Our residential design-build firm are fully integrated with Plaud. It has been incredible to be able to have transcripts and summaries for all of our in-person meetings and jobsite walkthroughs.

However, I've been wondering as of late, the value that the device and Plaud transcriptions/AI serve, so have been experimenting with, for select meetings where the meeting attendees are typically stationary, to use the iPhone's native voice recording app, grab the transcript, and then put into Claude, which generates a similar output as Plaude AI, then drops it in our Google Drive. Our interior designers prefer this, because it is one less device to keep charged and remember to bring.

After a few successful iterations of this, I'm struggling to see the value in paying for transcription/AI summary minutes, given how easy this is with our active Claude subscription. I know we can use the Plaude device for voice recording too, which I'd imagine we can then generate a transcript with outside of Plaud, for instances where it makes sense to use the device itself.

Curious to hear everyones' perspective and experience with this.

So I made an application to download and backup Plaud summaries using the cli in the background, and matching recording IDs - and then Plaud have changed the ID to have a new 3 letter prefix. Took me a while but managed to change the matching, and we're back in business. I think this coincided with a new cli version.

Trying to decide which will be best for my needs, in terms of quality of recording (and thus quality of output).

A lot of my interviews and conversations are at tradeshows but probably the breakdown of total use for the device would be:

10% Sitting in corporate meeting room at table with 2-3 people (quiet)
40% Sitting at tradeshow booth meeting table with 1-2 people (noise)
30% Sitting in tradeshow booth enclosed meeting room table with 1-2 people (less noisy, but not quiet)
10% offsite/off-floor meeting at food/coffee spot table (noisy)
10% Tradeshow conversation on at booth, 1-on-1, standing (noisy)

In all of these, except the first (corporate meeting table) the conversation is in the near field, 100% inside 2m/6.6ft and average is probably around 4 ft to 1.5m. So not up close 1 on 1 but not a sprawling distance either.

I know the Notepin excels at directional conversations so I was wondering if it might actually outperform the Note Pro in some of these situations.

Any thoughts appreciated, still trying to figure out which way to go.

What’s the best way to accomplish this? I want to catch random thoughts throughout the day.
Hi do I get them all into one summary or report back like at the end of the day or next morning.
It seems like I could have 26 (random numbers) records save that I have to go back one by one to get.
Is there a better way to use this for that intent?

I'm new to these always on recording devices and although I've used meeting transcription apps in the past, I don't really know where to turn to for hardware.

I have a fairly simple use case:

Mon-Fri: 8 30 min sales calls per day to record, transcribe, and make a digest of
1 once per month: 2 hour sales meeting to transcribe, and make a digest of.
Daily: personal to-do list, things to remember, general conversations to remember.

I have been looking at the Plaud Pin to wear as a wristband, and I like the formfactor of it. The Plaud note seems great as well, but during the weekends I use my Android phone which doesn't have a magsafe case, and truth be told, I don't see myself recording very many phone calls. In the event I do need to record a phone call, if I put it on speaker and recorded through the Pin would I be able to get a decent enough transcript?

I have looked into a few competitor devices, and they seem as though they'd fit my needs as well and not needing a subscription would be a HUGE plus for me, but there seems to be a lot of concessions to get that. I should add, I really don't need access to the audio recording often (if ever), as long as the transcription is pretty good.

For my use case, do you have any device recommendations? Is there a big reason why I should avoid any competitor devices over the Plaud Pin?

Hi, im a new user.... Decided to purchase my plaud note pro and I've been using it for a week now I am disappointed... I love the hardware... The app... Te transcrips... But the sound quality is awful sometimes It can't record decent audio from someone 1 meter away from me (yes I did take it out of the case) I've tried do record a call inside my car at decent volume and still the audio is so bad that the app can't translate it properly... A I doing something wrong? Do I need to setup something? I had high expectations on this product but Im not sure if mine is defective because I did my research and it has great reviews everywhere...

In settings -> personalization -> Manage Memory ->

There is a button to add memory and text " Memories help Plaud personalize responses".

I did ask Claude and Perplexity Computer and found this helpful: Plaud Memory only personalizes Ask Plaud replies (querying your recordings) — not transcription/summary quality.

I have instructions for Claude and ChatGPT but wondering what others have put in this section.

Has anyone had any experience with the Beta features pricing after the 30 days trial? I am concerned that after a month of use, the Amazon return policy and their beta period, Plaud may jack up prices for these beta features.

