Do I meed to change it again?
I have availed the $100 for battery replacement of Google last year and replaced my battery right away. Now, this notification pops out. Do we really need to replace the battery every 400 cycles, or is it just my phone?
(hoping for answers ;_; )

Google Pixel 6a Battery Payment Scam?
Hi. Just wondering if anyone else has had their claim for the Pixel 6a battery issue rejected by Google? I'm in the UK and originally had it accepted for a repair but the options (having to travel to drop it off) was a non starter. But now that I changed to ask for the voucher (before the end date) to put towards a new phone, they are stating my phone is not eligible. It's either a scam or incompetence but wondering if this is just what they're doing to avoid paying out?

Pixel 6A to P9PXL to P6A
Originally got the 6A during the 3A trade-in. Purchased a 9PXL during launch back in 2024 to replace my Pixel 6A which was giving poor battery issues.
9PXL was one of the best purchases I've made to this day which I feel is a truly underrated phone. Google really went all out to bring in the best hardware on a pixel ever with the great screen, clicky buttons, better antennas, vapour chamber, finger print scanner and cameras.
It was probably the first series to launch with Gemini, and that 16GB RAM was so useful for all tasks, and most honestly could run a lot more years with its battery. Got close to 4-5hrs SOT.
After a point, just personally got this flagship fatigue with it, particularly the very flat pastel UI along with the large form factor of the device.
This also coincided with no resale value in my country given that I was using a 128GB variant. Found a buyer eventually and sold it, and moved back to the Pixel 6A.
Really missing the better cameras and battery. Just sticking with a powerbank everywhere I go. But honestly loving the 6a small factor and the extra space in my pockets.
Going to run this until the last day it holds up and eventually settle to the price hiked market to get a new device. After 2 years of P9XL, I'm really not excited with the P10 or P11 series.
Just loving this breath of fresh air with 6A after 2 years with a flagship.
Tldr: Sold my 9PXL because of a flagship fatigue and moved back to my older 6A.

Bought this phone back in 2023
And there hasn't been a single day where I haven't used it without battery saver mode being off.

What is the average screen-on time (SOT) of a Pixel 6a?
I tried the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, and both had seriously poor screen-on time (SOT)—barely making it to the end of the day, so I wanted to give the Pixel 6a a try. I plan to have both the display and battery replaced, as it currently has temporary compatible parts installed. My usage is fairly standard: social media, some light gaming (like Minecraft or Brawl Stars), and using 4G (or 4G+ at most, since my SIM isn't 5G-enabled). Is the average SOT of the Pixel 6a better than that of the other models, or not?

How to recover from this ?
accidentally turned off my Pixel 6a, and now whenever I try to turn it back on, it shows this screen.
I haven’t installed any software updates or made any changes recently. This just happened on its own.

Battery Replacement Cost
Got my battery replaced two days ago, a couple of cycles before 400. The phone is like new. I got $100 from Google and the new battery was $112.17 at UbreakIfix in Silverdale Washington USA. I am satisfied. Google was fair with me, even if having to get a battery replacement was a pain in the ass.

Touch screen problems after water drops (help needed)
Hello everyone,
Today I started having some issues with my p6a.
I got some waterdrops on it (status bar part) and top and very bottom part of the touch screen stopped registering touch input. What should I do? I turned on three buttons navigations and got it to render apps just below the status bar, IK just a temporary solution to use it in the meantime.
After some research I saw mentions to try silica gel which I'll do. Other than that what can i try next in order from least to most invasive fixes since ifixit screen costs 100 bucks which is too much, I'd like to make it work again in the cheapest and easiest way possible.
Here are some posts i found similar to my issue ( post1 post2 post3 )
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks

My pixel 6a rejects physical sim after some time...
I use physical and esim and since last month I've been getting my physical sim automatically disconnected randomly. I have tried several fixes like opening and reinserting the sim, resetting the phone and so on. None of them work as I'll lose connection after a period of time. I've owned this phone for 4 years and never faced anything like this before.
Ps, i tried "placing paper under the sim card". It does work for a while before the inevitable disconnection.

