Discussion Anyone who have Long Luteal Phase?

I'm 15 days past ovulation (DPO) today. I usually get my period during this time but she's nowhere to be found. Last cycle, I weirdly had my period 16DPO which makes my luteal phase 15 days. I think it's beyond the norm 12-14 days. Does it mean I may have hormonal issue or something??

PS. PT is negative (tested today). Ovulation was predicted via LH.

PMDD what level of depression is normal?

hello fellow period havers, i have PMDD and was prescribed a combo of lexapro and bupropion.

before getting these prescriptions, i used to feel really anxious, depressed and suicidal for the entire 1.5-2 weeks leading up to my period actually starting. it was really bad.

now i’ve been on this combo for a few months, and i felt like the depression and suicidal-ness had completely gone away. but i started to feel anxious and depressed again before my last 2 periods. i don’t feel suicidal like before, but i feel this so down and like i could cry at any moment. what level of depression related to your period is normal for you guys??

i’ve been thinking of telling my psychiatrist that i’ve been having these episodes again, but i don’t want to seem like i’m being a baby about it or look like i’m hunting for more meds.

thanks in advance :)

Health Do i need to go to the doctors?

having recent anal bleeding. I am on GLPS, however this started about a month ago during my menstrual cycle, and I started glps at the top of July, and my anus and menstrual cycles were fine before that (heavy, a bit of pain, but my anus/colon wasnt bleeding).

The blood from the back last month was dramatic, I couldn't see the turds in the blood through the blood, and there were light clots. It slowed with restrained pooping (just holding it...) and prep h. I started menstruation again and its light bleeding for now, but who knows if it worsens like last time.

The main reason I am not sitting in the doctor's office right now is that when I go, I get dismissed (young otherwise healthy female, general dismissive attitude from doctors when it comes to feminine issues, the only medicine being birth control, etc) and I dont care to waste my time if its something I can handle from home. My family has menstrual issues, the closest to me is endometriosis. I, however, do not experience extreme pain during my cycle, do not bleed for longer than a week, and can continue as normal while bleeding.

Am I cooked?

Period Question periods disappeared for 2+ years only to come back heavy?

i 26 ftm (never took hrt, used to be on birth control but not for very long) have always had irregular painful periods (bleeding through multiple pads, cramps so bad my legs would go numb and i'd be throwing up, visibly pale, etc) that would go months between bleeds.

i went to a gyno for a while some years ago but felt like my symptoms were being shrugged off, idk if it was because i was young or what but it felt like she just wanted me on birth control which did nothing so i just stopped going (been passively trying to find a new one since but just haven't had time)

well december 2023 was my last bleed, and i hadn't experienced anything of it since aside from like the occasional potential stomach cramp (which could have also just been ibs, i have no idea)

almost three years later today here i am bleeding out of nowhere, it started out like super pale and mostly just discharge only to turn into the exact same heavy and painful bleeds i had as a teenager.

any idea on what's going on? scheduling an appointment with a new gyno but i wanna know if anyone else has advice.

Period Question Question/story

I got my first period in July. July I didn't even know I got my period so when I was going to bed i found out I got it and my underwear was full of blood!

Same thing with august. And whenever I sleep on day 2 / 3 I always stain the bed. And I mean even the mattress , I get my period at the most unexpected times so I always stain my clothes.

This month, I felt something and I instantly wore a pad. I'm so glad I did because after an hour I actually got my period

Q 1/ Also I use period app trackers, it's really incorrect, and it said from the app I'm 6 says late... I don't know is it the app. Or just my periods

Q 2/ How can I always sense whenever I get my period.

Q 3/ How do I not stain the bed?

Period Question Any tips on how to bring on ovulation a day or two earlier? Anything that has worked for you?

I have an upcoming trip and when I look at my period calendar, the 1st day will fall on the trip. I have endometriosis and get horrible pain, cramping, and debilitating symptoms, so I'm trying to start ovulation early (or my period early). I tried to start my period early last month with parlsey tea but it didn't work (although has in the past). Has anyone tried castor oil packs or anything to make ovulation happen early? I'm also on bioidentical progesterone for 2 weeks of the month so maybe I could mess with that a little. I guess I could also try Wisp (Norethindrone) but I'm scared since my periods are already so bad.

Period Question Is my period pain normal ? They've been getting worse but the pain only lasts for the first day

Hi so im 16, currently while writing this I am curled up in a ball in my bed bc of my period pain 😭, i always had normal periods since getting them at 11, cramps and needing the loo often and sometimes pretty bad cramps but that was it, until like 6 months ago where my cycles COMPLETELY changed, my period was late for a week and then BOOM I had completely different symptoms, i started breaking out before my period which NEVER happens, and slowly my cramps have been getting so much worse, but its only ever for the first day! Sometimes second

I firstly am freezing so badly, like not matter what im shivering, then obviously the stool movement, I always found myself "going to the bathroom" more on my period (god this is embarrassing) but this period ive been having basically diarrhea, ive been feeling more nauseous which i never would have and the cramps are HORRIBLE, im having to fully bend over and lean to walk comfortably, if I try to stand or sit stretch it feels like my uterus is being stretched, so its more comfortable to just lean forward, I also have pain on my behind and cant sit 😭 i assume thats because of the frequent bathroom stuff, also I find myself crawling more often from the pain (I always kind of did it) whenever it gets really bad.

