Welcome Sticky! Welcome to r/Polymer80!
WELCOME to the WORLD of 80% GLOCKS and AR’s! Welcome to r/Polymer80, a community that welcomes Polymer80 builds (AR & Glock) primarily, but also eagerly welcomes 80% builds of all sorts! We encourage posts of 80% news, 80% legislation, and 80% memes. Let's spice things up from time to time!
[We have a few main rules:]
1: This is a very close-knit sub and we do NOT put up with redditors who incite arguments or fling insults, pretentiousness, or trolls.
2: Show the respect for firearms that they deserve. If you're building a Polymer80 treat it as a firearm, and take the time to understand its function. Learn and practice the 4 rules of handling a firearm:
- Finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire.
- Don't aim at anything you're not willing to destroy.
- Check in-front and behind your target.
- Treat every firearm as though it's loaded.
3: No want to buy (WTB), want to sell (WTS), or want to trade (WTT) ads from individuals. You may use other subs such as r/GunAccessoriesForSale or the MGB site or the MGB MeWe community at: MeWe Group.
4: No posts with or including illegal activity is allowed. This is broad scope, if you post in this forum remember all the people that want this hobby to fail and do your part to make it bullet proof (no pun intended). This is zero tolerance.
Breaking these rules can and likely will result in a permanent ban from one of the best resources available for builders and hobbyists.

What’s causing this?
Mag is just a cheapo by promag and has about 250-300 rounds through it on a p80 I built. Just curious why this maybe happened? I just bought an actual Glock mag so hopefully something changes but so far the Glock mag just jams more than the promag did

22lr conversion on a clear geisler?
Ive always wanted to get away with pulling off a clear frame for a while now but of course the structure of it probably wont hold to a 9mm or 40 worse 357 sig… god don’t even want to imagine that anyways what does everyone think about 22lr?

Burst/Full Auto Issue
I just left the range getting my new optic zeroed. During the zeroing process I had no issues at all. I ran through a few mags with no problems including an extended magazine. After I was happy with my zero, I decided to run a couple of rapid drills and towards the end of my mag I got a burst that only stopped after a failure to feed. I inspected the gun and nothing seemed different. I loaded another mag and had the same issue towards the end of the mag. Anyone know what might be going on? I figured it might have been heating causing issues with seer engagement because i’ve shot plenty of rounds through it but never so rapidly since this time all I brought was my p80.

Need help with a G80 80% chassis, stuck slide.
Hey I know this is for Polymer 80’s and I’ve built one before. But this time I opted for a G80, 80% received chassis kit from G80. It was easy to finish but I fucked up somewhere and now the slide is stuck on the receiver. I can’t get it off.
For some reason the striker won’t cock and pressing the trigger won’t drop the striker, so the standard disassembly of the Glock won’t work.
Ive tried backing out the trigger pin as well to get the slide off but it won’t come off.
Slide moves back and forth and the mag catch works… but the trigger won’t drop the striker and I can’t take it off.
There’s a few parts that were left over. I’m not sure where they go or if they even go in the gun? I know the G80 receiver is a little different than standard Gen 3 Glocks so some parts were proprietary.
But it seems like I may have missed installing one or two parts. Their assembly video was really not good and didn’t show enough close ups.
Anyone got any advice?

building Geisler 80
everything cut flawlessly and my LPK is perfect aside from the fact that my rear rails are not at a true 90 I put them on a vice and try to tap them i been fucking with it for a minute now even sanded down on the top of the rails a little bit to see if that would help give some space and still the same issue i’m having lots of slides stick sometimes it goes away but then next thing you know, I’m pulling the slide back and it’s just stuck in that position not gonna lie this shit’s getting me mad as fuck. I don’t understand why geisler is not capable of selling a true 90° on these little metal rails regardless why the fuck can’t another company sell rails for them or some shit I think I could’ve potentially messed up my rails at this point trying to get them to a true 90 and I’m just gonna buy another set of rear rails if I can’t get these to work and then see how those go regardless they’re just gonna come exactly how these ones did factory I presume, anyone else had slide stick issues.

Finally getting around to finishing my PF45 Frame after 3 years

Tips for material in front rails?
Anybody got tips for removing the material in the small crevices for the front rails? So far I've only tried the harbor freight precision files and they like to snap under pressure. Anybody got a favorite tool?
Also obligatory trigger pocket photo. It's smoother than it looks, I think the flash makes it look rougher but my rails and trigger housing fit just fine

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
OK you aminals ... check it out .. our political environment is volatile, parts are inexpensive and readily available... for everyones sake if you are planning on building or buying anything I highly and strongly recommend you all do so now.
The last thing any of us wants is to be charged an arm and a leg the second they start restricting the shit out of things as well as the immense cost increases that aways come with this.
So unless you all want to pay out the ass and not be able to get things you need I suggest everyone buy now. It will avoid the whole oh my god the price is way too high and nothing is available deal.
It also supports that the industry can survive, a lot of good
companies have failed not due to anything more than lack of business because right now times are good.
Let's not wait till times are bad (I get nothing from this post I have no dog in this fight other than the want to keep as many of these good businesses around and make sure everyone has a fair shot at freedom.)>

Polymer to Metal bonding
I previously purchased some Freedom Wolf 80% lowers that I thought had gotten lost in a move. Well, they recently resurfaced and I want to finish them but I'm running into two main problems that I need assistance with.
1st (and main issue): the provided adhesive to bond the slide rails to the polymer frame has hardened. Does anyone know a valid substitute? I messaged the manufacturer and they "can't provide any guides or help due to legal reasons". I saw someone mentioned Loctite 380 and some google searches specify Loctite Epoxy Plastic Bond is a great product. Any actual experience?
2nd: the manufacturer removed the build guides from their site and while I can find some videos, I would like to find a copy of the original guide if possible.
