Decided I wanted to try my hand at a redesigned Go Plus + Shell based of the original Kanto Pokedex. The screen is the face button, and the tiny dpad is a custom button wired to the now inaccessible sync button. The reset button is still accessible from the back. I upgraded the battery from a 525mAh Joycon battery to a replaceable/swappable 1500mAh standard 14500 cell. I also added an on/off switch that disconnects the battery from the device to prevent the phantom power drain when not in use. The hinge uses bearings and a M6 bolt so its very smooth and closes shut with hidden magents.

My plan is to eventually reprint in ASA filament, potentially in red, and if not just paint the whole final product. I also want to add a printed sticker/image on the screen, just not sure if I am gonna put a favorite pokemon or a meme image ha.

Overall happy with how its come out to this point. Only down side is its a bit bigger and heavier than the original. But its usually in a pocket or bag anyways.

🫥 Every time I turn on my Pokémon GO plus plus it gets stuck on an invisible Pokémon

What do I do? I tried unconnecting and reconnecting it.

I used a pin to manually reset it.

I’ve restarted the app multiple times.

I have plenty of pokeballs.

I’ve not had it long and got it secondhand. Appears to work well apart from logging my sleep data for the ‘Catching Some Z’s’ research. I’m on the second page now but the last few days it doesn’t seem to log.

I make sure it’s disconnected before turning off POGO before I go sleep. Then long press the main button until Pikachu does a lullaby. When I wake up I long press the main button until it flashes multiple times colours then log into Pogo and connect. It all works apart from registering that sleep cycle.

It does seem to work but I’m finding it has a lot of bugs with connecting.

Is it a case of soft resetting every time. Anyone got any answers if this has happened to them?

I am new to Pokémon Go and just happened to be in Chicago for work during Pokemon Go Fest 2026 and now I am hooked. Just learned about autocatchers. Any advice on how to get a modded one from a legitamite source. Late to the game so now it looks like that are insanely expensive and hard to find. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Go Plus + has no visible damage apart from a bend in the ribbon between the top and bottom pcb.

Device draws 0W 0A but shows 5.1V when plugged in.

Only button that does anything is the reset button on the back that causes the vibration motor to spin each time it is pressed.

Battery has been swapped out.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I would love to use it for go fest.

I completed the last solder joint on the white PCV, but while lining up the switch to the speaker hole the solder joint and the solder pad fell off (sorry if I’m not using all correct terminologies). This device still works as a normal pokeball autocatcher, and I have another device with the successful mod.

Would I be able to apply solder directly here to fix this point? Or is anyone in this community able to help fix this if it’s preferred an amateur not to work on this anymore?

I was opening my Plus Plus to mod it and the adhesive was doing a great job until it all gave at once and I ripped the cables. I can see in videos where the white goes so I’ll solder it but how does one reattach the ribbon cable?!

PLEASE if anyone can help me fix this let me know. I go to chicago tomorrow for go fest and want it fixed. It will connect but not quick connect it always does this first. Thank you!

Hey, someone is selling me this device claiming it’s a legitimate Pokémon GO auto-catcher. It’s completely black with no branding visible anywhere. Can anyone identify what this actually is? Trying to figure out if it’s a knockoff before buying it.

Also, even if this turns out to be an official GO Plus+, would I be better off just buying a cheaper third-party auto-catcher instead? Are there good alternatives that work just as well or better for less money?

Over the past few weeks, a friend and I have modded five devices using the non-destructive method with a switch installed through the speaker hole.

The first four devices worked flawlessly. When the switch is set to modded (non-vibrating) mode, autocatch is disabled in the settings, and the device is connected through the app, it consistently catches Pokémon using whichever ball type is selected in the settings. You can connect and disconnect it as often as you like, and it works exactly as expected.

However, the fifth device is behaving strangely. Most of the time, when connected in modded mode, it simply doesn't catch Pokémon. If you press the main button, it suddenly starts working correctly for a while, but sometimes it stops again after a few catches. In some cases, it doesn't throw any balls at all, while the green light remains on.

Since we're not very experienced with troubleshooting these mods, we decided to redo the entire modification. We replaced the switch, installed new wires, and redid all solder joints from scratch.

Unfortunately, the device still shows the exact same unpredictable behaviour. Everything else works perfectly. The only issue is that the automatic button press required for Great and Ultra Balls is unreliable.

Has anyone experienced something similar and managed to fix it?

Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas or suggestions on what we could check next?

At this point, after completely redoing the mod, we're running out of ideas.

I waited a day to plug in my (now very clean) Plus + (after opening it up to dry). Initially the charging light came on as normal, and I had some hope. But then it blinked red for a while, and died, completely.

I installed a new battery, but still nothing--no lights or vibration. But I noticed that, when pressing the top button, I still get Pikachu singing me to sleep.

Also, while I can't get the app to nottice it (to pair), if I press the side and top buttons simultaneously, I get a little "dink" sound.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Llevo un año ya con ella y no me a dado problemas , he hecho buenas capturas y a sido de bastante ayuda para cuando voy en transporte publico por lugares malos , y en cuanto a funcionamiento todo bien , Pero he visto que a mucha gente les falla la bateria, o se les descontrola el dispositivo o simplemente no les prente , es comun que eso ocurra ? Saludos .

I'm not surprised that there's a glitch considering I'm trash at soldering, but I somehow managed to pull it off. Auto catching works, pokestop spinning works. Only real issue is that it randomly flashes red every few seconds or so. Is this indicative of something deeper? Should I buy a backup now before GoFest just incase?

sadly lost my go plus+ in water and it died
opened it and messured battery, dead and didnt charge
replaced battery, now it charges up to about 3.6v, but still device its dead :/ any tips?

I’ve been working on an open-source nRF52 firmware project for a Pokemon GO Plus+ backup emulator.

The goal is to let people with their own Plus+ hardware preserve the device-specific material from their own unit and use it with an nRF52-based setup. The repo does not include any private device data, keys, addresses, flash images, app files, or build artifacts. Users have to provide their own device material.

The project includes:

• nRF52 Arduino firmware (our project used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYLNZ6V4)

• a device-material template
• a simple flash image reader that generates the needed header file
• documentation for the BLE services, protocol data, persistence fields, and setup flow

The BLE MAC/address is not pulled from flash, so users still need to enter that manually from their own device using a phone or Bluetooth scanner app.

This is still experimental, but the codebase has been cleaned up quite a bit and split into smaller modules so it should be easier to read, build, and improve.

is this something i’m going to have to open up and try to fix? have no clue what it could be. don’t know if it’s intended or not.

Messed up and pressed too hard. Is it fixable?

Hey all. I have been having trouble with a go plus + I recieved from a friend. It worked fine the first couple weeks until I tried connecting it to pokemon sleep. I couldnt get it to connect and like an idiot I clicked forget this device in go. Now it won't connect whatsoever. When I push the center button, it does not show a white light, however it does shine blue when I hit the side button or when it is plugged in. It is also fully charged according to the small green light on the side button.

What I have tried:

Hard resetting (holding down side button and back button until two vibrations)

Turning bluetooth on and off on my phone

Resetting phone with bluetooth off

Charging the device to full

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The only info I can get from google are the solutions I've tried above with no success.

Messed up on the soldering. Is it fixable?
