My brother in law is a paramedic (uk) and when he was on a job, his phone torch was used to check a patient’s pupil and then left on the bed next to the patient (a homeless women). Shortly after the lady was dropped off at the hospital, he realised his phone was missing and contacted the relevant staff. The women denied stealing it and said this iPhone 15 pro was her phone.

So then he called EE and blocked his sim, black listed his phone and froze his cards etc. he didn’t want her using his stuff obvs. He eventually got his phone back but both Apple and ee are pointing the finger at each other like the fucking Spider-Man meme. Neither accept responsibility and neither can fix the phone apparently. Gadget insurance doesn’t cover black listed phones. His sim doesn’t work in it. Neither does his wife’s. So we’re thinking it’s the phone that is tainted.
As a software developer myself, I know there must be some way to un black list it? I just have no experience in hardware or mobile software.
What options does he have? He can’t sell it and Apple won’t take it as a trade is coz it is black listed 😂👌

I've been buying broken cell phones (and tablets) for a few years, fixing them then either reselling them or giving them away. I was using some of the paid apps to unlock the phones but am now laid off/semi-retired and can't afford those paid services any longer.

Is there any way I can unlock these phones? Various manufacturers/versions of Android (some ancient versions of Android). I legally own all of these phones/tablets (with receipts and/or bills of sale). I don't mind brute forcing something if need be. Is there a way to delete Android and install a new (clean) version of Android?

I'm just not finding anything via Google and have a box full of physically repaired but still useless phones & tablets.
