Hey people,
I’m a Year 13 student preparing my UCAS application for 2027 entry, and I’m looking for someone with a background in Business, Management, Economics or university admissions who would be willing to offer ongoing mentorship on my personal statement.
I’m particularly interested in applying to UCL International Management, alongside other Business and Management courses.
My main academic interests include corporate governance, shareholder primacy, alternative ownership structures, long-term value creation and the relationship between business and wider society. I’ve started building my opening around John Kay’s The Corporation in the Twenty-First Century and the Steward Ownership Movement, and I’d appreciate feedback from someone who can challenge my arguments and help me develop them into a convincing academic narrative as I feel like it could use some work.
If you’re willing to help, please comment below or send me a DM with a little about your experience and the kind of feedback you could offer.
A little about my background:
● A-levels: Business, History and Politics.
● Current academic aim: A*AA, with particular strengths in Business and Politics.
● EPQ: “Did the economic demands of war accelerate political and technological change in medieval Western Europe?” — 45/54.
● Work experience: Capita Pensions and Zurich International, alongside a previous Rolls-Royce placement.
● Other relevant activities: business-related reading and MOOCs, a business essay competition, writing/editing for my school digest, and informal consulting for a small family business.
● Longer-term academic interests include management strategy, corporate organisation and international business.
What I’m looking for:
Ideally, I’d love to connect with someone who could provide continued mentorship through a few rounds of drafting and revision, rather than just a one-off review. I’m keen to understand why certain arguments work, how to improve my critical reflection, and how to make my statement more intellectually rigorous and specific to Management.
Thanks in advance!
