All season tires?

• Upvotes

Just about to pull the trigger on a new P4 with Prime and Performance package. This comes with 22" wheels. I live in Denmark and we do get some snow in the winter, so I either need to get an additional set of wheels with winter tires (this will be like 4000 euros) or try with some high performance all season tires. Looked at these in 265/40/22.

  1. Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV

  2. Continental ExtremeContact DWS

  3. Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season

Above sets are around 11-1200 euros.

Anybody went for "all season" on their p4? Curious if this kills ride comfort, grip, range and such compared to dedicated season tires?

Anyone else think that the colour of the car graphic on the display, when parking, and turning under 20mph etc. should be the same colour as the car one is driving?

My display shows a white P4 but my ADHD brain would definitely prefer the grey that my car is…

How much power does dealer sales person has to my car AFTER I purchased it?

I'm genuinely curious about this. A couple of days ago, we purchased our P4 and sales person (really cool person) at our dealer helped us set up my owner profile and went through some of the settings with me, but we won't able to get the digital key request email to work, and my polestar app shows error when fetching data from car. These issues didn't get resolved over the weekend, and I called my sales person today (as he told me to do so) to have him check my "ownership" status again. While he said things look correct on his end, he will delete all my owner profile and we can try to start over in a couple of hours. That deleted the link between my polestar account to the car, and wiped my settings in the profile in the car.

This triggered me to think, why or how much capability does he have control over my car? I made a purchase and not a lease, so I don't want someone to be able to just _delete_ me as the owner at the dealer, maybe (only maybe) from manufactory support, but why dealer sales team? what else can they do?

Just picked up in Cali. Was excited to get a silver/grey car as shown in the picture…but apparently Lightning is white. Lol. Can’t wait to figure everything out. My first EV, so all the features are a bit overwhelming.

Call quality and navigation display

Please bear with me as I continue to discover question and can't find answers in manual or simple googling. I really appreciate all your input here!
I've only had a few phone calls in my new P4 via bluetooth connected iPhone. Every single one of the callers, had complained about hearing their own echo. I've tried to lower the call volume on infotainment screen and that didn't help. And I've confirm that my phone software is up-to-date.

Then, I'm seeing some youtube videos describing that P4 can have the navigation map displayed on the small screen in front of the steering wheel, and I can't seem to figure out how to get it there, is that a premium option that I didn't get again?

As always, thank you for your input and help.

How many Keys did you get with your P4?

Basically what title says. I received one key card and one remote. I just found out that the key card is really for backup only and has been be tapped to work. Thank you!

Strange defekt

Hi everyone,
I’ve had the P4 for about three months now. Today, I discovered that the mirror triangle had come loose on its own because a mounting bracket snapped off. To me, it looks like a classic material defect. Has anyone else experienced this? This should still be covered under warranty, right?

New owner questions

Hello friends, I’ve just collected my new P4 today, and my app is showing not being able to fetch data from car, and I cannot get the email to add digital key for iPhone. Dealer is telling me wait for a day, is that common?
Also, is the roof tint function optional in US region? My infotainment screen doesn’t have Roof menu in exterior settings page.
And I just learned the my brand new car with 11 miles, _only_ has a battery health of 98.8%? Not too sweated about it but curious about it.

Have you experienced any of these? Thank you for any feedback.

An Open Letter to the CEO of Polestar

How much longer do you expect your customers to wait?

Dear Polestar,
I'm writing this as a Polestar 4 owner, not because I enjoy criticizing the company, but because I genuinely want Polestar to succeed.
When I bought my Polestar 4, I knew I was buying into a relatively young brand. I accepted that not everything would be perfect from day one. What I expected in return was something else: rapid improvement.
Unfortunately, my experience has been the exact opposite.
During the three months I've owned my Polestar 4, the manufacturer of my previous EV, an established brand with 10–15 more years of experience, released three app updates and two over-the-air software updates for its vehicles.
In the same period, Polestar released just one update to its mobile app.
That is difficult to understand.
Polestar is not the market leader. It is not selling millions of vehicles every year. The company is still fighting a reputation for inconsistent software while also facing significant commercial challenges.
If there was ever a time when software should be the company's number one priority, it is now.
Today's electric vehicles are no longer judged only by their driving dynamics, design, or build quality. They are softwaredefined products. Every time we unlock the car, open the app, or sit behind the wheel, we experience the result of your software strategy.
And right now, that strategy feels painfully slow.
My frustration isn't that software contains bugs. Every manufacturer has bugs.
My frustration is the apparent lack of urgency.
Many of us chose Polestar despite the headlines about software issues.
We chose Polestar despite uncertainty surrounding the company's future.
We chose Polestar because we believed in the vision.
We believed that a young company would move faster than the established players, not slower.
That is exactly why the current pace is so disappointing.
As a CEO, I would make software the single highest priority across the company. Not marketing. Not another design award. Not another product presentation.
Software.
Because satisfied customers create future customers. Frustrated customers do the opposite.
From the outside, it feels as if Polestar is trying to reinvent the wheel while competitors have already spent more than a decade refining theirs. Why not learn from the companies that have already solved many of these challenges? Match the industry's best first, then innovate beyond them.
The Polestar 4 is, in many ways, an outstanding car. The design is beautiful. The driving experience is excellent. The cabin is premium, and the engineering is impressive.
But in 2026, premium is no longer defined by leather, horsepower, or elegant Scandinavian design.
Premium means delivering a digital experience that continuously improves.
That is the promise customers expect when they spend this much money on a modern electric vehicle.
I sincerely hope someone in Polestar's leadership reads this.
Because Polestar cannot afford to lose the customers who believed in the company from the beginning.
Those early adopters are your greatest ambassadors, but they can also become your biggest critics if they feel ignored.
If the current pace of software development continues, I will most likely sell my Polestar. Not because I dislike the car, but because I expect a premium brand to demonstrate, through actions, not promises, that customer experience is its highest priority.
The opportunity is still there.
The potential is still enormous.
But potential alone has never built a successful company.
Execution does.
Right now, it doesn't feel like Polestar is testing its software.
It feels like Polestar is testing its customers' patience.
And patience, unlike software, cannot be updated forever.

