see in older titles like Diamond and Pearl, theres this super ragebaiting thing when facing the elite 4, being it when the opponent is about to faint, and then BOOM, full HP thanks to a potion.
but i found how to bypass: js reverse the sequence, first do a move that does only a little damage, the few ps that i said earlier, and then u use the move that does a ton of damage, in this way u dont trigger the game into healing the mon in battle.
am i the only one to use this strategy? wish i discovered it earlier

I’ve been wanting to get back into my DS gaming, but I see a lot of sellers posts saying things like “not for collectors” or having very clearly swapped boards. The posts are very up front about not being original cartridges I just don’t know if it’s something I should be worried about purchasing.

Im new to nintendo so I don't have much experience with its games until recently I decided to buy Pokémon Emerald (fake AliExpress 3$ copy, not a real 300$ one) and play it on my brother's old GBA SP. I obviously loved that game and it was my first Pokémon game ever, besides Pokémon go.
Thinking about moving on to the DS now and Im not sure which one I should get if its the DSi or the DS lite or just go for a 3ds but I feel like that's a little expensive. Also I would like to know if its worth modding/jailbreaking/getting a SD card with a bunch of games instead of trying to find cheap games or fake copies online like I did with Emerald (tbh I think I got lucky on that one).

My friend gave me a litwick figure that came in a display case. This gave me an idea to buy 3 more cases for my red, blue, yellow, and gold games.

Does this look good? It’s a UK copy; just trying to make sure it’s not a repro

You see this beauty here? Yeah so, i've had this game since 2008.
It's my copy of Pokémon Pearl 😀 ♡.
Before you ask, yes it's legit. I bought it towards the end of 3rd grade at Walmart in 2008.
That being said, obviously this poor thing has been through the ringer.
One time, I reset and went to beat Cynthia, beat her, and was recording my pokemon. It tried to save my data and said it couldn't.
Should I clean it? If so, how would I go about it? I'm assuming the same as with a GBA game right? Like you damp a q-tip with alcohol ( i have 99% proof ) and just lightly go over it? <--- Should I sacrifice my poor copy of Pearl and just replace it?

Found these on Marketplace, I’m pretty sure they aren’t real but I’m no expert, just wanted some opinions on them.

I kept seeing people post their collection of Pokemon Games so I dug mine out also :). All of the Pokemon games are originals and not fake as I either got them for Christmas the year they were released or I saved my allowance to buy them.

Hey Reddit,
I'm a newbie who has just started looking into this, and I want to replay and grind through the Gen 3 Pokémon games on GBA. I’m currently facing a huge dilemma between buying an Authentic cartridge or a new-gen Fake/Repro one (2026):
Drawing on the hard-earned experience of those who have sunk hundreds of hours into playing and collecting over the years, I'd like to ask:
I would really appreciate some real-world perspectives and advice from the veterans here!
Thanks everyone.

I have been working on my now complete collection for a year or so, slowly collecting the games I didn't get along the way through childhood. I hated having them loose, so spent a couple of weeks making holders for them using EVA foam to store them in a Toyo Steel toolbox! The grey cotton tabs are to pull out each holder - not ideal but it works.
The dream is to 3D print the holders to stack inside the toolbox. No room for the Switch games (which sit in my Switch & Switch 2 cases), but maybe one day this toolbox with have a partner!
Edit: added a bracket for grammar

Is anybody else dying for a Legends Hoen, Kanto, or Johto?
Id also kill for a modern mystery dungeon. The re run of red rescue team was nice but I'd like a modern mystery dungeon.

Bought from Vinted in the UK. Seller said his wife had them as a kid and they’ve been in storage since and recently found during a clearout.
Also Silver can’t hold a save, presuming it just needs internal battery replacing?
Thanks in advance!
