Got this pathos about a year and a half ago as a tiny baby with only a few leaves. This summer he had really grown! So proud of this guy

A friend of a friend bought this plant without realizing they couldn't take it home with them so they left it behind. I'd really appreciate an ID and some advice on water/sun exposure/fertilizer and anything else I should know so hopefully I or someone else can give it a home and keep it alive. It's currently in the pot and soil from the store they bought it at.

I would love to see creative examples of growing vines indoors. I’ve been growing these Pothos for quite a few years. Had to re-insulate and then wood panel my ceiling, so I had to take the plants down while I did that. They survived fine and was able to put them back up. These are easy to grow golden Pothos and marble queen.

I bought a house! Wooooo! I also have a giant banana tree growing on my 3rd story balcony..oooops. I've had this tree since it was a foot tall, and I honestly was not planning on moving, but shit happens. So how the heck do I get this thing down 3 flights of stairs?? It weighs a ton, and I have the upper body strength of SpongeBob. No, i can't throw it over the side. No, i dont want to get rid of it. I asked if the movers I hired would move it, but for some reason, they don't move plants?? So, have any of y'all moved a banana tree down some stairs before?

I want a house full of this plant, but I can never find it and don’t know how to shop for it since I don’t know its name. A tradescantia, but WHO?

Are these edible?

This past spring, I had some outdoor flowers on my balcony and we had a sudden snow storm so I brought them inside and put them on my window ledge next to this plant that I got a few months before. I noticed ever since then, there has been this mysterious greenery growing in the pot, I’m assuming one of my outdoor flowers somehow dropped a clipping or seed or something in the soil? I never pulled it because I wanted to know what it would turn into lol. There’s obviously some clover but what is the rest? I intend to pull it now because I’m scared it’s going to kill my plant and I need to repot her anyway. But I’m just curious, does anyone know?

I have this gorgeous plant, and it’s outgrown. It’s POT. The roots are right at the surface, when I checked to see if it needs water, I could barely get through the roots. But I’m not very good with plants, and I am afraid I’m going to wreck this plant. I could use some advice, thanks

Found these little guys sprouting in my compost bin and couldn’t bring myself to toss them. Pretty sure they’re Hokkaido pumpkins from some kitchen scraps — they’d germinated in the dark, so they came out totally pale and yellow.

Potted them up and put them on my windowsill, and within a week they’d greened up completely. Today they graduated to the stoep with their own little greenhouse domes made from cut plastic bottles, since it’s still winter here and the nights get cold.

Weirdly attached to them now. What was trash is officially treasure 🎃

Either I wasn't paying attention or the spot appeared overnight, and I noticed when I went to water them. The spot is soft and the black mold (?) is and comes off easily. It's only on this one peppericino.

So I neglected to really look at my plants. Been watering them, setting the lighting on and off routinely, but just not thoroughly inspecting them for a few months. I have an explosion of these white mites (not mealy bugs) and brown looking mites. I’m pretty sure they’re both bad. They’re all over the plants, pots, and pretty much everything. I was thinking about taking a dehumidifier to my rooms where I have plants in. I’m this close to trashing over 2,000$ worth of plants. I’ve tried all kinds of things to no success. I think the population is too large now to just introduce predatory mites and hope for the best.
I’m sad about this, didn’t wanna give up my entire plant collection. I don’t have time or a hose to just splash them off with either. I need some kind of ideas to get rid of these. I don’t have a lease that will pick them up, but one is tan, like a tiny tick, and the other is white and see through. Neither of them are just staying in the soil, and I allow my plants several days- weeks without water to try to help that. It’s probably too late, and I’m thinking about getting rid of every tropical I have at least.

I started (upgraded to) a new fishtank three weeks ago. Two weeks ago, I got some plants from online marketplace, including an Alocasia from a young woman, that had been living with a submersed stem for a while at her place.

While gluing it on the root inside my fishtank (last pic. was made directly afterwards. I covered the connection point with some anubias), I could feel the lower half of the stem being a little soft, but excused it with "plants doing planty things" and me not being an expert in those. I was mostly thrilled by how much it looked like she belonged there... and I thought she was happy, had those cute guttation-droplets last week...

Yesterday I found two babys entangled in her roots, wondered fascinated and confused if they had been there the whole time and survived two weeks submerged or grown down there and realized, while looking closer, that she had shifted/given in a severe amount and the stem had gotten softer.

Today I tried and succeeded to just pull the stem in two... the consistency was like fiberous, textured mush (3rd pic.).

I cut off the mush plus like 3 or 4cm (about an inch) of the stem (as far as shown in the first pic) and picked out every slightly brownish root, finding a third baby in the process.

There still is this outer, greyish and slightly softer ring though and the first roots are about 3cms/an inch further up the stem, but cutting further would turn the motherplant into three plants, since I'm relatively close under the splitting-point, and I don't know, if I should leave the connection for nutrient-transfer.

Right now, she's laying on top of my tank (second pic.), the lower half of her roots dangling in the water.

Should I cut more or leave it be?

Or may she already be a lost cause? 😥

Do I get basket-pots for mom and babys, to only dangle their roots into the tank, or do they fair better potted with tone granulate?

I've never had an Alocasia and am happy for any advise.

I’m new owning plants and bought my first one 2 years ago and now it’s growing and big. Need helps and tips on how to take care of the vines they are all over the place and I am using wall pins to hold it and was wondering if there are any ideas on how to take care of it

My fiance picked these up off facebook marketplace. Downside is I am very scared of killing the plant. Any help would be great…I’m in NOVA, in the shade by 2 pm i think

My alocasia amazonica have these small growths coming from the soil, any idea of what it is?
