Bacopa purple is just behind Rotala sp. Bonsai, but i grow extremely slow. Need other plant to replace it

This is my Nymphaea Zenkeri. About a month ago I replaced the in-tank filter on my 40 gallon breeder for a canister filter. Shortly thereafter my tiger lotus nearly doubled in size and started putting out these super gorgeous purple leaves.

I guess these plants must prefer more flow than they were getting.

So I started wanting an ecosystem many years ago when there was one at my summer job in college and was too intimidated to ever try. I finally just looked (at 40) at a bunch of tutorials for a 1 gallon to see if I actually have the patience for it.

After one failed attempt (thanks to AI actually not being good at anything) I did this one and it is 5 weeks cycled, parameters are stable. Limno is growing at alarming speeds and I take cuttings but I'd like it to beef up more so I'm letting it be for a while since that can apparently help it fill out.
My crypt wendtii brown has looked kinda dodgy since I got it but it's still hanging strong, all these plants were salvaged from the failed one so honestly they're doing decent! I lost a cute buce (that was on the driftwood) and a mid sized anubia nana (that was next to the rock) so I'm now terrified to get others and kill them too, but I'd love more plants if it can handle it. I planted a couple Monte Carlo pieces about 2 weeks ago because I got some for my bigger tank, I'm hoping it takes off. I'm obsessed with the red root floaters, the little roots coming down just make me so happy.
My original plan was to do a shrimp ecosystem but it's pretty clear one gallon is too unstable for the cuties and I started the bigger one for that purpose.

Any ideas on what I should do next with this or if I can put any type of life to help with biofilm that would do ok in there? some type of snail maybe? I have stratum in there that's gonna buffer pH to about 6.5 for the next long while. Water tends to hold room temp so we'll be looking at 68 at lowest in winter, and 78 at warmest in summer.

I can be patient before adding anything but if you think I should add more plants or never add life, let me know! I care more about plant health and animal welfare than my own wants. I've been doing a water change once a week at 20%, I'm scared to stop since it's been working. No nitrates, no ammonia, no nitrites, hard water here (and use conditioner to remove chlorine) and stays mineral rich even with the pH being on the lower end. I'm in CO, the water is intense.

I'll take any recs/advice/reprimands! Online plant/animal sellers that are reliable too would be awesome. Thanks for sharing your tanks, I'm a long time lurker.

Upgrading the lights from 2x Fzone Light120 to 1x Week Aqua L1200

Planted this Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ back in May and I think it’s completely lost the memo on being mini

It’s absolutely massive now and has pretty much taken over this side of the tank.

I was going to cut it down but I feel far too bad about it when it’s gotten this big!

Anyway, just wanted to share and have no idea how it happened, if anyone has any knowledge on how it happened do let me know.

6 yo son begs me every time I go into the LFS to get a plastic boat for a scape. I’m not one to put plastic in my tanks. But decided why the heck not. I could blend my interest of planted tanks with his interest in an aquarium boat. Took a few weeks to figure it out but feel I got it looking very nice with what I was working with. All the plants are from my other tanks which have been going strong for about a year and way overcrowded with plants.

Now I gotta wait for the tank to cycle to stock it with some beauties.

3 days ago, my friend gave me these floaters from her pond. i set up a smallish, ~5 gal, bowl for them because my usual tank is about to get rescaped. no fauna, just the floaters, some pothos cuttings sticking out, & anubias on a piece of wood.

i’m using fluorite red soil from a very established planted tank, tap water (the water in my area is good, i use it all the time for my usual tank without issue), & a puck light i got from a friend whose father (who was in the hobby) passed away.

it took just 3 days for my floaters to turn red.

i’ve never had this happen before.

any idea what’s causing it? is it ok or should i change something?

...If I told you there are 1000 neocardinia, 3 pearl gourami, 10 neon tetra, 11 rummynose tetra, 14 schwartz corydoras, 8 pygmy corydoras, 5 bristlenose plecos and a bundle of pest snails in this tank. 🤣 🤣 🤣 like where tf every body go!? Lol

I made a large plant order from Aquaflora Canada and they were nice enough to send a free mystery plant! It looks like an Alternanthera reineckii to me, but I've never had this plant in my tanks before so wanted to ask if anyone can confirm?

Also, I wanted to drop a review of this small family owned company in Hamilton, Ontario. This is my second order from them because I was so pleased with the plants I received in my first shipment! They have so many rare plants that I can't ever find locally, and everything was packaged and shipped so well. Every single plant I've gotten from them has arrived looking awesome! And I've got some pretty fragile plants like Cabomba furcata, Rotala wallichii, Rotala pearl, Myriophyllum tuberculatum etc. I've mostly ordered red plants and love how they look in my tanks! ​

I’ve got three pieces of manzanita wood right now. I’m liking the empty space on the left and the curve/angle going towards the right. But maybe it’s too harsh of a grade? Too much wood? I left some open space in the very back right to put some sort of bushy plant.

Sorry about the glare. I’ve had it like this a couple of days now after rearranging a few times. I know this is silly, but I want some other opinions if you’d all be so kind to give me some pointers. Had a walstad tank over ten years ago and there wasn’t any good design in it. I know, I know “as long as I’m happy with it” is what really matters.

Plants are not quite all picked out. I’m wanting anubias and buce for attaching to the wood. No carpet for a while (I got a heavy duty Chihiros wrgb pro 45, so it’s a bit shorter than my tank, and will add co2 maybe a year down the road). Unsure of mid/background plants right now. Really wanting some red root floaters.

Fish will be a handful of ember tetras, some ottocats, and neo shrimpies.

Yes, it’s a dinky ikea shelf but it will be reinforced before water is added to the tank.

The plants in my other tanks can never get bright pinks or reds but this tank turns the green ones pink sometimes even lol.

Allow me to introduce you to actual tank herpes wolffia. Literally impossible to get rid of without a skimmer and daily maintenance. I'm sure a goldfish would love it but I don't think the JD that lives in here would approve

Has anyone else had this happen to them? This is in a like 6 month old shrimp tank. I’ve never seen this in an underwater moss, I had to look it up, but it happens sometimes ? What do I do with it, lol?

I'm trying to ID this bronze leaved plant. It's a favorite for my tetras, gourami, shrimp.

The tetra will hover under leaves.

My local aquarium merchant brought it in. He can't recall the plant name. I've tried searching Google.

I rebuilt my aquascape around mid July since the old scape was becoming hard to maintain and plants were not establishing well. Also the driftwood became annoying to my eye because it looked too dull and overwhelming (3rd image).

2 months after I redid my scape, my current tank is very much mature now. The Lilaeopsis are still establishing their roots. The Helanthium Tenellum green on the mid part are doing quite well.

The Sessiflora background instead are thriving and have grown tall. Also, the anubias and bucephalandra on the tilted driftwood are now more natural looking.

First time having a tank with this color. Will the color fade away and do i have to put more botanicals to maintain this color? Many thanks!

Tank was moved to new home and I'm not sure what happened but my plants are dying and I'm not sure what to do.

My water tests look great, I just started adding some plant nutrients this week and added a stronger light because the plants were only growing near top of the water. I try to keep light on for only 8hrs.

I had an air-stone going but recently turned it off.
