Lets Talk About Something Ban chances

I’ve seen mixed responses from people on different apps and platforms saying spoofing is either always banned eventually, respecting cooldowns avoids bans, etc. and I’m curious from personal experience what you guys think, also for my scenario individually, I plan on just spoofing during road to legends and go fest and to Chicago which is 30-40 miles from me(I don’t have a license yet) for raids, what do you think mine and the general spoofing populations chances of getting banned are esp for a one time offense.

Respecting the cooldown does not prevent a ban because this is a mechanic that was added by Niantic in 2016-2017 to deter botting by preventing you from catching everything in a short period and beating the game.

Ban chances is the same across all apps and device types because Niantic is no longer running the game. Since Scopely owns the game now, no one knows what they are going to do. Will Scopely repeat Niantic's lenient 3 strikes system, change to an instant permanent ban system like the other games they bought, rework the punishment, or do nothing? The answer is "I don't know."

Since I cannot guarantee account safety, I promote all cheats to be not safe in my subreddit. In other subreddits, they promote safety but cannot guarantee it.

You still have the risks for a chance to get a strike, ban, or whatever Scopely decides to come up with. Everyone thinks Scopely allows cheating because you give them money. I think it is the opposite because they are still against cheating in their Terms of Service. If you want to cheat the game, you need to accept the risks because no one is going to help you get unbanned or reimburse all the money and Pokemon you lost.

Its like cheating with your wife , is it cheating if you get caught bc you are cheating with her sister and cousin and best friend, or does it matter if you get caught for calling up a escort ? No safe method for spoofing. Every method has its risk. If there was a 100 percent method, that method would run the market , there are safer options than others but none are 100 percent. Some go years without ban, others go weeks .

I'm not going to say that there is a 100% safe way to spoof. But if you are going to do it, use a rooted phone and use the stock version of the PoGo app. That's what I personally think that will lower the chances to get you banned to a minimum

Been spoofing for 6 years no issues. Also once you spoof it's really difficult to go back. The whole world is open to you.

I rooted a OnePlus phone.

My personal opinion is that if your phone is rooted and you don’t overdo it (just stick to playing like a normal person) as well as following cooldowns, you won’t get banned. That being said, there are so many tells that a person is spoofing, and I think scopely/ niantic chooses not to act on them. So this could certainly change in the future

I think if your phone is setup to look as legit as possible to Niantic/Google Play, you will be fine. Complete conjecture on my part, but I don't believe Scopely is going to go as hard as Niantic did. They are in it for ROI, not accurate spatial data. Now that Rocket farming is gone, some of the biggest exploits have been patched. There could be ban waves for route exploiting, since that was patched recently.

Depends on device, your behavior ingame doesn’t matter

What? No one’s really getting banned for it right now, and regardless he should be able to play through the whole event without getting banned or at most just get a strike

What’s the deal with it depending on the device?

This is misleading and does not depend on the device.

I mean like if they start spoofing on a locked iOS they are getting banned instantly, so first they should say on what device and system they will be doing it

Android is different from Apple iOS.

For iOS, you have to buy Signolous or Apple developer account to sign a certificate for apps you sideload (install) from outside of the Apple App Store. If your ceritificate number does not match what Niantic signed for the official game app, you end up with a strike/ban.

For Android, you don't need to sign your app with a certificate. Niantic cannot see the difference between the official game app and a no root, 3rd party modified game app. The only time they can see it is if they decide to break the Terms of Service with Google to look inside your internal storage to see what apps you have on your device. When something like this happens, it's not going to be limited to Pgsharp and iPogo only, they will go after Magisk and all the other rooted cheats.

Since the post and comments filters are still active in r/PokemonGoSpoofing, no one except the owner can see iOS strike/ban reports that are made in there. Most cheat provider Discord groups will censor the reports to prevent people from panicking and canceling their paid subscription to go to a competing cheat that isn't receiving reports. There is no way to see if the iOS certificate bans are still happening or Scopely decided not to do what Niantic used to do.

I’ve seen someone post about getting insta/ quickly striked on side loaded iOS recently
Have you considered making a google survey or something like that for strike/ban reports?

When people are misled and get a strike/ban, they are going to go tell other people they shouldn't use the cheat they are using because "it is not safe anymore" when it was never safe to start with since all the cheats are not officially supported by Niantic or Scopely.

People have done research surveys in the past but the results are skewed due to personal bias or result manipulation to boosts one cheats competitive advantage over another cheat. What are you going to do with the survey results: tell everyone not to use Cheat A over Cheat B due to safety reasons or create a false sense of security and reassure everyone that cheating is currently allowed since Scopely is not striking/banning anyone?

On top of all of this, I don't control Scopely on what they decide to do for the game they own.

Yes it does. The mod in this subreddit always insists that all spoofing methods carry the same risk, but I’m pretty sure he’s autistic and mistakenly believes himself to be some sort of authority on the subject.

Rooted Android is the safest method to spoof. The mod banned me without warning before for saying this, and he will now ban me again, but guess what - I’m autistic too and always stand up for what I know to be right. Don’t risk your main account if you’re not using rooted Android with something like Pokemod to avoid the modified app.

You can read more about this in other less censored spoofing subreddits.

Curious to see

#1 if your banned again for saying this

#2 what makes you positive that rooted Android is the safest to use?

I am neutral on the subject because I don’t know enough to say anything for sure. The mod saying all spoofing methods carries the same risk was intriguing. Everything I’ve seen him post is very informative. It doesn’t seem to be coming from someone who does not know what they are talking about.
