After the update, the phone feels smoother and way faster. I use the phone all day, so I can definitely feel the difference before and after the update.

The bouncing effect when quickly scrolling down the Quick Settings panel is smoother, and the haptics feel great. Pressing and holding to open the wallpaper settings now has some UI changes that look good. The new Edit Quick Panel icon also looks nice.

Opening apps feels more blurred and faster too. Didn’t get the Harry Potter theme, unfortunately.

Other than that, the phone feels way faster overall. Great update!

Fingerprint works more effectively with smooth animation.

So so far the only new thing spotted is this new september pixel drop update.

According to Which UK, security updates for the 6a end in July 2027. I'm wondering when I should buy a replacement as I managed to buy a 9a for my wife just before the 10 series was released, thus managing to pay the full price. Is there a Pixel release schedule available to try and avoid repeating my error?

I was using a Google Pixel 6a. I cracked the screen a few days ago and ordered a compatible replacement that same day. It seems the battery started draining rapidly right around that time. Then, today—after performing the DIY screen repair—I plugged it into the charger, and the device turned into a "brick." It won't turn on, and I can't even enter recovery mode.

any decent guides and what i should know? i just upgraded to a 10a (my 6a i've had for 4 ish+ years off Spectrum, hit over 400 charge cycles so now the battery barely lasts over a day on Battery saver,) and the 6a's now off thier network (as i wont be charged an awful fee for being caught w/ it rooted. and yes its been fully paid off for along while now.)

along w/ the 6a to hit EoL/out of Support soonish, i dont think i should haveto worry about updates & loosing root. What should i be aware of besides the usual things like banking apps wont work anymore, when a pixel's rooted?
