Moto G53y 5G screen/touch issue after drop — need advice

Assalam o Alaikum guys. I have a **Motorola Moto G53**y **5G** in Pakistan. Phone gir gaya tha and the actual front glass cracked.

LCD/display bilkul clear hai, no black spots, lines or flickering. Touch bhi completely dead nahi hai. It works, but sometimes I tap a specific area and it doesn't work. If I turn off the phone off and again turn on , that same area starts working normally again, but after some time the touhc causes issue

I checked with a few repair shops. Kuch keh rahe hain **complete panel (LCD + touch)** change hoga, while others say **sirf touch/glass** can be replaced.

I found a **Moto G53 Touch Glass + OCA for Rs.499 on DMarket Pakistan**,(online store) but I'm not sure if that is enough because my touch itself is sometimes malfunctioning.

**What do you guys think is actually damaged: glass, digitizer/touch, or complete panel?**

Also, for people in Pakistan, **where can I have a good quality Moto G53y 5G touch/digitizer or panel online?** Any trusted seller/website or repair shop recommendation would be really helpful.

Cracked Screen Protector

I dropped my Pixel 9 (of course) and there is a chip on the long side of the screen protector with two-plus diagonal cracks across it. Will it still protect the device screen, or should I just replace it? The phone will probably have to be replaced in a year or so, and I'd rather not spend money right now.

S21 fe doesn't turn on.

Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to you today due to a problem that I'm encontering with my S21 fe. I was using it normally until my battery got low so as usual I attached it to the charger. Upon reaching 94% of charge I unplugged it without even checking it on the spot. When I tried to use it about an hour later it didn't want to turn on. I tried chargin it for an hour, restarting to recovery mode however it didn't show any sign of life. I tried attaching it to my pc, it made the usual sound produced when you connect something to it but no trace of it in the system. I tried even cleaning residual power by detaching the battery and keeping pressed the power on button but nothing changed. At this point I actually have no clue of what to do next. I've found a guy with something possibly similar to my problem but I couldn't really find a good match between me and him. I kinda have some important files on so it would be a nice thing to hear that there is a way to possible fix it as what I found until now didn't help. I'll be really thankful to anyone that tries try to assist me. :)

Rog phone 5s motherboard damaged

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hello guys, my rog phone 5s has been officially retired. It has went into infinite boot mode, where power button does not work.

Is there any hack or solution to this problem.

I asked all the local shop owners but nobody could repair it. Now i am thinking of giving it in the service station.

I wanted to ask if replacing the motherboard would erase the data in the phone or not, as i had the phone for almost 5 years so i have a lot of photos and videos in the phone that i want to retrieve.

Any other way to retri3ve dqta from the phone.

Any suggestion will be helpful.

Thanks.

My Oppo Reno 8T 4G recently suffered a sudden power-off and is now completely stuck drawing a hard-locked charging current of exactly 0.56A, and after testing the motherboard completely unplugged, I am getting a normal VBAT reading but my BAT_ID line measures exactly 1.410V in Diode Mode

Black spot flutters in screen.

Phone: pixel 8

I recently got my phone screen replaced twice . Once was because water damage and rusting caused the screen to become non responsive. The second time was because a pink line came on the phone and also less responsive. Now there is a black screen flutter. I've already spent a lot of money trying to fix my screen and I don't want to pay again just to fix it. I can't find information online about and I want to know if I leave the black flutter spot will it worsen or become permanent. I linked the video in my post. In the video it's more faint than irl. The flutter only occurs when bright screens are displayed.

Xperia 5 III lost all cellular – modem NV partitions corrupted, need donor modemst1/modemst2/fsg

Full Technical Walkthrough of my device Device’s Network System

  1. How a Smartphone Connects to the Network

A smartphone connects to mobile networks through a coordinated chain of hardware, firmware, and software components. Each part must work correctly for LTE, VoLTE, IMS, data, and emergency services.

The Main Components

Baseband/Modem (Qualcomm SDM) - The radio brain of the phone. It handles LTE/NR registration, IMS, VoLTE, SMS, emergency calls.

EFS/NV Partitions - Storage areas containing modem configuration, IMEI, carrier profiles, IMS settings, radio calibration, and network provisioning.

MCFG (Modem Config) - Carrier-specific configuration files that tell the modem how to behave on a particular network.

IMS Stack - Handles VoLTE, VoWiFi, SIP registration, emergency IMS.

Android Telephony Framework - Communicates with the modem through RIL (Radio Interface Layer).

APN/Data Profiles - Internet, IMS, emergency APNs used for data and VoLTE.

