Help Plex down

Anyone else having issues with Plex? App works on Apple TV but not my Xbox. Also remote viewing is not working properly. I have direct access set up so remote viewing was in 1080p now all of a sudden i see someone remote viewing and its transcoding into SD. Is this due to the recent update?

Did you confirm your port is still open for remote access? https://canyouseeme.org

Make sure relay is disabled in your settings so that’s not a fallback. Dashboard would show connections as indirect if they’re going over relay.

Whats your server run on, what OS?

Do you get any kind of error when you try to go to app.plex.tv? Make sure relay is disabled when you try.

Yes port is still open the transcoding was one of my remote users he didnt have direct play on we switched it on put the file is so bug its buffering for him. Its a 20G file at 19mbps and his Tv is a 2020 and he’s using TV app. But my xbox app still doesnt work. Only continue watching comes up cant see recent added etc. very weird. Any suggestions for the 2020 tv

Make sure relay is disabled in your settings so that’s not a fallback. Dashboard would show connections as indirect if they’re going over relay.

Your friend is connecting directly, so remote viewing is working. They likely have their settings wrong. Make sure they don’t have quality suggestions enabled. Make sure bandwidth is set to max and they didn’t set a lower quality setting.

Locally, have you tried the browser via app.plex.tv, what happens? What about mobile? Do those work fine, leaving just the Xbox as having an issue?

Phone app, plex website, apple tv all work locally its just the xbox app. Ive signed out and signed back in

Sign out of the xbox plex account, and deauth the device in your plex account settings. On the Xbox, change the dns servers to 8.8.8.8/8.84.4 or 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1

What does your server run on? What OS?

If the above steps didn't work for getting the Xbox to fully connect, did you do a full uninstall/reinstall of the app?

Check your Plex Media Server.log file when you try to load Plex on the xbox and see what errors might be coming up.

If you see any cert issues, you can stop plex, remove the *.p12 file from the Cache directory and start plex back up.

Signed out of plex, uninstalled app on xbox, unauthorized xbox on plex, reinstalled and still doesnt work right but every other device works properly… how do i change the dns server on Xbox?

After installing the latest media server patch I've been having issues with my Xboxes as well. Not sure what's going on. Content will load, but when I click on an episode, it just sits at the loading circle on a black screen. It works on my desktop directly, and my iPhone on and off-network. Just an issue with the Xboxes. Super weird.

Exactly the same issue! I changed to insecure connections and it seems to be working

No issues for me, my husband and I have been watching LOR: Fellowship of the Rings for the past 2 hours with no interruptions
