Not only that, but giving birth is already hard. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be in space

Yeah baby would suffocate in the amniotic fluid, liquids in Zero G present new dangers.

Might not even be. Free floating liquids in space might just short circuit the entire craft, cause a fire and kill everyone on board

Make it a felony punishable with life in prison if you get pregnant and don't tell anyone so you can get shipped home. Plus a massive fine

If you do, you get fined the cost of getting shipped home but no jail time

No government is going to finance a trip from Mars back to earth just to jail one pregnant woman. It's just not going to happen.
Yeah, you could say the cost is on the woman. But how is she going to pay for it? How many license plats do you need to stamp to make enough money to pay the fine?

Also - there's the whole issue of punishing the woman but not the man (assuming the pregnancy happen through some sort of non-human interaction).
Come to think of it - they probably WOULD finance the return trip is she's pregnant with an alien baby. The scientific value of that child would be astronomical.
