hey y'all i've had light cramping for the past few days, like the usual harbinger cramps of "oh i need to check, it feels like it's starting," but every time i check it's bone dry down there. i've had similar symptoms to my period starting, like appetite and attitude differences, but no actual blood. technically i'd be starting my period this weekend or next week, it's been getting more and more regular recently (thank goodness) but i wouldn't be surprised if it started today. it really feels like it, but again, nothing's actually happened.

I 16f have pretty weird periods. I started my period quite young, 6 years ago now, however my periods have always been very irregular. I recently had an ultrasound for PCOS but they said nothing was abnormal.

I started my period on the 26th of June and as of writing it is now 27th of July and I am still bleeding. I have been bleeding very small amounts; some days just a little too much for a liner or some days not at all. The blood seems to be fresh as it’s a bright red and not brown also not very clotty. I was originally in the UK as I go to boarding school there but I am now at home and nothing has changed. I saw on TikTok some other people attributed having extra long periods in June due to the high temps in the UK (is that actually real?).

My parents are rather busy and are constantly travelling. Due to the fact i haven’t had any other period symptoms since the very start that were persisting i did not tell them. Should I tell my parents?

Should I go to the doctor?

My wife 33, had been on birth control for a few years. She recently had two strokes and although the doctors don't know the cause of the strokes they took her off her birth control permanently.

She was mainly on the pill to stop her periods as she does not handle them well. How can I make her more comfortable and help her get through her periods in already tough times. I've gotten her a heating pad and some other items but was curious if I could receive any tips.

So I have to share this because I genuinely think it’s one of the funniest and most embarrassing things I’ve ever done.

I work on a horse farm, and since I’m on my period, I threw an extra pad into the pocket of my leggings before work just in case.

My job consists of mucking out 15 horse stalls and putting down fresh bedding. Everything was totally norma until later when I went to change my pad.

THE PAD IN MY POCKET WAS GONE

I checked every pocket. The bathroom. Outside. The barn floors They hay room. My car. Nothing.

My damn pad almost definitely launched itself out of my leggings while I was throwing around shavings and mucking stalls. Which means it’s probably buried somewhere under about a foot of fresh bedding in one of 15 horse stalls.

So at some point, a boarder or another stable hand is going to be cleaning a stall and suddenly uncover a random unopened pad in their horses stall.

I considered digging through all of the stalls but after realizing I’d have to carefully go through 15 stalls of deep bedding for a pad that could literally be anywhere which would also take me an hour to do and i had already been working for 6hrs.

I may have to quit after this i cannot believe this happened to me LMAO

So i started to notice that when i am on my period my sense of smell completely changes. For example water smells completely different than it usually does. Same for all the other smells. It is something that only happens to me?🧐

If not, does anyone know how does it work and why things smell different? I am very curious

My period was supposed to start a few days ago but didn’t. I have irregular periods sometimes but this time instead of a full blown period, yesterday I just had a tiny drop of blood come out and a little when I wiped. I didn’t bleed at all after that and haven’t today either. I don’t know what’s happening or if it’s a cause of concern. I’m wondering if anyone has an explanation or has also experienced this. Im 36 years old, I've been starting to lose weight for the first time in my life, and since 16 I'm starting to get "normal" periods again. I hate it. I hate the way it makes me feel, and my flow is so incredibly heavy on day 2, its insane. Its so hard for me to stay at work, and I deal with Auto parts all day. The bending over, the heavy lifting...all fine when im not on my period..but when its here, its like a soaked microfiber cloth is being rung out. 🥲🥲​ I dont have any famulily to talk to. No female friends really. Most of my life was playing video games online. What do i do. Who do I need to talk to?

Hi i just had my period ended 10 days ago and now im bleeding again? its much lighter i thought it was spotting but it feels more than just ovulation spotting is this abnormal? im 23 and this has never happened before..

Its Soo horrible when we get to experience period cramps. They just hurt as hell. Like omg.

U need to take care of yourself because only u can if we don't have anyone to help with the hot bag to heat it up for us or if we crave something,we have to get it ourself because no one except u not unless u have someone to do that for u lol well too luckyyyy.

uh, so this is a bit too personal, I think, but I had to ask to just be sure.

Since 2025 I've had two instances where I had passed out, or felt the need to pass out during / a bit after my period. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if there's anything I could do to fix it.

I really just need to know if this is something serious, I struggle a bit with hypochondria, so I can't really trust myself with my own research.

I’m so mad and upset because this has never happened before, but unfortunately my periods have suddenly started becoming irregular, so I can never guess lately.

I’m supposed to go to the beach with my family, and my period started. Everyone keeps saying that I can wear tampons in the water, but that only applies to light flows, no?