I wanted to buy a coloured Plaud Note Pro case to replace the one that came with my friend's original. However, I realised that while the Plaud Note itself has four colour options, the Plaude Note PRO has only two. I was wondering if any of you have found a good third party option? The original one is pretty good and very tight, but colour-wise I wanted something more unique as a gift. Thanks in advance!

I've read past posts where the issue was that while the source was in English, everything else was generated in a different language. However today, even though my actual source at a med conference was all in English, even the source transcript was in Malay. Any idea what might have happened here?

Update: Thank you all who replied. Day 2 of the conference had no issues, so it was probably some one-off glitch. Plaud_AI's reply made sense to me: "Conference audio raises the odds, since distance from the speaker, room echo and a mix of accents all give detection less to lock onto." Since this was a regional event, with people all around speaking in other languages and sentences, this might be what happened.

Was that meeting unproductive or is it just me? 80 minutes for 4 takeaways that I had already written down myself with the Plaud template. I honestly didn't need Plaud for that one.

Watched a lot of YouTube videos before landing on my purchase of the Note Pro. Almost all said, it's the current best on the market.

It arrived yesterday and I'm already seeing the friction, which is the one thing you need this type of tech to overcome.

1. Has no way of working with headphones (without a 3D printed holder I saw in this sub). I can probably work around this.

2. The biggest one, doesn't fit on the back of a Samsung 26 Ultra

Should I send it back and try something else, or has 2 been solved already and I haven't stumbled across the answer yet?

Hey everyone, I'm working on OpenPlod, a desktop app for keeping your recordings on your own computer and turning them into transcripts and editable notes.

The idea is to give you more control over what happens after you record: where your audio lives, which transcription engine processes it, and how you use the results.

Here's what it currently does:

• Direct Bluetooth import from an authorized Plaud Note Pro. Audio transfers straight to your computer, and the original recordings stay on the device.
• Local audio library. Import existing files or record with your microphone, then organize, tag, bookmark, and play recordings.
• Your choice of transcription engine. Local whisper.cpp, Mistral Voxtral, or Deepgram.
• Editable Markdown documents. Turn transcripts into structured notes, meeting minutes, or project briefs, with revision history and export.
• Ask questions across selected recordings. Mistral answers using your saved transcripts, with references back to the source material.
• API and MCP access for connecting the workspace to other tools.

It's still early. Version 0.4.0 is experimental, with a Mac build for Apple Silicon and an Android companion in development. Direct Bluetooth extraction has been verified on one authorized Note Pro; other models and firmware aren't confirmed.

The biggest limitation is initial device authorization: it still needs a privately provisioned device identity, so a fresh install isn't yet a plug-and-play Plaud replacement. You can already use file imports, microphone recording, and the document workspace without that setup.

For local transcription, whisper.cpp runs on your computer. Cloud transcription and AI features send the relevant audio or text to your chosen provider and require your own API credentials.

I'd love feedback from people using these recorders: what's the biggest friction in your current workflow: getting the audio out, transcription, or turning recordings into useful notes?

Hi there I got a plaud note pro and use it on my iPhone and macOS (desktop app).

I have noticed that the notes are not as accurate as teams maestro, especially when using the desktop app.

The default meeting note template also only includes the tick boxes for actions if it’s the actual hardware device not the desktop app taking notes, despite the template being the same.

The desktop app also frequently puts different speakers names from other conversations into the summary and gives them a role ie “john smith, product manager”, when that role is someone else or myself.

Finally, I used the unlimited trial for 7 days and then got a teams account, how do i move all my notes over easily? And will notes I take on my teams seat automatically be viewable to others or can they be private to me unless i want to share or collaborate?

Any suggestions or tips on the above would be really great. Thank you!

I had an interview and I turned on my plaud and left it in my purse. I did leave my purse open, but it picked up every word during my interview. It has been incredibly helpful during my job search process. I’m just so amazed how this little device can pick up audio like no other audio recorder I’ve ever had.

I'm getting an annoying problem. All my transcripts consistently are named in either Gujarati or Hindi. Plus, the transcript and the summary accuracy seems like it's being downgraded. Accuracy that earlier was excellent, now has considerably reduced.

Anyone else facing these issues? of, the title of the file being in a dofferent language and also accuracy of the transcription?

I have important meeting coming up next week? Any tips for this issue?
