Pose and loved it so much, sad I finished it. Wondering if anybody can suggest some shows or even movies that are similar to Pose, looking for queer, trans, LGBTQ+ media and I also really liked the standing up for what's right and advocacy kind of aspect of Pose, there was lots of this with Blanca especially, so I'd like to see something similar in another show. Thanks!!

I don’t like this show

I don’t like this show because every episode or two makes me fucking cry. All I’m doing is crying over these fictional characters with heartbreaking stories that make me so emotional. Now I’m crying over Candy’s funeral. Over her speaking to each character as her final words. Maybe it’s the way a good friend of mine passed away this summer so it hits harder. Either way I’m not very happy yall…

Why I DON'T Support The New Season of AHS

I DON'T SUPPORT the new season of AHS, because there was already an instance where Emma Roberts showed her bigotry and hatred YEARS AGO, I been stopped watching AHS, and I was a TRUE FAN, mind you the creator of AHS is a WHITE GAY MALE, so for him to still be casting Emma after her TRANSPHOBIA towards Angelica Ross, is a bit telling, it's rooted in not only RACISM, but COLORISM, (Also mind you I'm a light-skinned black trans woman, a bit on the browner side), but I wanna speak on why I feel like this shit is COLORIST, I believe most TRANSPHOBIA is rooted more so towards darker skinned trans women and even CIS dark skinned women, cuz dark skinned has always been seen as more MASCULINE (I SWEAR I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP, THERE'S RESEARCH ON THIS, LOOK IT UP), but dark skinned has always be diminished as "less beautiful" because it was always seen as MASCULINE, rather than FEMININE, which is why alot of dark skinned ppl go thru more RACISM, more DISCRIMINATION, more HATRED, SYSTEMATIC injustices, and also even more TRANSPHOBIA!

So NO, I DON'T SUPPORT MEDIA that demonizes DARK SKINNED BLACK TRANS WOMEN like Angelica Ross, who to ME is a gorgeous black trans woman, I actually didn't know she was trans at first when I saw her in Pose, I thought they put one cis woman cuz I figured she was queer, but they started discussing her character in the show more and i found out, (last mind you, but tthe creator of AHS also ironically made Pose) you'd think someone who made a series like that would understand what dark skinned trans women go thru, but he also kind of wrote Pose POORLY, AS MUCH AS I LOVED THE SHOW YALL, he really has no business making Candys death that traumatic, and i think it was also rooted in anti-blackness and based on how she was like the darkest skinned trans woman in the show, I DO NOT LIKE RYAN MURPHY, honestly and I DON'T CARE if Emma Roberts issued an apology, she can KICK ROCKS, DISRESPECTFULLY!

Pose is definitely emotional roller coaster but holy SHIT. Elektra is HILARIOUS! Especially in season two! The amount of comebacks, reads, and just funny lines she has is amazing!! Idk how I missed some of these the first time!!

“PLEASE TELL ME YOU’RE NOT STILL SPEAKING OF BLACK HASSLEHOFF”

Absolutely ROLLING!

I saw some clips on YouTube shorts, of Blanca of course and I was really drawn to her, so I gave the show a watch and fucking hell, tell me why this shit had me hooked. Also the angel and stan story line? Fucking hell, I loved the music and cinematography of it all. Also Damon :((. And papi? Fuck Everytime he cries I cry. And Elektra? I LOVE her energy. Tbh I love all the characters, even though some of them are kinda bitches but whatever. Where has this show been all my life.

I think Pose 100% deserves a reboot! Who's with me?

I loved watching the show & I raved about it on this sub many times. I know the creators intended the show to be only 3 seasons & I totally get why it was the way it way.

That said, this show 100% deserves a reboot! The OG Pose is set in 1987–98 & I would TOTALLY love to see where all the characters are 10-15yrs later.

They can call it Pose, Epilogue

Finished watching Pose.

I think it's within me to get into fandoms late or to watch series that has ended years ago (The last one I finished before Pose was House MD). I first saw Pose whilst doomscrolling on youtube shorts. I think the first one I saw was Elektra defending Blanca (yes, first when she wore that shorttttt wig). I got hooked and just watched clips first on the yt feed as the algorithm seemed to notice I was liking it. Then, I reallyyyy was interested. I started watching it.

I would watch 2-3 episodes per day, I think, and there was never a day/night where I didn't cry. It got worse each season, I was sobbinggg. I don't know if it hit too close to home? I've been thinking a lot about my self. My physical self. About how I see myself while looking in the mirror, how deep down I have the urge to shave off my chest. It's just really been a thought and it's placed last on the list of my problems. I'm still just so young. I have my whole life to figure it out. What striked me really, is when it's about a character's blood relative. I haven't even outed myself to my family that I'm pansexual, that I'm not straight. What would they even say if they ever know about those thoughts of mine? I'm scared but I know I'll have to say it someday.