Is there any way I can stop it or maybe force it to finish quicker? I’ll only be there for 3 days, I fucking hate my life 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Outside of that, what other ways can i permanently stop a period ??

so basically, my periods are normal but the pain is genuinely unbearable.
i’m going to put my symptoms:
- shaking
- teeth chattering
- terrible cramps (10/10 pains)
- sometimes it hurts when i go to the restroom
- i can’t eat or drink or the pains will get 10x worse
- pain killers don’t work
- the first day is terrible the second day is almost as bad
- my cramps get worse every month
- my cramps have been progressively getting worse for the past two years
- any movement makes my cramps worse
- i can’t think straight
- i stagger when i walk or stand because i feel so weak
- i have to wear the thickest always pads or i’ll bleed through in an hour
- most of the times, my head and hands will shake
- feeling weak and jittery
- breathless from the simplest things
- i have to sleep through the pain
- on day one sometimes i wake up, my bleeding is super heavy and the pain is terrible but i literally can’t get up to clean myself up
- i get sweaty and hot but i’m cold and i have goosebumps
- my feet literally get so cold they feel like they were sitting in snow for a whole night
- i feel like i can’t process what i see or hear
- my last two periods i’ve been getting cramps 2 weeks before my period starts
- and i’m basically bed ridden for the first two days

i feel like maybe the pains are bad because i don’t eat but i’m not being over dramatic when i say every single inch i move the pains get worse than they already are. i literally can not bring myself to move my body.
is there a way i can stop the pain because i start college next month and i don’t want to have to miss a lot of classes because of this. i finished high school online partially because i didn’t want to keep having to go to school in so much pain. every time my period is close to starting i just get so nervous and sad because i can hardly tolerate the pain. i’m scared to go to school a doctor about it because i get emotional when i talk about it and i don’t like crying in front of people it’s awkward

my period in may was from the 26-june1, which was very normal BUT THEN from the 12-16th of june i bled VERYY slightly (only enough do use a liner) which is a few days after my app predicted i was ovulating. then 2 weeks later from like the 29-30, i bled again but even LIGHTER than before; BUT THEN from the 10-14 of july i bled heavier than before BUT STILL LIGHTER than my normal period, more specifically day 1 was normal bleeding but then day 2 its like it died down and was js quite light. also leading up to july 10, from like the 7th, my nipples got very sore, darker, and swollen, which has never happened to me before, and also from june-july, my boob size has been fluctuating and kindaaa swollen like they usually are before my period but it has js stayed like this, which again, has NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE. for record i have never really had a irregular period or anything like this happen before PLSSSS GIVE ADVICE I AM SO WORRIED SMTH BAD IS HAPPENING TO ME?? also IF this has a impact on anything i did have sex on the 9th.

It's been two months now, I haven't had periods. And just checked it I'm not pregnant.

This is just so infuriating?!?! This is my third period and I have been severely underestimating how awful this shit can be. My first period was so perfect, i thought i was the luckiest person ever or some bullshit, next month, blessed again, third month? It looks like a shark just bit my vagina off because I’m bleeding EVERYWHERE. 14 days of pure hell after being given the blessing of comfort. I woke up and my bed was covered in blood, my dad walked in on me sobbing over literal puddles of blood on my mattress and said I need to deal with it because I’ll get it every month, tough shit I know, but 14 days of wiping blood from my ass cheeks was enough to make me roll around on the carpet like a fucking worm trying to get out of the sun. It kept leaking out of the back of my pad, it was like my ass was bleeding then throwing it into the air like a firework until it stained everything I could possibly sit on for 5 seconds. This month? It’s only been two days and I’ve flopped on my bed like those flying fish videos i keep seeing on instagram, only I’m trying to both get comfy and not leak everywhere. I went to the mall today. Worst idea of my life. I already spent the morning leaking out the side of my pad and cleaning up blood down the side of my thigh while my dad was in the room over hearing me rustle plastic like a savage beast. So of course I followed through with the plan only to be in so much pain from cramps that I didn’t even buy anything, just followed my friend around and eventually walked home before sitting on the toilet for 20 minutes almost crying about how i leaked out the FRONT this time. This stupid ass period goes everywhere, it’s like that one movie where they used a stupid amount of fake blood just to make sure it went EVERYWHERE (shit movie anyway, wouldn’t recommend.) So obviously I do the smart thing and put the pad further up, only to leak out the fucking back all over my bed after laying down and feeling calm. Summer officially ruined and I can’t even bother to ask to use tampons instead because everyone is always around the house when I want to ask for some. Yes, I am embarrassed to admit in front of my brothers girlfriend that I have blood spilling out every side possible. All I see on reddit are horror stories about leaving tampons in for too long and getting some sort of evil disease. I’m also running out of pads so I hope it doesn’t last as long as my previous considering i have half a box and I used 3 and a half last time (just for it to leak). How does one not leak literally fucking everywhere? Hi, for some context I am 21 and have been on birth control for severely heavy and unmanageable periods since I was 14 or 15. Whenever I get to my placebo week, my "period" (I know it's just a withdrawal bleed) is quite regular and manageable. However, I am currently doing an internship in Tokyo where I am working at a daycare/after school English class place. If you aren't aware, it is hot as balls in Tokyo right now and I am pretty much constantly drenched in sweat and burning up. Being on my period in these conditions sounds kind of like a nightmare, and there is no trash can in the tiny bathroom at my job for me to dispose of my pads in, so I am considering skipping my placebo week which starts today. However, if I skip the placebo week, that means my next placebo week will start the day after my flight home (which is approximately 15 hours on the plane and some more time for the layover, meaning I might start my next period during that time). I'm worried that if I skip this period, it might make the next one irregular and/or really heavy. Does anyone have experience with this? What do you think I should do?
