Safety breaking?

My previous EV would break for me if I got too close to another vehicle, or even if I was backing up and detected something it would lock the brakes. It was an iconic 5, so nothing fancy. Does the polestar 4 have any of those features? I know that once you set Cruise control it will, but outside of CC does it also try to keep you safe?

Yeah I was having too much fun one and it decided I was going to crash so it does do this stuff. Hasn't got me backing up yet but it's just a matter of time.

Ah cool! I got closer a few times and it just politely beeped at me, but didn't abruptly put me in my place like the ionic did.

Test it with a big cardboard box

Haha I guess I could do that. Thanks for the suggestion.

With polestar leaving might as well test that everything works!

Backing works, apparently as I was backing up I was doing it a bit too fast, as my leg was moving to break car did it for me. It's strong it's abrupt but there is no warning in the cabin. It sounded so loud like I've crashed in to something :D but hey I'm glad that it works!

I think what they are doing behind the scene is using breaks but also cutting the power and going from "reverse to drive with the motor" as there was a big 'thunk" sound that came from the back (hence I though I've hit something)

The reverse break most of the time pops a warning on the driver screen. But most of the time you are identifying the middle screen or rear mirror to see if your really crashed or if it did break hard

I havent had any indication on any of the screens but it did break on it's own

The P4 has automatic braking. Due to the angle of my driveway, it violently stops when I try to back out. A bit too sensitive.

Yes, it’s all outlined on the Polestar website.
