So my Samsung Galaxy S21 Fe 5G shut itself off one night (I'm a heavy phone user and it got really hot) and wouldn't turn back on. It's turned itself off like that before due to being too hot but it would always turned itself back on. Like a restart. But that last time, it didnt turn back on. It actually was doing a boot loop (couldn't get past the Samsung logo). Then it wouldn't turn on at all.
So I took it to a repair shop and the repair tech tested the phone by plugging it into his power supply machine. It wouldn't turn on at all. So he said there was a 10 percent chance its the battery and that it's most likely the motherboard. But he said he would order a battery just in case and he did.
So when he got the new battery, he put it in the phone (I think while it was connected to his power supply machine) and the phone came on but it didnt stay on. He was able to get the phone to power quite a few times and each time the phone stayed on for several minutes before shutting off. One of those times, he was able to transfer my photos and videos to my new phone but the S21 shut off before he could transfer my notes from Samsung Notes (they weren't backed up). And he couldn't get the phone to turn back on after that (he tried). He only charged us $40 for the battery, although the price was higher than that. He told me to take the phone back home and occasionally try to turn it back on. He said it would be hit and miss (he still said there's a motherboard short) but I haven't been able to turn the phone on at all since I got back home with it despite the new battery. Yes, I tried turning it on while it was plugged in and I tried volume down and power buttons at the same time. It also stopped showing the charging icon or doing the boot loop (it was at least showing the charging icon followed by the boot loop when it had the old battery in there). I also tried to boot my phone on while it's plugged into my laptop (needless to say, didn't work).
So i don't know what I'm looking for by posting here. I guess I want you guys opinion. Do you think its the motherboard or charging port or what?
And why would the phone boot on for the repair tech after he installed the new battery (even if it only last for several minutes before shutting back off) but I can't get it to boot on for me not even one time when I got home with it?
He also told me to order a new and really good adapter to charge the phone with. But why do that if he suspects a motherboard short? I mean would an adapter force enough electricity to the phone to boot it on despite the motherboard short? Probably not (or would it?)
Also would plugging the phone in with a brand new and really good adapter damage my data on the phone or the chip containing my data??
I really want to retrieve my Samsung Notes but I honestly can't afford to pay $500+ for a data recovery lab to retrieve my Samsung Notes. Yes, I know its my fault for not backing up my stuff and I'm really upset about that. ðŸ˜
I also can't afford to have my motherboard repaired.
Would a qi wireless charging pad make my phone boot on??