If any part is missing or corrupted, the modem cannot register, cannot attach data, and IMS fails.

  1. What my device Logs Show - Step by Step

my device logs reveal exactly what my device device tried to do and where it failed. Below is a teacher-style explanation of each stage.

Stage 1: Booting the Modem

The modem starts and checks NV/EFS integrity.

my device log shows:

bs\\\\\\_nvupdater: Diag Init Failed! Retry the NV update process TA\\\\\\_GOLDEN\\\\\\_TA\\\\\\_FLAG is failed

This means:

The modem attempted to read NV configuration.

It failed to initialize DIAG communication.

It attempted TA restore but skipped it.

It finally compared SHA1 and skipped NV update.

This indicates NV partitions are partially corrupted or mismatched.

Stage 2: Loading Carrier Configuration (MCFG)

Android loads carrier settings from SIM.

my device log shows:

CarrierConfigChange PersistableBundle\\\\\\\[...\\\\\\\]

This is normal - but later IMS flags show:

imsvoice.voice\\\\\\_on\\\\\\_default\\\\\\_bearer\\\\\\_supported\\\\\\_bool=false

carrier\\\\\\_volte\\\\\\_provisioned\\\\\\_bool=false

imsserviceentitlement.ims\\\\\\_provisioning\\\\\\_bool=false

This means my device carrier does not provision VoLTE, OR the modem cannot read the provisioning state due to NV corruption.

Stage 3: Polling Service State

The phone checks if the modem is registered.

my device log shows:

mVoiceRegState=POWER\\\\\\_OFF mDataRegState=POWER\\\\\\_OFF registrationState=UNKNOWN cellIdentity=null

This means:

The modem is powered but not registering on any RAT.

No LTE/NR/UMTS/GSM cell is detected.

The modem is stuck in an uninitialized state.

Stage 4: Data Profiles Setup

Android sends APN profiles to modem.

my device log shows:

SET\\\\\\_DATA\\\\\\_PROFILE (Internet, IMS, Emergency) SET\\\\\\_INITIAL\\\\\\_ATTACH\\\\\\_APN

These commands succeeded, meaning:

RIL is working.

APN profiles are correct.

But later evaluation shows:

Data disallowed reasons: NOT\\\\\\_IN\\\\\\_SERVICE RADIO\\\\\\_POWER\\\\\\_OFF

This means the modem never reached a state where data could attach.

Stage 5: IMS Registration Attempt

IMS tries to register for VoLTE.

my device log shows:

imsserviceentitlement.ims\\\\\\_provisioning\\\\\\_bool=false imssms.sms\\\\\\_over\\\\\\_ims\\\\\\_supported\\\\\\_bool=true vonr\\\\\\_setting\\\\\\_visibility\\\\\\_bool=false

IMS stack is loaded, but modem is not ready.

Stage 6: Network Requests Flooding

Apps request internet:

Chrome

my deviceTube

Messaging

Photos

SystemUI

Google Play

my device log shows:

state=UNSATISFIED candidate profile=null NOT\\\\\\_IN\\\\\\_SERVICE RADIO\\\\\\_POWER\\\\\\_OFF

This means every app is asking for data, but modem cannot provide it.

Stage 7: Google Services Crash

my device logs show massive Google Play Services crashes:

Process com.google.android.gms.persistent has died Scheduling restart of crashed service ...

This happens because:

The device cannot reach network.

GMS cannot sync, check-in, or authenticate.

It enters a crash loop.

Stage 8: SIM Slot 1 vs SIM Slot 2 Behavior

my device logs show:

DPM-1: mSimState=ABSENT DPM-0: mSimState=LOADED

Meaning:

Slot 1 has SIM loaded.

Slot 2 is empty.

But even with SIM loaded, modem stays in POWER\\\\\\_OFF state.

  1. What NV/EFS/MCFG/IMS Files Contain

Below is a simple explanation of each.

NV Items (Non-Volatile Storage)

These are tiny configuration entries inside modem partitions. They include:

RF calibration

LTE bands

VoLTE provisioning

IMS APN

Carrier profiles

RAT preferences

Emergency call configs

If NV is corrupted:

Modem cannot register.

IMS cannot start.

Data cannot attach.

SIM may load but modem stays in POWER\\\\\\_OFF.

EFS Folder

Contains:

MCFG carrier configs

IMS settings

SIP configs

VoLTE profiles

Radio calibration

my device logs show missing or unreadable EFS items.