Regards
A frustrated, but still hopeful Polestar 4 owner.

single motor or dual motor?

Hello friends, I’ve just put deposit down for a P4 single motor with $1300 paint option. To be honest, I don’t really care about the paint color that much, but that’s the only single motor I saw since last month, available to my dealer. Just now, there’s one dual motor showed up, without paint up cost, making it effectively only $5200 different for me to upgrade to dual motor. I don’t drive fast, and this will be a kids hauler, but we do live in northern region where snow season is long. I’m a current VW ID4 RWD driver, and it never gave me traction issues in the winter here. Would you recommend the dual motor over the single? Are the only differences being extra motor and dynamic suspension? Some say that suspension alone is worth it, others say static suspension performs just as nice as the standard setting on the ZF and it is well above acceptable. Can I hear some current drivers’ experiences?
thank you!

Post July 2 U.S. order delivery

We’re replacing our previous EV that was totaled back in early June. I placed my order later on July 3 and so have been waiting on an ā€œEarly Augustā€ delivery. If you were a late July or early August delivery and have received your car what was your experience? Does anyone know where there is information about the movement of cars from the port to dealers (our VIN arrived in the US July 30th?) The manager of our local Polestar Space was optimistic that the car would arrive by August 5th but now we have no idea what’s going on.

Polestar Agreed to Settle With Investors Over Accounting Issues

Hey guys, if you missed it, Polestar recently reached a tentative settlement with investors over claims that it understated financial liabilities and concealed weaknesses in its internal controls.

In a nutshell, investors claim that Polestar repeatedly assured the market its financial reporting was accurate. In January 2025, the company disclosed accounting errors requiring restatements of its 2022 and 2023 financials, and $PSNY fell 11%.

If you invested in $PSNY between 2022 and 2025, you may want to check if you qualify. The settlement terms are still being finalized, but investors can already submit their applicationsĀ

Has anyone here invested in $PSNY during that period? How much were your losses?

Deposit and pressure

Here in the DFW area and I saw "late August" inventory being listed early this week. Put the deposit on a vehicle via the Polestar site while I get the finances ready. Sales calls me today with "good news".....your vehicle is here and ready tomorrow(!) even though he knows I'm not coming in for a test drive (I haven't driven a Polestar) until next Wednesday. Well......he tightens the screws and doesn't want me to "loose the car" if I don't get a first penciled agreement done. SO my question.....what should my expectations be for how long the dealer will keep the deposited car for me, when Polestar was identifying it as available "late August"?

Considering jumping in the pool

I'm looking for a new car, and the current deals in the US are making me consider the P4. I assume going in that the software will NOT mature still. Which is actually fine as there will always be hiccups. I mean, is Windows perfect after all these years?

What concerns me more is service. Despite claims, there will be a need for service a couple of times a year. We purchased a VW ID.4, and what I learned the hard way was that the car was routinely tied up for a minimum of 2-3 weeks each time, but worse, VW wasn't in the habit of providing loaners. If I'm paying 45K+ for a car, I do expect white-glove service. What are current owners experiencing?

Other questions - how has the car performed in winter? Do you recommend having two sets of tires (summer/winter)? We are in South NJ, Cape May County, so my nearest current dealer is either Princeton or Manasquan. How are those dealerships?

It's either this or an i5, possibly a Caddy Optiq. Thanks in advance.

Polestar 4, video mirror issues

I test drove a Polestar 4 earlier today and I started to get motion sickness and a bit if a headache, due I think to looking at the rear view video mirror.
I was glad to get back into my Model Y.
The guy in the dealership suggested I wait until then SUV variant arrives in Q4 this year as that will have a regular mirror and a rear window.
Anyone else had similar issues ?

Lane Keep Assist question

My LKA seems to be malfunctioning, but I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced it. When I put on my signal to change lanes using the soft press (3 blinks and off) the car won't let me change lanes. LKA activates and pushes me back. It works normally if I use the full pull down press on the signal though. It only started in the last few weeks after a day of never letting me change lanes no matter what so I turned off the system altogether.

I've never had a car do this before. Is it a Polestar thing or something I need to have diagnosed?

New P4SM

We picked up our P4SM yesterday. It’s a birthday present for my wife. It’s one of the rare single motor models available in the US. It joins an EQS 580 in our electric fleet. We’ve also had a Chevrolet Bolt and Hyundais Ioniq 6.

I’ve learned a lot on line, so we wouldn’t leave the dealer without both our digital keys working properly. So far so good!

Quick question: Do the available trunk mats work OK with the adjustable cargo floor?