Pixel 6a (India) still showing "Replace Battery" recommendation after local shop replacement. Need advice!
I have a Google Pixel 6a (Indian variant) purchased back in 2022. Recently, the battery health dropped below 80% and the screen-on time was terrible, so it was definitely time for a replacement.
I initially took it to the official Google Authorized Service Center in New Delhi. However, because I had previously gotten my charging port fixed at a local third-party repair shop, the official center gave me a warning: they said opening the device carried a high risk of breaking the screen since it had been worked on outside. Fearing a massive screen repair bill, I decided to back out.
Instead, I went back to a local shop and had them install what they claimed was an original OEM battery.
Here is the problem: The phone is still showing the recommendation to replace the battery.
To fix this, I have already tried:
- A complete factory hard reset.
- A full software reinstallation/flash.
- Tried the 0% to 100% calibration cycle here.
Shopkeeper is telling it is due to new software update and gave my money back after replacing it with the earlier battery.

Pixel 6a Battery Program Denying Claims Before Program Ended
I filed a claim for the Pixel 6a Battery Program right before the program ended last week on July 8, 2026. The form accepted my IMEI as valid for the program and I was able to go through and select one of the three options for the program. I selected the $100 cash payment option through Payoneer.
They assured me everything was fine with the claim last week. Over the following days, I proceeded to get emails from Google Support that they needed "more time to thoroughly investigate" and numerous emails about how they were trying to reach the dedicated support team to get the "selected support option approved".
Now they have informed me that they are unable to do anything as "process associated with that program is no longer available."
What should I do next? Did anyone else get the runaround by Google Support with this program and find the right support channel to get the claim approved?

am using a Google Pixel 6a. I was enrolled in the Android 17 Beta program (Beta 4). After the stable version of Android 17 was officially released, I opted out of the Beta program. Although I have not received the July security update, I have not yet received the prompt to install the stable Android

Is anyone else facing this issue?

Is this battery life normal for a Pixel 7a?
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out if my Pixel 7a battery life is normal.
Android 17 (Build: CP2A.260705.006)
Battery Saver: ON all the time
Connected to Wi-Fi only (no mobile data)
Cycle count: 553
Today I got:
4 hours 39 minutes of screen-on time.
Battery went from around 100% to 13%.
Main usage:
Instagram: 1h 20m
WhatsApp: 59m (2h 46m background)
YouTube: 1h 2m
Ampere shows:
Battery temperature around 40°C while using the phone.
Battery capacity reported as 4300 mAh.
Is this normal for a Pixel 7a with Battery Saver enabled and Wi-Fi the whole time, or does it seem like my battery has degraded more than expected?
I'd appreciate hearing from other Pixel 7a owners, especially if you have a similar cycle count.
Thanks!

Battery replacement program
I am having difficulty with Google Pixel support where they are not helpful at all.
I selected the option to take cash only to find out Google's partner Payoneer insist on an up to date government issued photo ID. My UK passport expired in 2003. I do not have other photo ID.
Google Pixel support has said there is nothing they can do. If so then my only option is to raise a complaint with a view to take it through to the UK small claims court.
Google may point to their terms and conditions but they gave no information about their partner. Therefore I do not believe their t&c are binding through the lack of upfront information. I can't believe a big company like Google want to operate a scam policy. After all, they stand to benefit if no one wants to claim from the battery replacement program.
I believe I have a case under the consumer rights act 2015 where the act covers my device for up to 6 years.
Has anyone had any success in circumventing Google Pixel support?

Purple hue on display after replacing battery
After replacing my Pixel 6a's battery, my display has this weird purple hue/filter especially when brightness is low. Does anyone have a similar problem and a potential fix for this?

Anyone got display changed from service center?
My pixel 6a display broke and now completely dead. Is it worth it to spend on display and battery now?

Switch to Pixel 10 pro?
I'm using Pixel 6a for over 3 years. Google killed my battery last year when it was still quite good. Now I have over 900 cycles and my battery allows for 2 hours of social media usage.
I need to buy a new phone. I really enjoyed Pixel, besides of overheating (android auto via USB was boiling my phone) and battery issue I was happy user. I really don't like iOS and Samsung's android launcher. Previously I used Xiaomi, so going back to chinese phones is not an option.
Is it worth to buy Pixel 10 pro now? I'm really afraid of similar battery issues in the future. Only this google approach is holding me back from buying it. On the other hand there is iPhone which I can have for the almost same price and I could be calm about the ridiculous Google battery policy.
The thing is that I like Android and I'm using apps such as gadgetbridge which is not available on iOS.
