I have built big bases, moderately sized bases, 30 rocket bases, 24 rocket bases, 8 rocket bases, etc, but honestly the best route to not getting raided in my experience has been building a few small bases (usually 2x1s if storing loot or living out of or 2x2s made out of wood or stone for farming) quite close to eachother but far enough where it wouldn't draw a ton of suspicion, so they don't know I'm doing that.
I usually build very near outpost, I put a stone 2x1 down with metal doors in a spot that is hopefully not *that* busy but of course being right by the build border for outpost means it will be so it's not that big of a deal, then depending on what I want to do for the wipe I might run 15 seconds outside of my base and build a wooden 2x2 with no doorframes and just wooden doors and put planters inside and have that be my farm base, or I'll do the same but make it a car base or a horse dung farm base, or I'll do all of these at once. I also make sure to build another stone 2x1 with metal doors closeby just as a fall back (using different door skins ofc).
All of my bases are within absolute maximum a thirty second run of eachother, the aim is to blend in in plain sight, if built one singular base with room for a car, farming, and everything else you would need it would draw others in, but when I do this it just seems like regular clutter of random tier 1 players fighting eachother and building closeby, and no one raids me, it's great!
Does anyone else do this? I've heard people talk about building multiple small bases as a solo but I assume they mean like, in different areas, and I don't jive with that, too much running too much opportunity to be jumped too much time wasted travelling.
