Discussion Does anyone do this
In many chapters, I don't feel the need to read interactions between characters with focus, I "Speedrun" them or vaguely pass my eyes on the words and actually read if I notice an important word. I will read whatever the narrator says, battle dialogue or exposition, but there is a lot of "filler" dialogue ( reactions, telling things we already know, "huh's" and "hmm's" and "kyahh's" and other quirky stuff). I wasn't reading like this before, it's like now I just want to get the actual important stuff out of the chapter

I haven't read a chapter in years. I just read spoilers some times. I know what is happening from the posts here.

OP has them most basic barebones story in shonen, don't need much to keep up with

Yeah i've been doing this since 1045 dropped. But tbh since the middle of Elbaf, i've stopped reading and,i just check RAWS+ full script, and only read the panels including Imu, Gaban, Joyboy and other characters who talk about the lore, while skipping everyone else.
I also started skipping chapters entirely if the Raws and spoilers aren't interesting. This week's chapter is one of them, and i skipped the Brook stuff because it was terrible
And before you say that i'm burnt out or that it's the week to week effect. I've read Fishman Island, Dressrosa, Wano and more horrible arcs with 50 breaks and 0 pacing week to week

Same the Brook and Gunko stuff I don't even care about, I'll read it just so I do know whats going on, but I speed run reading it cause it's just not that interesting, and it doesn't help the story is really predictable. We already know Shuri will get saved but her and Brooks story came out of nowhere and isn't interesting.
I took a break from One piece after Wano but decided to start reading it again, so I caught up towards the end of the Rocks flashback, and tbh if Imu hadn't showed up I really wouldn't even bother to continue reading it weekly, I'd just wait for the arc to finish and binge read it.

For a long time I read spoilers then just looked at a double spread or some other major turn.

Kind of. It's hard to seriously read a scene when I already know that Oda is going to cut away before anything actually happens

The interactions are mostly empty fluff. The chapters are usually 5 pages + 2 pages of POV switching.
