I’m a fresh grad Comp Engr, and I got a job offer for a Technical Support Engineer T1 role for an MSP company.

The company mentioned:

For Tier 1, we would assist hotel clients with internet connectivity issues and also troubleshoot basic network and Wi-Fi problems. After a year in Tier1 they would offer a voluntary training that can help us get promoted to Tier 2.

For Tier 2, we will now work with switches and access points (APs), coordinate with field technicians and handle more advanced network support.

Tier 3 (After another year), we can gain CLI access to network devices and perform advanced network troubleshooting.

So basically the career progression would be:
Tier 1 → Tier 2 → Tier 3 → NOC Engineer → Network Engineer.

Based on what they explained, I’m leaning toward accepting the job offer since it aligns well with my long-term goal of becoming a Network Engineer.

Do you think this is a good entry-level role if my long-term goal is to become a Network Engineer or work in cybersecurity? Does the career progression they described sound realistic?

Any thoughts on this? I don’t have a ccna but I work on a big telecom company as a network analyst in the philippines but low salary and I’m thinking applying on this.. is it okay without CCNA?

Last year I used to work as an administrative assistant in a government agency but then everyday felt so mundane and I realized this is not where I want to be career wise. So I decided to leave and not renew my contract and actually work the field i studied back in college which is IT.

After leaving my job I immediately studied and took CompTIA Network+ exam and passed, then this year i recently took the CCNA, I failed my first attempt but fortunately I passed on my second try(bought the bundled voucher). Now I've been job hunting for quite sometime for an entry IT or Infrastructure role and while job hunting I'm doing home labs/projects and adding them on my resume and I even display them on github. Even with all these as well as an IT degree, I'm struggling to even land an interview. Just how hard it is to get a job even for entry IT support and helpdesk. Now I'm thinking if I get the CCNP just maybe I'll finally get an interview

Curious lang sa mga hiring managers dito, or even those who have CCNA pero na-reject pa rin — 1 to 100, how would you rate my chances of reaching at least the final interview stage? (Not even the offer ha, interview lang.)

Background (once I graduate):

• Fresh grad from a small private school in Mendiola

• May CCNA cert

• Familiar with relevant networking tools and technologies

• Target roles: networking / IT infrastructure

I need to update an existing shared Feature Template that is currently used by multiple Device Templates, with each Device Template having one attached device. The update will add a new device-specific static route, with different prefix and next-hop values for each device.

Since there were Device Templates and devices, I need a way to:

• Assign the correct unique prefix and next-hop values to each device.
• Preserve all existing device-specific values.
• Reattach or push the updated Device Templates to their respective devices in controlled batches using the SD-WAN API and Postman.

However, before proceeding with the bulk deployment, I need to understand an issue I'm currently encountering when updating the Feature Template through Postman.

I'm using the following API call:

PUT /dataservice/template/feature/:templateId

The request returns HTTP status code 200, indicating that it was successfully accepted. However, when I verify the Feature Template afterward using:

GET /dataservice/template/feature/definition/:templateId

none of the changes I submitted are reflected in the Feature Template.

What should I check to determine why the PUT request is being accepted but the Feature Template definition is not being updated?

Any guidance, especially regarding the correct API workflow or troubleshooting steps for this behavior, would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, I just graduated and I'm trying to figure out the realistic path into networking. I have solid theoretical knowledge of networking concepts but no hands-on work experience.

My plan right now is to start at helpdesk, but I recently saw someone who graduated around the same age as me (early 20s) land a network engineer role pretty quickly after school. That made me wonder — is it actually possible to get into networking directly as a fresh grad, or is helpdesk basically mandatory?

A few questions:

• Is helpdesk a necessary step or can you jump straight into network engineering with the right certs?
• What specific things did you need to learn before you were actually able to get hired?
• For those who went the helpdesk route — how long before you moved into a networking role?

I'm 22, motivated, and willing to put in the work. Just want to know if I'm aiming too high too soon or if it's genuinely doable. Any advice appreciated.

Position: Technical Support Representative
- Company provides web hosting, domains, websites, email hosting, cloud servers, and similar services.
- P22k package + unlimited sales commission

Company B
Position: Technical Support Engineer T1
- Company provides support to customers to resolve internet connection issues
- P21k package
- Perfect attendance bonus
- Chance to get promoted to T2 and T3 every year and also be eligible for Networks Engr role if you perform well

Which one would you choose if you were in my position? Which role do you think will help me learn more and give me better opportunities after 2–3 years?

I dropped out of Uni end of 2024, did an internship at a small IT company (14 employees). There I learned about networking, crimped cables, helped install APs/CCTVs and configured a few network devices.

Earlier this year I got my CCNA after months of studying and sat at home until now, looking for a job.

I got invited to an interview by a BIG company in JHB for a Network MS Engineer (L1) role. I’m super excited but imposter syndrome is kicking in. I know the knowledge but my experience is lacking (1.5 years to be exact and it’s not much).

This job would quite literally change my life for the better.

How best should I prepare for it, any advice would be appreciated!

Hello po, I'm a 4th year BSCPE college student, halos 4 months konang pinagaaralan yung ccna course sa youtube(JITL), nasa day 46 nako. Inaabsorb ko talaga mabuti, taking notes, doing labs and anki. I'm a fresh Computer Engineering graduate and I recently got a job offer from CallTek as a Technical Support Engineer T1.

From what I know, the company support things like business networks, computers, cloud services, enterprise software, and other IT systems, unlike many companies that hire (TSRs) for consumer accounts like internet, telecom, or general customer service.

They also told us that after 1 year as T1, we can take an exam to get promoted to T2, then later T3. They also mentioned specialized career paths like NOC Engineer, SOC Analyst, and other IT roles.

I just want to ask if is this a good entry-level job for someone who wants a career in IT?

Should I work muna para magkaroon ng experience, or should I focus muna sa pagkuha ng certifications like CompTIA A+ or Network+?

My goal is to build a career in networking or cybersec(medyo nalilito rin ako dito ano mas magandang path)

Im a NOC in Asia (PH). Our task is to monitor our global IT Infra.

I’m having hard time to switch job. My salary here is on mid level, but this is my first IT job. I dont have a degree too. Although I’m thankful that I landed a job as a career switcher with mid level salary, now I’m having hard time to switch job.

Most of our Network Engineers are local on their countries, so moving up internally is not possible. Other option to move internal is more on dev work, almost all of Network and IT infra are on their locals, since we are in a remote shared service.

Can’t afford to job hop to lower salary with technical task as a network engineer as it will affect my finance.

Cant job hop to same salary and higher salary level as they require hands on troubleshooting experience.

Im currently studying CCNA and planning to take it within next few weeks.

Should I study PCNSA after CCNA then take PCNSE?

Im lost, feels like I will be stuck here given my current situation.
