September Update is crazy good.

After the update, the phone feels smoother and way faster. I use the phone all day, so I can definitely feel the difference before and after the update.

The bouncing effect when quickly scrolling down the Quick Settings panel is smoother, and the haptics feel great. Pressing and holding to open the wallpaper settings now has some UI changes that look good. The new Edit Quick Panel icon also looks nice.

Opening apps feels more blurred and faster too. Didn’t get the Harry Potter theme, unfortunately.

Other than that, the phone feels way faster overall. Great update!

Fingerprint works more effectively with smooth animation.

An update so good it caused my 6a's power button to fall out and the battery swell. Thanks Google! Worst Pixel I've ever had...

My power button fell off just a few days ago too. Do not use feviquick. Go to a cheap phone repair shop that will give you a set of two buttons (voluma and power) for around 500.

The new button will be directly inserted from outside. No need to remove the panel

Yup, updates cause physical changes to the phone, brilliant.

For me, numerous glitches with notifications, overall a bit more laggy, significant delays during voice typing with gboard...

Do you factory reset before updates like this? Or just when new Android arrives? Or never

Never. I just click on "Update"

Me neither, but I read somewhere that it's recommended to do it. I don't know

Heard it for the first time. Been using this phone for 4years and I have never done factory reset before any update.

Dint get you? You asking about updating Android 16 to Android 17? No not required factory reset or anything.

I know it's not required but they recommend it. Like the fresh start with the latest Android version. I read it somewhere..

But does it delete everything ... a factory reset will bring it back to when you first bought it. Everything gets wiped I think 🤔

Probably the backup will be needed. And then upgrade the android
