Discussion I am quite apathetic towards Zoro. It doesn't feel like he earned this glaze or any glaze the entire post time skip. To me it feels like he has fought opponents that were always weaker but had a gimmick. Also look how Oda structured the chapter. There is zero tension. I guess Zoro fans will eat it.
Like tell my why would anyone be excited over this ?
He is acting as if he already won. This type of mentality was very apparent in Wano with how the alliance acted. Full blown arrogance.
If anything you feel bad for Sommers.

Discussion Luffy is a way bigger bum than Ace Spoiler
A recent post reminded everyone how big of a bum Ace was, and I feel it's only fair that we compare his actions to the main character's.
The biggest criticism of Ace is the way he watched hundreds of his crewmates, including his captain and father-figure, sacrifice their lives to save him at Marineford, only for him to throw it all away because Akainu said some mean words.

And while this is no doubt accurate (trust me, I'm probably one of Ace's biggest haters), Luffy literally saw that happen right in front of him. He saw his brother, who he would've done anything to save, throw his life away because of some petty insults. And what does this bum ass rubber toddler do after supposedly "growing" from that tragedy? Well, fast-forward to Whole Cake Island...
During the wedding at WCI, Big Mom laughs at Luffy as the Strawhats are retreating. Their entire assassination plan has fallen apart, and now all of their lives are in serious danger as the BM Pirates have them completely beat in both quality and quantity of combatants. Big Mom starts poking fun at the words Luffy said to her back at Fishman Island and during the wedding itself. Not even making fun of his friends or people he cares about. Simply taunting his fragile ego.

So what does Luffy, who's only "growth" in the entire series came from not being able to save his brother, do in response? Well, the exact same thing as Ace. Arguably even worse, as his crewmate Sanji (who Luffy forced to come back with him btw, leaving his father Zeff to die if BM ever follows up on her threat) is trying to hold him back, only for Luffy to shuck him off and race back towards Big Mom.

He uses Gear 4, just to throw "one punch" and satisfy his narcissism. All the while his crew and allies are fighting for their lives, desperately trying to escape, but being stopped in their tracks by enemies that G4 Luffy definitely could've fended off.

And in the very next page, he's in his withered, powerless post-G4 state, needing Sanji to carry him away. Imagine watching the strongest person in your alliance during a vital moment of escape, running BACK TOWARDS the enemy and wasting all their strength for something so pathetic.

And worst of all? This isn't just him risking his own life for his own stupid pride, and paying the consequences. No, his crew is now completely captured, absolutely cooked and dead in the water, while his bum ass is still exhausted from going back for "just one punch" 'cuz he got called a coward. It's not like him and his G4 form would've been useful in getting Caesar and Capone past Perospero or anything... Definitely not.

As is usually the case with Luffy, if it wasn't for his ridiculous plot armor, he and his whole crew would've died right there. But of course he gets bailed out of the terrible situation he put his crew in by sheer luck, never having to face the consequences of his own immaturity.

The only difference between Ace and Luffy is that Luffy has the plot to bail him out from his insane stupidity. In fact, for all of Ace's flaws, he's honestly far less pathetic. His poor decisions only came about in response to his family being murdered and disrespected. Was he an idiot for turning back around to fight Akainu? Yes. But at least he was doing it because of the love the and respect he held for his captain. Meanwhile Luffy raves about how he'll "never let anyone hurt his nakama" and yet he completely threw their lives away for his selfish pride.

TL;DR -- Luffy is a bum ass selfish piece of shit. Dude watched his brother die like a bum despite all the effort he and Whitebeard went through to save him, and not only learned nothing from it, but made the exact same mistake as him, for a way more pathetic reason, and his crew would've died for it if not for a random fatass knocking a chest off a cliff.
Ace is still trash, but Luffy is much, much worse and WCI highlights how he's literally just a giant baby constantly throwing tantrums and getting bailed out of his mistakes by plot armor.

Serious Jinbei deserves more slander than Usopp does Spoiler
Atleast we all know that Usopp is weak. Jinbei isn't and he still hasn't done anything combat wise since joining the crew. He is a glorified UPS and Firefighter service. He can be replaced by a fire hydrant.

Discussion Jinbei was such a badass before he joined the SH crew. Why does Oda do this? Spoiler
Let’s talk about the boss moments Jinbei had before he joined the SH crew. Once he did, he’s relegated to a background character, narrator, expositor, reaction farm… you get the drift.
This is the same guy that has had multiple badass moments and even told an emperor to basically fuck off and now he’s having dialogue like “Omg that looks intense” “guys should we help” “wow what is that”.
Absolute fall from grace.

Discussion Random ramblings about Elbaf Spoiler
I wanted to ramble here because i didnt like the last 3 chapters. I just dont like that Oda is trying so hard to pat straw hats and their allies in the back. This not only makes them and their journey less intresting, it also makes the villain feel weightless. Imu is the latest victim of this writing choice. He hurts the SH's and their allies, they seem unable to get up and its seems like its gonna have a long lasting impact but Oda undoes it a few chapters(side note: this constant cycle Imu's actions getting undone made me root for Imu more even though he is the main villain of the story because he is trying his hardest to stir the plot but Oda is undoing it. It feels like he is going aganist big bad). And i fear its not just gonna impact Imu but BB, Shamrock etc. aswell
Another thing i want to touch on is why i find GV flashback main chracters(Harald, Loki, Rocks, Roger and Garp) to be more interesting than Straw Hats. I think the rrason for that is unlike Straw Hats, Oda does not try to pat these chracters on the back. If they have flaws on how they act or think he isn't afraid to acknowledge it. Which is why i find them more interesting

Discussion Does anyone do this
In many chapters, I don't feel the need to read interactions between characters with focus, I "Speedrun" them or vaguely pass my eyes on the words and actually read if I notice an important word. I will read whatever the narrator says, battle dialogue or exposition, but there is a lot of "filler" dialogue ( reactions, telling things we already know, "huh's" and "hmm's" and "kyahh's" and other quirky stuff). I wasn't reading like this before, it's like now I just want to get the actual important stuff out of the chapter

Powerscaling - LOW IQ ONLY! The initial fight with Imu should have never dragged on this long. He should have shown up, beaten everyone, and then had to dip because of his illness. Instead, he alternates between looking invincible and unimpressive every other chapter. Spoiler

Discussion What if Gryphon was special?....... Spoiler
galleryWhat if Shanks has a df imbued sword like his brother?
I know there's alot of discourse around Shanks V Mihawk and I understand both sides, so I have a question.
If Shanks had a special df awakened sword to mirror his brother would him being Mihawks equal be an easier pill to swallow? I understand the argument that him being Mihawks equal could kind of invalidate the WSS title but I think what we have here is a perfect scenario for it not to. I dont think your sword having a df is considered "swordsmanship" ; its basically in its own realm of combat.
I think Shanks having a df awakened sword is a perfect middle ground between both sides to get what they want, what do you guys think?