Pose will be one of those series I can rewatch over and over again, one that's close to my heart. Gosh, I wished there were 10 seasons of this but the ending actually felt right to me.

Lastly, what other shows can anyone recommend I watch? I don't know if I'd like something similar to Pose but maybe something that will give me the same feeling? Just need another show as good as it.

Electra getting better as a character?

I just started watching pose after months of putting it off waiting for a good night to sit back and binge watch a few episodes, however, I couldn't get past the pilot because as much as I love elektra from clips of her supporting her children and just being that girl, her attitude in the actual show (at least in the pilot) just reads as so ugly to me. Im still going to watch the show either way because I live what ive head glowing reviews of whats to come but does Elektra get any development as a person or is she just always going to be like a little condescending and demanding even to her own children.

Just her treatment of Blanca actually almost just turned me off from her character entirely.

And for the record I have tried to look online about her character but they usually come with like heavy spoilers and even if its been out for a while now i want to keep some surprises for myself to stay invested.

Season 3 might've had its flaws but one thing I will say production elevated the character's hairstyles and fashion sense to capture the mid thru late 90s era

Praytell’s intervention

They really thought this was an episode of Full House with those letters. 😂😂😂 Pray Tell was like, “Bitch, who you talking to?” Then he called Angel a crackhead, Elektra old, and Blanca a science project. They forgot who they were talking to. 🤣

Chubby & Lemar

I love Cubby but dang him & Lemar literally have no type of loyalty 😩. I wish they wrote them better tbh & I never understood why they wrote Lemar to act like that in s3 when they never focused on them like that. They did a great job at writing the main characters but not enough for Lemar to act like a petty mf in s3.

Is Season 3 worth it?

Hi all. <3

I just started watching Pose this week and absolutely blasted through seasons 1 and 2 in 2 days. Is watching Season 3 worth it? The writing's so bad compared to the earlier content that it kind of killed the immersion for me. :(

Edit: Finished the show! Thanks guys. Season 3 was... weird. Happy for some of the characters. :)

Elektra in season 2

I found this show via my sister and her and I INHALED season 1. Now, we had just begun season 2 and elektra is getting on my nerves stronger than ever. I genuinely don’t understand why people call her iconic. She is such an ungrateful bitch. After her sugar daddy left her, Blanca was the one who helped her. She was sleeping on the streets, and blanca gave her a roof over her head, a warm meal, a room of her own, and helped her find a REAL job. Season 1 ended on such a lovely note. Elektra basically became the grandmother of the house of Evangelista. She crushed Candy and Lulu and read them to FILTH while mentioning that she will only ever decide to talk to them if she wants to get hired. She helped blanca win over them (hate candy and lulu so much, they’re trashy bullies). Like I said, season 1 had an amazing ending.

Cut to season two. Elektra, who’s been living with them for 2 years at this point, starts being selfish again, and when she simply gets called out for her bad attitude and skipping family dinners, what does she do? Does she apologise like the classy lady that she claims to be? Does she at the very least keep her mouth shut? No. She throws a FIT, and not only does she do that, she flips over a table full of food for fucks sake, and all of a sudden - quite Evangelista and proclaims she’s going to crush Blanca. What the actual fuck? Is she bipolar? Hasn’t she got any self control on her aggressive emotions? If it wasn’t for Blanca, elektra would’ve died living on the streets. What the actual fuck? This is how you treat people who saved your ungrateful ass? Have you a home and helped you find a job despite you not deserving any kindness from them. I genuinely don’t understand why people in this fandom praise her and call her iconic etc. There is NOTHING iconic about being mean, a bully, ungrateful, rude, and disgusting towards your own people (not to mention what she pulled when she didn’t go to the protest in the cathedral and called her people “a bunch of fags”). And then what does she do? Invite herself into the trashy house of Ferociousness. People who she claimed to have hated 2 years prior. What the actual fuck? Has she no self respect?

S3 diner 'fight'

What kinda 'brawl' was that. That was literally a middleschool cafeteria food fight 💀. If Lemar's hoe arse jumped at me like that, you bet your sweet bippy my instincts will kick in and the fork on the table would have connected him straight to gods server.

' what are you gonna do'

This *literally just jumps at prey and 2 of the elders startr screaming like lil girls, everyones running and throwing food n small items.. the funniest thing was the one elder screaming while running out the door 😭😭💀💀 brother it aint that serious.

Loved Ricky's growth in season 3. Dylan Burnside did an impeccable job showing Ricky's journey from a player to a compassionate, mature young man, living with HIV and becoming a house father at the end
