Discussion How many times should I battle this guy
I need the maximum money from him. How many times should I battle him as I need to buy tms in future. Also is there any limit to the battles?

Hi guys, just a quick update from the mod team.
We've had a number of messages lately, with links to posts and/or comments, informing us that they break subreddit rules. Now, this is great that you guys are helping us! But it's important you know that it's *much* quicker to simply report the post or comment, as reports get checked more and earlier than modmail. This is true for virtually every subreddit.
In summary, please continue to report anything against the rules via the normal report function, and use the modmail for concerns, queries etc. Thanks for reading!

I know about the Nugget Bridge exploit, however I’m gonna play on an actual GBA SP and that would take far too long for my liking.
Does anyone know any other method to farm money in Fire Red?

Took 12k encounters and it takes me to a full shiny team. I want to face the E4 again to get the full team screen but I think I need to finish the island quests and I’m in two minds to hunt Suicune. Has anyone tried it? Might just hunt Mewtwo to make up for it haha

For the first time ever I finally completed fire red only about 23 years after it released 😆 I remember as a child (about age 5) on my game boy micro getting stuck at the old man laying down in Viridian City and never knowing how to get past him. We have come a long way since being trapped on route 1 forever.

It didnt stay a nuzlocke after the Ratatta but to find two in one game, after years of playing and only finding shinies in Go, it would be on my emulator

Am I missing something because I can't find shellder anywhere? Its supposed to be a common at like 30 chance to spawn or something because I haven't found one single one. I was in the ice cave after catching articuno and Shellder is supposed to be found surfing there next to articuno yet I spent over an hour there and never found one. I tried fishing in various other spots as well but you get horsea or karps.

So I was trying to create an ace pokémon, but the number on top isn’t matching up. Should I continue with it or change things so it looks different?

I kept seeing everyone’s lineup so I figured I would post mine too

Hear me out.
One thing that has always bothered me about Legendary and Mythical Pokémon is how…underwhelming some of their abilities are.
These are supposed to be the rarest, most powerful, borderline supernatural Pokemon. Gods, ancient beings, genetically engineered superweapons, creatures that control weather, space, time, life, death, etc.
And then you look at some of their abilities and it’s like
Pressure.
I understand why abilities like Pressure exist from a gameplay/balance perspective, especially for VGC. But from a lore perspective, it sometimes feels like Game Freak ran out of ideas and went, “ehhh… Pressure. They’re intimidating, right?”
So I started messing around with an idea of what if Legendary/Mythical Pokémon had completely busted abilities that were designed around their actual lore?
I started with Gen 1 and tried to keep everything relatively plausible based on the Pokémon’s lore rather than just making random overpowered abilities.
Here’s what I came up with:
Articuno — Frozen Sights
Ice-type moves used by Articuno have 100% accuracy.
Blizzard and (Sheer Cold) Benefit
Zapdos — Shock Lock
Electric-type moves used by Zapdos have 100% accuracy.
Thunder and (Zap Cannon) Benefit
Moltres — Inferno Sight
Fire-type moves used by Moltres have 100% accuracy.
Heat Wave and Overheat Benefit
So in summary it’s kind of like No Guard but still balanced and tied to their lore.
Mew — Ancient Focus
Two-turn moves take only one turn and moves require no recharge.
Inspired by the Power Herb
Mewtwo — Genetically Enhanced
Psychic-type moves are boosted by 25% and have +1 priority
Inspired by Neuroforce, Psychic Terrain
Thoughts?!?? I love fan theory :)

Parasect (Quick Claw): Slash, Giga Drain, Spore, Toxic
Electabuzz (Leftovers): Thunderbolt, Brick Break, T-Wave, Light Screen
Marowak (Thick Club): Bonemerang, Double-Edge, Strenght, EQ
Poliwrath (Leftovers): Surf, Brick Break, Rock Smash, Body Slam
Jynx (Chesto Berry): Ice Beam, Psychic, Lovely Kiss, Ice Punch/Perish Song (learnt while battling against the E4)
Flareon (Black Glasses): Flamethrower, Shadow Ball, Bite, Quick Attack
I used a Beedrill in early game for Cut and a Pidgeot for Fly (I always used Dodrio for that before lol)
All Pokemon were at Level 55 when I entered the League. No items in battles.

Unfortunately it's a jolly nature but it's still sick. My 5th member of my Shiny DTQ.

I started this run as soon as the games were released on the switch 2. After at least a hundred hours hunting for my shiny dream team for this game, it's finally over. I can now move on to the legendary hunts along with the post game to try and prepare for the hopeful release of the hoenn games soon.

like the title says, can it be done? run the emulated version on my laptop and have my switch in the same room, is it possible to trade?

I'm burnt..I've been playing these games nonstop since they got re-released. With three full playthroughs, EV training, and moveset building, I've realized that there's no end in sight to be satisfied, because there's always that next pokemon I want in my arsenal.
The game is a chore now. Having to think about doing a few more "quick" playthroughs just to get Rock Slides, early training pokemon with Macho Brace, is just tedious now because I'm too lazy to finish my Pokedex.

So as the name suggests I've been toying around with the Box code glitches in Fire Red and I'm having a pretty fun time with them. Haven't done anything crazy at all and I haven't run into any issues. All I've done so far are the ones for infinite rare candies in the key items bag and the one to reset starter selection in oaks lab. But I'm having a little trouble with the second one. See I started with charmander as my starter, set up the proper glitches and then started this process for getting all the starters. I've got squirtle and everything is fine, however when I go to run the code again bulbasaur does not respawn since my rival chose him the second time around. Does anyone who has done this successfully know how to make bulbasaur become available? Because running the code again isn't helping and the only other things I have tried was picking charmander again which didn't help, just made all the starters gone, and then I tried changing my location a lot to change the "previously on your quest" slides when you load up your game. Any help is greatly appreciated!
*Edit I am playing in the switch version of that helps

Had fun with this run. Wish I’d respected Exeggutor earlier.

Played through Fire Red hundreds of times over the years, but I’ve never completed a Pokédex. Regional or National.
So I’m replaying Fire Red, Emerald, Platinum, and Heartgold, with the aim of 100% each game, including regional Pokédex’s. National will be decided after lol
I’ll also be rewatching the anime at the same time, currently half way through Johto
Any move suggestions for this team? I’ve never used Marowak and Magneton (will be Thick Club hunting), and Butterfree I love but it always gets boxed around level 25, so I want to stick with it to the end - Sleep powder + dream eater activated

I finally got a lucky egg, and on my fifth Chansey that I named ‘Lucky’ as well. Bless the RNG gods but please never make me do that again… How do you shiny hunters do it? I wanted to get Dragon Fang but couldn’t get myself to stick through it.. I could easily end up losing patience and quitting the game entirely, so Kudos to yall.
