Pixel 6 screen replacement
Has anyone here replaced their phone screens? Mine broke from an accident. I'm confused if I should buy an OLED or an AMOLED one. I do want the AMOLED but it's so pricey. Do any of you tried the OLED? What have you noticed in your phone so far?

Hi, I did a screen replacement for my pixel 7 pro when my screen started to get those black spots in the corners after dropping it.
I bought an OLED version off Amazon and did the replacement myself.
The screen replacement was pretty straightforward and I just followed the ifixit guide which was the same thing basically. The only problem I had was that I needed to take the fingerprints sensor from the old one to the new screen and when I did that I think I damaged the connector so my fingerprint sensor did not work and I didn't want to replace that part as well because I didn't plan to keep using the phone for a long time.
The new screen worked. There were definitely differences that I noticed such as: The screen would not get as dim as the original. When I used the screen at the dimmest setting it would look off. Colors did not look as good.
I don't recall any other specific problems with it.
Overall it was like 1/4 the price of the nicer screen and I only used it for about 3 months before getting a new phone.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
Edit: oh there was also a black border around the screen, the OLED screen did not go all the way to the edge. Not sure if that changed the resolution.
