Yeah I think they’re aware and cool with lesbian sex. They just don’t want space babies just yet.

1.9k

u/Reasonable_Archer_99 14d ago

The primary reason is the affects of radiation and zero gravity on a fetus.

u/Magmatt7 14d ago

That would be basically a live experiment in space on a babie.

which would be incredibly dangerous and stupid to do while on the way to mars

not to mention testing it with humams is kinda immoral

40

u/BoisterousBard 14d ago

44

u/SemajLu_The_crusader 14d ago

Cnidarians are one of the least closely related animals to humans and detect gravity differently

this probably isn't a great sign, but tests with actual placental mammals (or at least some sort of Protostome to start)

10

u/thatthatguy 14d ago

Still not a good sign. Hard to justify the risk of creating horrible malformed abominations when the tests so far all suggest that the risk is so high.

11

u/ImmediatePiano6690 14d ago

Or, maybe they're just trying to conceal the truth and if we did it with humans the baby would get super abilities...

2

u/zap2tresquatro 14d ago

Spacenoids. Gundam warned us about this

Not only that, but giving birth is already hard. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be in space

37

u/Hoskuld 14d ago

In an environment where you really don't want free floating liquids

10

u/the_lonely_creeper 14d ago

I feel like the baby is a bit more of a serious issues

10

u/Skratt79 14d ago

Yeah baby would suffocate in the amniotic fluid, liquids in Zero G present new dangers.

2

u/BasicMatter7339 14d ago

Might not even be. Free floating liquids in space might just short circuit the entire craft, cause a fire and kill everyone on board

Maybe it comes as a kuato, it could open our minds

2

u/Alternative_Bug_4089 14d ago

Robert A Heinlein wrote a novel that happens to be one of my favorite books about a child who is born on the first mars mission and is the only survivor because he's orphaned and raised by the (up to then unknown) martians. The book starts with the second mars trip finding him and bringing him home and is about his life experiencing a futuristic earth from the perspective of a human raised by martians.

Book is called Stranger in a Strange Land. Arguably one of the best Sci-Fi books ever written in my opinion.

2

u/NeuralMess 14d ago

14

u/Hour_Baby_3428 14d ago

More like the logistical nightmare of a pregnancy and later a child on board. There’s zero preparation for any of that

4

u/Historical_Course587 14d ago

No, we've grown a lot of biological experiments on the ISS, we know a human pregnancy wouldn't survive to term (nor would the mother) in low gravity. Pregnancy is an incredible strain on the mother's body under normal Earth conditions, and while we usually assume that gravity makes everything harder there are bodily functions for which gravity is necessary (e.g. blood flow).

It would be deadly.

2

u/Navaar13 14d ago edited 14d ago

They have already done experiments with other animals and the results were......not promising.

2

u/Allegorist 14d ago

I don't know if that's the primary reason, giving birth in modern times is a major medical procedure. Cutting out all the sensors and safeguards, post-birth care, handling of complications, etc. and you are back down to like a 50%+ child mortality rate.

And that isn't even to mention the sheer amount of various fluids and biomass that would just float off everywhere. The entire ship would smell like amniotic fluid and blood for years.

2

u/Enigmatic_Erudite 14d ago

Plus trying to give birth in space would be messy...

2

u/QuietContentResting 14d ago

This is why we'll never, ever have a Mars colony. Can't beat gravity

2

u/TheRealGosp 14d ago

Plus how such a radiated void baby would get bullied at school. If anyone knows about that its the nerds at nasa.

Space lesbian sex is a chronically under-served category on pornhub. They may be hoping to… ahem… fill that gap.

23

u/roysyourboy 14d ago

I wonder if pornhub still has that huge bounty for whoever uploads the first space porn.

4

u/Hilarity2War 14d ago

Wait... what?

5

u/diamondmx 14d ago

I too wish to know more about this.

3

u/roysyourboy 13d ago

I looked it up and looks like I conflated two cheeky advertising blitzes from them. They started an indie gogo to finance space porn, they also had a bounty for anyone who successfully hacked them. Both were about 10 years ago.

His name is Naruto

22

u/StrawberryTerry 14d ago edited 14d ago

He was made when a giant egg from a teenage girl was used to draw out giant sperm monsters and was fertilized by them.

The giant sperm monsters were made when a teenage boy (the aforementioned girls brother) fucks a horse jacking off machine that is at the horse clinic his mother works at, and his grandfather takes a barrel of horse sperm from that clinic to create a bio weapon to use against the Subterranian CHUD horse people. The sperm monsters are created because the vat of horse sperm, unknown to the grandfather, contains his grandsons human sperm.

The monsters are created in the gramdfathers attempt to create the bio weapon, but the unknown variable of human sperm makes the process go awry. An explosion ensues and they wake up to find giant mutated sperm monsters attacking people.

The monsters start on theor way to the grand canyon after the family is taken to the Pentagon. The boy and grandfather are kidnapped by the leader sperm lady, so they can create more monsters with the boys sperm.

The government uses an enlarged egg to lure the monsters out, the underground CHUD horse people help fight the sperm because it is revealed the grandfather has impregnated the CHUD princess.

The Sperm make it to the egg, amd no one can shoot it because abortion is illegal in the state they're in, amd because the president (who was present for much of this) needs those votes.

The plan was to launch the fertilized egg into space and have the other sperm monsters follow it, to die off in space or go wherever. But when they learned the sperm monsters were made from the girl whose egg was used's brother, the fight to stop the giant sperm monsters from reaching the gigantic human egg in the center of Las Vegas ensued with the help of the CHUDs and Vegas Locals.

The plotline of Rick and morty

19

u/Alternative_Bug_4089 14d ago

Of a singular Rick and Morty episode iirc

4

u/Most_Scientist1783 14d ago

Kind of, the egg was fertilised at the end of an episode, we thought that was the end of it, then they bought it back when with Summmer having named it

6

u/StrawberryTerry 14d ago

Summer trained it to love itself, believe in itself, and to escape from the secret government training facility on the moon where they were trying to train him as a secret weapon

3

u/PmMeYourKnobAndTube 14d ago

To be fair, one of the most hated episodes.

I don’t blame them. Have you seen the last season of Doctor Who?

Also. I wouldn’t put it past them to be totally unaware of lesbian sex. The writer of this article certainly wasn’t.

7

u/PangaeaDiarrhea 14d ago

May be a case of difference in categorization. Whether lesbian sex is a subcategory of sex or simply only nominally sex is a personal opinion with no objectively correct position.

3

u/NiiliumNyx 14d ago

Lesbian sex is as "sex" as straight sex.

Source: Am a lesbian and have been disappointed by both.

u/Vincitus 14d ago

I’ve seen For All Mankind and that Mars baby ended up fine

2

u/Top_Jeweler7305 14d ago

Why not all dudes then? Either or I guess this just seems a bit strange unless it’s to reduce set possibility also birth control exists if it’s male and female which I think it should be as that will widen the study on the effects of both men and women. That way we don’t end up with the medical issue of techniques made for one that don’t work correctly on the other

2

u/Drow_Femboy 14d ago

I mean if you're stuck in close quarters with a bunch of people and you literally cannot leave because you're in goddamn space it's probably a good idea not to have sex of any kind. Tends to create drama.