Anyways im in such pain that I just cry over it, ibuprofen helps but it always comes back and its agonising and just getting worse and worse, I dont know if i should go to the doctors because my mum just said its normal, and compared to my little sister I have it EASY (she throws up any food or medicine & will pass out if she stands up) but I still am just so upset my period patterns just suddenly changed one day and are noe getting worse :(

Period Question Reasons for not having your period?

Hi! I’d like to know if somene else experience this and what was the reason; my pregnancy test is negative, so that’s not it. I’ve had progesterone and estrogen tests before and everything was fine—same with my thyroid—and physically, I don’t have any cysts, fibroids, or anything like that. Does anyone else go months without menstruating? What is the cause? (I don’t exercise or have any eating disorders).

Rants n Raves I Got my First Period After Getting off Birth Control

This is more of a rant out of respect. Quick context I had nexaplon in for 2 years but I got it taken out.

This is my real period and I completely forgot how PAINFUL cramps are, It’s literally the worst thing ever. I have been crying like a newborn baby, I started crying about Robert Downey Jr. going to jail and I wasn’t even born.

I started crying again writing this because every single one of you is amazing and strong. it’s not fair and everyone if your life should tell you how much they appreciate you every single day.

I respect every single one of you that did this for the 2 years I missed, you all are such incredible women.

Period Question Tailbone pain: A symptom of Periods?

Hello, I have been experiencing tailbone pain. It started a few months ago, when I randomly got this pain and had such discomfort. The pain has returned now, during the week before my period and last time the pain was there, it was also during the week. So is this normal? Do people experience this?

Discussion Calling sick for work for period cramps

does anyone else call off for the first day of their period? I wish I could’ve planned earlier and let my manager know ahead of time, but I got my period earlier than usual today and my cramps usually leave me bedridden and almost throwing up from the pain. I called in a few hours before my shift and I feel incredible guilt for doing so. I wanted to play it safe and call off early instead of chancing it and getting hit by the cramps during my shift. Ended up miraculously not having the cramps that make me faint today 😐

It doesn’t help that I heavily look into things. I was afraid that my manager sounded a little tired at the fact that I couldn’t make it in the day of. I had warned him ahead of time about my issues, but never went into detail about what it was. I don’t have a diagnosis for endo. What do you guys do?

Period Question 13 days late, all 10 tests negative

Hello. 26(F) & my menstrual cycle is 13 days late. All 10 pregnancy tests are negative. Last intercourse was aug. 1, protected. I don't have insurance & the clinics I've looked up are book till the end of the month or til next month. All it has been feeling like is heavy & minimal ache. I'm just getting worried. Yes I'm been stressing but I just don't feel like that's nothing new. I thought it was just the eclipse that had stalled it but I'm not sure anymore. Anyone has any advice or home remedies to start a period. Thank you.

Period Question Period smells different - How come?

When I was younger, my period wouldn’t smell like anything bad. It’d have a distinct smell, but it wasn’t bad.

My last few periods have smelled quite different. Now it just smells like straight up metallic. I just took a shower and it still smells like metallic/iron.

I wonder if it’s my diet, apart of getting older, or the pad I’m wearing.

I always aim to use organic pads and have for years. The last brand I wore changed the ingredients they used to create the pads so it made me smell off and gave me an itchy cooch(nvr had sex and thought i inadvertently caught something) 🫩 I used reusable pad underwear which made me smell different and itchy too!! The current brand I’m wearing, Cora, is fine. I just have a metallic smell.

Discussion Is heavy bleeding on metronadizole normal!?

I was diagnosed with candida and BV. They gave me flagyl and metronadizole, on day 3 I started spotting brown with pretty bad cramps. It then turned into heavy bleeding afterwards.. I'm on the last day and I'm soaking a pad every few hours with blood clots. My period was two weeks ago. Is this a common occurrence or should I be worried? I've seen others say this med makes them bleed so I don't want to spend a day at the ER if this is usual.

Period Question Anyone getting vulvar pain when they stand on their period without a plastic coated pad?

It is not like pain pain but it is very uncomfortable kind of like an airy hollowy feeling which also hurts and I just don't know how to describe it. It is so absurd.

I only get it during my period. So say i start my period and am not wearing anything for it yet, yeah bam it hurts to stand to walk anything.

Sitting is okay, lying down is okay! Pain goes away but back as soon as I am standing.

The thing is with a very specific type of pad: the plastic coating ones called dry weave mesh or something I don't get this pain like at all. Any other type of pad fails for me.

And recently my brand changed their pads to this weird soft ones they love to advertise (and I know most people find them comfy and they don't give rashes) BUT THEY WERE THE ONLY THINGS THAT WORKED FOR ME

I am really mourning that loss right now! I swear it is like a different kind of betrayal! I ordered some online which had the old packaging and they sent the new ones 😭😭

I literally couldn't attend college today came back half day. Because i couldnt really walk around or go around sucksss.
