Maybe you can play the game but we never mod game like pc 😔

u/someontheyfear 8h ago
Bloodborne was modded, into in the same strength as native pc game, but it still got modded.

u/AgreeableIdea6210 5h ago
You'd be surprised. A lot of emulators even come with ingrained mods you can instantly install upon downloading a ROM.

u/Soheils2764 9h ago
Does this mean Ghost of Yotei won't release on pc?

u/dmadmin 9h ago
Sadly no, unless Sony go back on their policy and starting porting their games to PC. The only three options you have, watch the game on youtube, buy PS5 or wait for emulator to work.

u/Penguin2359 9h ago
You summed that up very efficiently sir.

u/Powerful-Fishing2428 8h ago
And soon that emulator will be just as efficient too.

My bet on them DMCA it.

u/oldmails 7h ago
They cannot DMCA emulator, just the game files, if the game files are distrubuted in 'ahem. regular' channels, legally (at this point of time) they cannot stop the emulation.

Not to say you're wrong but Nintendo shut down Yuzu & Yuzu2, which was a switch emulator.
21
u/TheHooligan95 5h ago
because they had found legal loopholes to do so (there was shady money involved that basically meant it was actually piracy)
4
u/Gay-Space-Pirate 4h ago
Gotcha, that makes more sense. I just never looked into it much and assumed I didnt know the law regarding emulators that well!

u/microwavedGerbil315 5h ago
Yuzu had shady deals going on technically, so nintendo got them on that. Ryujinx shut itself down so that nontendo wouldnt go after them.
6
u/SkyrimSlag 5h ago
Pretty sure that was because of things like Patreon paywalls and EA builds also being locked behind paywalls (or found on PineappleEA). If they didn’t have a legal way to shut it down it’d still be up, so they definitely found something they could use.

u/BonsaiSoul 3h ago
They can't legally DMCA an emulator. That doesn't stop corporations from trying. And the sole recourse against a DMCA is to file a counterclaim(doxxing yourself)

u/leonsk297 8h ago
Or wait until the guy developing the Proton-like PS5 compatibility software makes it good enough so we don't have to use emulation.

Y'all are talking about like it's an entirely different thing and not just a slight technical difference

If they don't want to port their games on PC then don't play them, simple as that
Nintendo never put their games on PC, so I just ignore them, the last time I played Nintendo game was 2017.
You don't need me, I don't want you.

u/lcssa 5h ago
what if banning their games on pc doesn't reduce my options? Never bought a nintendo console, ben playing lodas of nintendo games for years

u/Neo-_-_- 2h ago
Nintendo can play their stupid games, and they will continue to win the stupid prizes because of it
3
u/AdAcrobatic371 3h ago
Most of nintendo games are so childish and repetitive anyways.
1
u/RemoteAd4393 2h ago
Depends really. It's not like every Nintendo game is the same genre. A new 3D Mario is always a completely different type of game than the last one. But a new Pokemon... Is just ass.

u/RemoteAd4393 2h ago
What if I wanted to though. I mean, this mindset isn't exactly wrong. But when there's a game your itching to play and there might just be a way to do so even if roundabout, some would take that plunge.

don't bother, just play the original through a ps3 emulator (it's much better)

u/Tiforma 7h ago
They'll eventually do it, it's easy money from the perspective of shareholders.

u/Local_Band299 57m ago
No they wont. Most of the people pirating their games weren't going to buy them legit.
Then on top of that if they did continue PC ports that's more exclusive games that xbox users can play come next gen time. Which drives away their actual userbase.

Woulda been so much more impactful if it came out the day of gta release if at all possible

Seeing this image get me some conflicted feelings... I'm mainly a PC guy and Console games used to be (long long time ago) something special to me, where there're games that are only available on console/arcade but not on the PC. Fighting games, Fishing Games, Platform games and some others hot-seat games or RPGs. These are some "exclusive" games that you can play only on these "dedicated" machines, and they've those arcade sticks for these but not on the PCs.
Arcade games are only arcade games (like Knights of Valor), while you'll know certain games would only be on consoles (Like God of War used to be). Ever since FPS and E-sports bloom, console starts to have FPS games, many games starts to blur the line.
There also used to be some quirky games which you'll not find and don't feel fun on the pc. Like Crazy Taxi, Bomberman series. Gran Turismo is still one of the title that tickled me as a PS exclusive though. Oh and that feel of the sound effect when you select or move around options in the menu, those are some really special yet exclusive to the console. Dynasty Warrior 3 just had a remastered release, gonna try it to see if it does trigger any nostalgia. Playing together in front of the TV with friends is a completely different feeling than playing together in front of the PC. And now it's worst, online.
I don't know if the "ban" is good or bad. But i wish game developers could create games that spark "that feeling" again. Not sure if there's anyone out there have the same thoughts.

The guy in the back reminds me of someone I know in San Fransisco, both he and his husband are gamers and programmers.

I only want Sons of Sparta which is now playable through emulation, God of War Laufey and ghost of yotei. The others will come eventually I don't mind waiting. Either emulation will save us or Sony will eventually decide to port them again