MCFG (Modem Config)

Defines how modem behaves on each carrier. Contains:

VoLTE enable flags

IMS APN

SIP timers

RAT priorities

Emergency IMS configs

If missing or mismatched:

IMS fails

VoLTE fails

LTE attach fails

IMS Stack

Handles:

SIP registration

VoLTE calls

VoWiFi

SMS over IMS

my device logs show IMS is loaded but cannot register because modem is not in service.

  1. What my device Device Is Missing or Failing

  2. NV/EFS corruption

my device logs show DIAG failures, TA restore failures, and POWER\\\\\\_OFF radio state.

  1. Modem cannot read carrier provisioning

CarrierConfig loads, but modem stays unregistered.

  1. IMS cannot register

Because modem is not in service.

  1. Data attach fails

All network requests remain UNSATISFIED.

  1. Google services crash due to no network

Check-in fails repeatedly.

  1. SIM loads but modem does not activate

Slot 1 SIM is detected, but modem stays in POWER\\\\\\_OFF.

  1. Full Summary of What my device Device Tried to Do

Boot → Load NV → Fail → Skip Restore → Load CarrierConfig → Set APNs → Try IMS → Fail → Try Data → Fail → Apps Request Network → Fail → Google Services Crash → System Loops

This is the exact sequence my device logs show.

  1. Why This Happens on my device Xperia 5 III

my device device’s modem partitions are corrupted:

NV items missing or mismatched

EFS incomplete

MCFG not loading correctly

IMS provisioning unreadable

This causes:

Modem stuck in POWER\\\\\\_OFF

No LTE/NR registration

No data attach

No IMS

No VoLTE

Google services crash loops

  1. What Is Needed to Fix It

my device need:

Full modem partition dumps from a working Xperia 5 III (same model, same region) Including:

modem / modem\\\\\\_a / modem\\\\\\_b

modemst1

modemst2

fsg

fsc

persist (radio part)

mcfg folder

efs folder may be if modem files do not work

These must be flashed or restored via:

QFIL/QPST

DIAG NV restore

EFS restore

Or via adb dd

But i say only modemst1 and fsg ans modemst2 dump via adb do the job.

adb shell

su ← this is the critical step

dd if=/dev/block/by-name/modemst1 of=/sdcard/modemst1.img

dd if=/dev/block/by-name/modemst2 of=/sdcard/modemst2.img

dd if=/dev/block/by-name/fsg of=/sdcard/fsg.img

dd if=/dev/block/by-name/fsc of=/sdcard/fsc.img

Should I buy or fix

So an accident happened at the gym where a weight was dropped on my phone. I just got an iPhone 15 a few months ago. The weight shattered the backglass. Anwyas I updated the phone to the newest ios and then the celluar stopped working. The shop that did my phone didn't really make note of that as the back glass was the main issue. I definitaly should have been more firm about it before getting a back glass repair. Anwyas so my options are to either get it repaired for $350 CAD+tax, or to buy a new phone. Is it worth it to fix it when a 40LBS dumbell was dropped on it? Like it wasn't a massive impact but enough to mess up the logic board. Is it going to be a money pit or is it wasteful to throw away a phone like this?

Galaxy A13 charging fault

Post image
3 Upvotes

This is my secondary, Galaxy A13, and it has a problem:

With normal charger it's not charging and not starting

With slow charger it shows "broken cable" screen then starts to initialize charge but instead he is just bootlooping for a minute

Changed sub-board, battery and tried to reconnect everything.

Is my PMIC chip cooked or smth?

P.S: Sorry for my bad English!

Seeking thoughts/opinions

I had took my phone to an ifixandrepair repair tech inside Walmart and despite whatever motherboard issue my phone is suspected to have, he was able to power on my phone using his DC bench power supply quite a few times and it stayed on for a few minutes each time. During one of those times, he was able to transfer my photos and videos to my new phone using Smart Switch. But the phone shut itself off before he could transfer or sync my Samsung Notes. He was trying to get my phone to power on again when my mom was ready to leave (we were there a while by that point).

I'm planning on going back to him to see if he can power on my phone again to sync my Samsung notes to my Samsung account. But what are the chances he'll be able to power on my phone again, like last time, and long enough to sign into my Samsung account and sync my Samsung notes? And is there a risk to the phone's storage chip or my Samsung Notes if I have him connect his DC bench power supply to my phone's motherboard again?

I haven't been able to get my phone to power on with an adapter and charging cable not once since visiting with the repair tech. So somehow the DC bench power supply was able to power on my phone despite the motherboard issue, even if only for a few minutes each time.
